Cozy and Amazing

We are a family of eight and we are adventurous, but we have six children raging from 11 to 3. This house is nice clean beautiful cabin on the inside with enough room to sleep all of our six children downstairs leaving us upstairs with the tube full bathrooms and the half bathroom, we had more than enough room. Instructions were clear, and when we ran into some trouble when we hit a deer with our SUV and needed to get a rental, but couldn’t until later the day we were supposed to check out. The host was amazing with being helpful and made sure we were able to stay until we could get the rental, and was very mindful of how stressful that was for us, I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the fire pit and the scenery you make it so worth it as . I have seen some complaints regarding the furniture which is actually extremely comfortable and yes, the cabin is rustic in someways, but it is also updated with everything modern that you would need to be comfortable. I took no issue with the cleanliness as I thought it was very clean and all the linens provided were very nice.

Don't waste your money.

We easily found the property, found the key and entered and were hugely disappointed!! This house might have been ok back in the 70's - but not today. Furniture looked like it had been salvaged from the roadside or found at Good Will. If you sat on the ripped sofa you went practically down to the floor. The house had not been cleaned, no tub mats for showers or soap, not enough sheets or pillow cases. Air conditioners were very LOUD - fortunately we had cool weather. This a very sad property in significant disrepair. The amazing property manager was quick to have someone clean the house and provide toiletries. Overall very disappointing!

Cozy spot, close to Hunter Mountain

Stayed here while visiting Hunter Mountain. It's about a 10 minute drive from the resort. Cozy place, functional fireplace was handy in the winter, although the heater did MOSTLY keep up with the frigid temperatures outside (-15 degrees at night). Note the the wood burning (listed as one of the two fireplaces in the listing) is non-functional, as it is not connected to any chimney. Due to the cold, weren't able to make use of any of the outdoor space, but there was a fire pit on site and some chairs on the deck. Couple of lights that were burned out, but I would expect the owner could fix those up quick enough, and this is likely not an issue anymore.

Great location and super cozy but needs some fixing and better cleaning. The house is in a great location, at the end of a secondary road, immersed in the wood. Table for picnic outside and grill for BBQ. View of the stars is amazing! Cozy leaving room with wooden fire place and very comfy couches. Nice for relaxing evenings. You need to buy your own wood though. The house has one master bedroom on upper floor with its own bathroom and another half bathroom outside. Really convenient. Lower floor  has 2 other bedrooms a bathroom and an extra double bed in leaving room. Lower level can become noise at night because of the heater system and I guess the filling up of water tank but not every night. House was not super clean, we had to broom  the floor when we arrived. That was a surprise since we requested an early check in (noon instead of 3pm) but  that was not possible because cleaners schedules. When we arrived at 2,30pm we waited outside the cleaner to finish. When we got in at 3 pm dryer was going and some  towels were in the basket in the lower bathroom. Not a big deal but everything looks rushed a little bit. The house needs some fixing: waggling faucets, not working lights, missing toilet paper holder. Small things that can be easily fixed but I read similar comments in previous review. Owner is really responsive. It was easy to communicate with her by text. The heater of Master bedroom stop working one morning and she called plumbers immediately. They adjust the problem the same day. It snowed when we were there and the driveway was cleaned very nicely twice that day: early morning and afternoon. We had no issue to move our car despite the heavy snow. The house is nice and in a nice location. It needs some small fixing and a good deep cleaning to become a 5 stars!

Served it's purpose. Camera inside.

The property was close to the mountains which was great. It was also spacious and had a nice fireplace. However, there were a lot of things off with this place. There is a camera as soon as you walk inside which would capture you going up and down the stairs. The grout in the showers was red/black as well as the shower liner, which I guess could be due to sulfur in the water but it made the showers feel dirty. There were cob webs on the walls of the dining area, burned out bulbs in multiple light fixtures, the toaster and coffee maker were missing essential buttons, and the faucets were wonky. The kitchen faucet did not have a fixed position that provided hot water - you had to spin it around and play with it until there was hot water. The faucets in the master bathroom were not securely fixed to the countertop. The doorframe of the master was half detached exposing nails, and the vent cover on the bottom of the fridge was not attached. The one set of bed sheets had a musty smell to them. The smart lock on the door had exposed batteries which did not feel safe. The smoke detectors were all literally hanging out of the wall (wires exposed). The inside of the dishwasher was dirty as well. If you want to use the fireplace, make sure you bring your own wood.

Cool hideaway chalet

Nice place in the center of the woods. Good space and cool decor. If you want to use fire pit make sure you bring the essentials. We got a real mountain experience.

Lovely Getaway

This location was a perfect place for a getaway with some friends. There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out. We will surely be back if ever in the area.

Great place for a weekend away!

Overall, the property was great and the communication with the host was excellent. We were able to virtually check in and out, and enjoyed our weekend at the house. Only complaint is that there is some rusting in the bathrooms (tub, toilets, etc.) that was a little off putting. Would recommend to stay at this property for very close access to Hunter Mountain!

Clean, Comfortable, Spacious, Secluded

This is a wonderful house to stay in. It is beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, and secluded and has everything you need. There is a lovely deck and outdoor area with a fire pit. The hosts were very helpful with everything, including offering advice on where to hike. We stayed for just a few days, but felt very much at home and had a wonderful break from city living. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful house + Great family trip!

We had a wonderful time at this convenient and yet very secluded property right in the middle of the woods - a perfect setting for those wishing to 'get away'. Very close to both Hunter and Tannersville - lots of shops and restaurants, hikes, lakes, etc. (North-South Lake is great!) The house itself is lovely with plenty of room - a great open concept kitchen/dining/living room leading out to the large deck + yard with fire pit. Plenty of bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms, plus an extra living room area downstairs with a TV and tons of game. The house has AC though we didn't need it most of the time - the house was generally very comfortable temperature-wise. We appreciated the adorable knick knacks/charming furniture throughout. It felt like 'home' and we were really sorry to leave (5 nights go fast!) We have stayed at several rental properties over the years but our kids really had a blast in this house and keep talking about going back!

Was a great time!

The property was everything we were hoping for. Hit a little bit of a road bump when we lost power one might, but the property managers were easily accessible and friendly when we contacted them. I think the power going out added to our trip and made it more memorable. Overall I woild.highly recommend this location and hope to rent it again in the future!

Clean and Comfortable

The cabin was just as pictured, clean and comfortable. Our family had a wonderful weekend skiing at Mt. Hunter. This property uses an electronic lock system which the owner has to send an invite and provide a code. The only issue we had was getting the lock code prior to our stay. Thankfully, we were able to get this resolved the night before our stay. Aside from that minor issue, everything was wonderful.

Wonderful getaway in the mountains

We really had a lovely time. The property was spotless and well-kept. Accommodations were fantastic with plenty of room for guests. Access to a grill and fire pit made for some great nights under the stars. All the amenities you could ask for.

Beautiful Interior & wonderful owner!

Upon first arrival I was a little worried due to the exterior of the house not matching the photos exactly. It looks a touch more run down than the photos showed. But the interior was exactly what the photos had, it was beautiful. The kitchen was newer and there was plenty of space for all 8 of us. Another thing that worried me upon our arrival was because the grass had not been cut. It was about knee high, so we unfortunately weren't able to play yard games in the yard, we had to use the drive way and use cardboard to pat down some of the grass (we were nervous about ticks! we saw so many deer on the street *which by the way was such a nice welcome*), so we just used some cardboard we had and made it work. We also weren't able to use the fire pit the first few nights. I text the owner, Merri, right away and she was very apologetic, said she was under the impression it had been taken care of, and she let us know she'd try her hardest to get the lawn taken care of while we were there. So she did finally get someone there for us, and on our last night we were able to have a nice send off fire and we were able to make some of the s'mores Merri left for us to enjoy. Overall I would definitely recommend the home and would stay myself again. Merri made it super easy and it was a great weekend! So thanks Merri!
