Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family was very pleased to find that your cabin greatly exceeded the beautiful pictures and write-up we saw on-line. Our first visit was so awesome that we promised ourselves that we would come back next year. And that is exactly what we did! Our second stay was even better than the first because everyone knew what to expect. Now when we talk about next year our choice for our next vacation is unanimous- your cabin!!

Everyone loved the views from each side of the cabin. The kids enjoyed sitting upstairs so they could watch everyone down below from the large balcony. The women loved the large, modern country kitchen where they prepared our meals (but they still got us to go out to some of the great local restaurants you recommended!). The guys enjoyed keeping a large fire in the massive stone fireplace and watching sports on Direct TV.

Our time on the front porch was relaxing and rejuvenating. We enjoyed just taking in nature's sights, sounds and smells!

The only problem with writing a review like this is that other folks are going to discover our secret vacation spot! Oh well! As long as we can return when it is available, we will be glad to recommend it to others!!

Beautiful spacious home, minor cleanliness imperfections, but amazing view and amenities

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this home with 11 of my friends for my bachelorette party. It was a fantastic experience and the house was just what we were looking for! I'll start with the cons and end with the pros because this house truly was wonderful!

Cons: There were some minor cleanliness issues that other reviewers had noted: shower curtain rod unattached, towels smell awful, showers seemed not entirely clean, and some bug issues, biggest of which was wasps in the house. The driveway is rocky and very steep, all of our cars made it up no problem but it was a little treacherous! The house is about 45 minutes away from Asheville, which was further than we expected.

Pros: Huge, beautiful house! Fit all 12 of us comfortably, with room to spare. Had so much of what we needed, basically just brought TP, food, and coffee. The hot tub was a feature we all enjoyed, and we loved starting our mornings off drinking coffee and enjoying the view on the porch. We all fit comfortably at the dining room table for a "family dinner". Also enjoyed the balcony from the second floor overlooking the kitchen - a key feature for dance parties while we got ready to go out for the night. Everyone agreed the beds were also really comfortable and we all slept well. This house was peaceful and spacious and beautiful. There were also endless fun features that provide a weekend of endless entertainment. I would definitely stay here again, just would bring my own towels!

Comfortable, homey, and inviting

  • 5 of 5

Very welcoming, homey, warm, and comfortable house. It had all of the luxories of home. I can't thank you enough for allowing my family and I to experience such a remarkable country mountain home. If I could make one suggestion, I would suggest converting an area into a game room with a pool table, foosball, dart board etc.

Also, while we were there, we had the opportuntity to meet the prior owner/neighbor who was very accomodating allowing us to walk the grounds and sight see.

Beautiful space, quiet and welcoming

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the house and all its amenities with a group of several couples and a few friends. The kitchen is large and great for collective meals with the nearby farm table and the rest of the space is great for relaxing.

Big, comfy beds and many sleeping options offered us a lot of flexibility. A very cool environment with unique offerings and enough square footage to give everyone their own space, or permit everyone to be in the same room at once. A warm and relaxing atmosphere-- I'll have to come back in winter to enjoy the fireplace!

Absolutely stunning cabin!!!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I recently stayed a week in this cabin and loved every bit of it! There were 14 of us total and everyone had a place to comfortably sleep. My kids especially loved sleeping on the hanging porch bed, as well as my mother! We fished every day in the pond, and made some wonderful photos of those memories! The cabin owner, Jeanine, was in constant contact with me from the beginning of the process until the very end. She even gave me her cellphone number in case I needed her during my stay (which I did have to text her, and she texted me back immediately). My deposit was refunded back to me 3 days after we returned home. The only thing we would prefer next time, is to have a few more towels and rags supplied. There were only 14 supplied, but thankfully some family members had brought their own. There are also 2 sets of washer and dryers, so we were able to wash the towels as needed. This cabin is beautiful and peaceful in every way and we will definitely be returning!!! Thank you so much for providing such an amazing place for me and my family to stay!!!

Perfect Way to Unplug!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin provided plenty of space for 5 teenagers and 4 adults to enjoy time together but also spread out. The hanging bed on the porch was a hit and was rotated each night. The kids loved the lower level privacy. Perfect for older children or teens. The kids loved the pond and caught several fish each day. The cabin had everything we needed for cooking meals and gathering around a table for meals. The porches were great for morning coffee and conversation. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and rafting in the area. Everything was a little drive but that's what we wanted, time away from the hustle of life. Plenty to enjoy at the cabin. Highly recommended!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

My family - seven siblings, two brothers-in-law, five nieces and nephews and dad (15 total- from Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia and Colorado!) spent a wonderful week at this cabin. The house was amazing..just like the pictures show. The property was beautiful and spacious enough for all of us to relax and spread out when we wanted to...but to also fit the whole family at the dinner table. The kids loved being able to fish, and we all took turns in the hot tub and sleeping on the hanging bed on the porch... probably the top highlights for most of us! We had one day when the hot tub wouldn't work. A quick email to the owner and less than 12 hours later, a maintenance person had it repaired. We appreciated how quickly Jeanine responded and handled it so that we could continue to enjoy our week. This cabin suited our family so well and I am so grateful for the memories we were able to make by spending the week together. All in all, it was a perfect rental and one I would highly recommend to any other family!
