The unit is located in the iconic Ilikai Hotel on the 15th floor, made famous in the opening credits of the original Hawaii Five-O TV series. It has stunning city and mountain views, which can be enjoyed with a glass of wine from the spacious living area and large covered lanai. The unit was renovated in August of 2012 and offers a full gourmet kitchen with all the amenities of home. It also offers a luxurious bathroom with a full shower and handicap bars, heated Japanese style bidet toilet seat and a very open concept style studio suite design. This unit has been very tastefully and comfortably decorated with class and style in mind.

Excellent property and location

I like the property, the owner, and the people he has serving it. Both Lois and I miss the wicker chairs and foot rest; these two were replaced with a small table and 2 high chairs which we feel are very uncomfortable. Also, I have two suggestion: the carpet on the patio needs to be secured as wind blows it all over, a minor point is that the wire on the railing is no longer there and it kept the birds off although there are not many birds now.

Great place! Great location!

The condo was the perfect size for our party of two. The Ilikai is the perfect location! There is a store on the Lobby floor, the restaurant has the best pancakes you will ever taste, and it is located right on Ala Moana Rd where all of the buses, trolleys and shuttles run. We were able to go all around the island by catching a bus right outside of the hotel. The access to the unit was super easy! Clint, the owner, is a very nice guy. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, great suite!

Lovely place to stay on vacation. Excellent room, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed with clean white sheets. Had the most amazing sleeps ever!

Patio is beautiful but we didn't sit out due to no privacy of other patio dwellers seeing us or looking at all their junk on their patios. I didn't realize that the building was slanted so that all could stare at us while out on patio. While this view on patio is the city side Main Street it is surprisingly very quiet at night.

I'm a light sleeper and I heard nothing.

Great honeycomb blinds for privacy on windows, nicely modern furnishings, great A/C.

My first time renting a VRBO and I would do again in a heartbeat!

Clint was amazing to do business with, very, very nice to correspond with!

Dishes are a pattern of dark brown and burgundy and light brown and mugs were dark too. Pet peeve of mine, I like white dishes so I just went to Longs Drug store and purchased white Corelle so that my menus looked more appealing.

Stay here you won't be disappointed.

Disappointing - management company doesn't improve anything based on reviews

Disappointing. Biggest challenge was the water flow in the bathroom sink. It is really slow. What is worse is the management company played naive about it as if they didn't know but there is a review in May about this condo on the exact same issue. The management company told me after they looked at it that they would have to replace it after we leave as it could cause more issues! Also you have to flush toilet twice to get it to work properly. We also wanted an early arrival if possible. I reached out via text to the property management company and they didn't respond until 30 minutes before the regular 4pm check in time. However in talking to the owner earlier, he shared they typically finish up around 2.30pm. Some other small things that made this rating go worse was no guidance in the description on homeaway about parking if you have a rental car. When I asked, then I was told there is parking above the red lobster instead of valet at the hotel. There also was no pad or pencil in the condo, no beach chairs, cooler and not enough spoons. My parents were in room 508 which had a beach umbrella, beach chairs and great running water in their bathroom sink. To add one last thing - the property management company diluted the hand liquid soap in the kitchen with water so it was really watery!

Owner's Response: I first want to start off by saying, I am so sorry for any lapse in communication between you and either my management or myself. When speaking to you on the phone I hoped to explain to you that the faucet was a low flow faucet and installed to reduce the amount of water damage to the wood mirror and cabinet. It is true, we absolutely do not want to tackle plumbing projects while we have guests in the room unless it is necessary. The toilet on the other hand is a necessity and should have been repaired, and I do apologize for that. I appreciate your input and will replace the faucet and of course make sure the toilet is working properly. I apologize to everyone, but I do not provide any beach equipment (other than beach towels) simply because it is too problematic to maintain. If all my guests would rinse off the sand and salt water then I probably would. I used to provide beach equipment in the past, but then I started having guests not happy about having beat-up beach chairs, so I just stopped providing it all together. I also do not guarantee an early check in as it is impossible to determine how long it will take to clean the unit after a guest has checked out, however we always try our very hardest to help when we can. Same applies for a late check out. The soap issue is something I’ll look into. The information about the parking is detailed on my VRBO listing page. Clint the owner was a gem to deal with. From booking to departure from his 2 condos we rented it was a breeze .I've rented many holiday rentals all over USA and AUSTRALIA and his where by far the best and easiest to deal with and doing it from the other side of the world can be a daunting task, but not with Clint you would think he lived next door.I will be recommending his condos to all my Aussie friends and ill certainly be back.
