Why Dan, Darcy & Neal chose Sebago Lake

The Markat house, so named for our parents Marty and Kathy that bought the house over 20 years ago, has been the site of many great memories for us. We hope that it can also be a place of great memories for you too. The property is on Thomas Pond which is a quiet lake perfect for water skiing or listening to the loons. Enjoy the water, croquet or bocce on the back lawn.

What makes this house unique

The Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This house was nothing short of perfect. There were 9 of us and we had more than enough room. The lake was beautiful and we were able to fish and do lots of water sports. The house was exceptionally clean. I loved the big kitchen and the windows overlooking the lake.

Great Summer Holiday Stay for Party of 10

  • 5 of 5

We had the best the 4th of July to date. The house had everything we needed for our group: 6 adults and 4 kids under 6 years old. Thomas pond lived up to it's reputation of having great fishing and light boating traffic. The floating dock made the entire trip! There was space for us to sit and watch, take turns loading and off loading boats, tubes, paddle boards, etc. We hope to renting this home again in the future!

Rented in July of 2014

  • 4 of 5

Our family (two adults and kids ranging in age from 8 - 17) really enjoyed staying at this house. The house was clean and had plenty of room. The layout of the bedrooms was a little awkward because the master bedroom had a King size bed and then two twins in the same room. The other two bedrooms were on the opposite side of the house. The kitchen was great and we loved having a pool table in the basement. The best part about this property was the dock. We spent most of our time down there, swimming and hanging out. We also rented canoes and a paddle board which were dropped off and picked up at the property. We all loved being out on the pond. It's beautiful there and it was wonderful to hear the loons in the morning. The road on which the house sits was quite busy while we were there but it wasn't noticeable when we were out in the back. We would definitely consider going back because we all had a fun and relaxing vacation there.

Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home for a week in August. It is a beautiful updated home with all the modern conveniences you could ask for. Very Clean!!! Plenty of room for everyone! The spot on the lake is perfect. It is set back with an incline to get to the dock so keep in mind it might not be suitable for elderly or those that have trouble. The house isn't set back so much that you can't see the lake though. The whole backside of the house offers beautiful views. The yard is perfect for playing catch or using the croquet and bocce sets that came with the house. The owner was fabulous to work with and had answers to every question. The area is perfect too. Short drive to Windham for groceries and restaurants. North Conway is only about a 50 minute drive making it the perfect day trip. We liked the house and lake so much though, that we spent most of our time down on the dock, fishing, swimming and just relaxing! Would definitely recommend this home to our friends. We hope to rent again as well!

Fall Lake Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Needed a home to host Family and Friends during Foliage season in Maine. This place was great. It had all that we needed and more. The sun rises were a real plus. Also several lunchs at Hacker's Hill on a clear day was great. Thanks again.

Beautiful lakeside home

  • 5 of 5

We had a beautiful Labor Day weekend at this home! This house is perfect for a group or family get-together. The kitchen area is very spacious, open and bright with big windows, allowing everyone to socialize while preparing meals. The house is extremely clean. Outside there is an area to gather around the fire, with a picnic table and chairs. A few steps beyond that is the lake front with a large dock where we spent most of our time. Being an early riser, I found the lake quiet with only the sounds of loons. Heavenly! During our stay we encountered 2 problems. Upon arrival we had a difficult time with the lock box. We called and within minutes someone arrived to let us in with a key. Also, we had a water pipe break in the cellar, and again, very quickly someone arrived to take care of it. We are an easy going group and life happens however we were very impressed with how quickly problems were taken care of. I would highly recommend this home and would happily stay here again.
