About Ana Maria Fernandez Casanas
Our family emigrated from Cuba many decades ago. As islanders, the ocean has always been an integral part of who we are and where we want to be. We were raised in Miami, Florida and I thought that I would always want to live near the ocean. That is, until I visited Colorado! The first time I saw Pike’s Peak and Garden of the Gods, I knew that this is where I wanted to be! It took me a few years to get here, but I have been living here for two years. During this time, I have found that there is so much more to Colorado Springs than just the mountains. Our city has so much to offer from great outdoor adventures, to wonderful restaurants and historic attractions. There is so much to do, see, and experience here. It is our hope that “La Casita” offers you a place to come home to after a day of discovering all that Colorado Springs has to offer.
Ana Maria Fernandez Casanas purchased this House in 2009
Why Ana Maria Fernandez Casanas chose Old North End
La Casita has history and charm. When we purchased this house it was in terrible condition, however, we were drawn to it and always saw its potential. During the extensive renovation we found artifacts and newspaper clipping that told the story of this now beautiful home.
What makes this House unique
Colorado Springs is a large town with a small town feel. This "small town feeling" has much to do with the historic and lively downtown area. La Casita is nestled in a one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Colorado Springs, the Old North End. It is a quiet neighborhood with wide open streets and with good, old fashion neighbors that know each other. It is also a 5 minute drive to the downtown area, Colorado College and beautiful Monument Valley Park. You can walk to buy your groceries, do some banking or enjoy a hot latte at the local coffee shop, Stir. The house is warm and welcoming with many small touches that create the special experience we want all our guests to have.
