The Club House fue construido en 2006 y sirve como nuestro lugar de residencia durante el verano. Muchos de nuestros inquilinos preguntar acerca de venir para una visita en el invierno y que han respondido a sus manos de papel al proporcionar los alquileres de vacaciones de invierno. We were 2 adult women who came to the area for the park. The cabin is in the perfect location as Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, and many points of interest within Acadia National Park are within a 20 minute drive. Aside from the stairs up to the loft, and the dog door, this is a great rental for those with small children and adult groups without mobility issues. We mostly used the cabin for sleeping and ate out most meals, but the pots, bans, dishes, utensils were all good/as expected. The beds and living room furniture were comfortable. I did get in a little time on the screened-in porch with my book, which was my favorite part! The washer & dryer for laundry is an added bonus. Communication with the host was consistent from the morning of arrival through departure (top notch local host!) This is a cabin in the woods the hosts have done a fabulous job making comfortable as a vacation rental. You have to walk down a few stairs from the parking spot and across forest floor and up a few deck steps to get into the cabin (this would be a challenge for my parents). To set expectations, the downstairs floor is painted plywood with area rugs, but the inside was as clean as can be. The heater works great! The bathroom can be chilly for a shower, but that could be my own fault for not pushing the heat up high enough in advance. I'm from New England and like to camp in a tent so this cabin was more than adequate for me. If you prefer resorts/hotels, check out this host's other offerings.

The place was good except was not particularly clean. We had to sweep extensively when we arrived (and wore slippers the rest of the time, since the plywood floors don’t feel particularly clean even when dust-free) and also had to dust some pretty gross surfaces in the kitchen (the top of the fridge had apparently not been dusted in quite some time). When we arrived there was a large amount of white hairs from a pet stuck to the rugs, which was odd because the stated policy for the place is no pets. Anyway we had a great stay in Acadia but it’s a shame the place isn’t better cared for and cleaned!

We loved our stay at the Summer Paradise Cabin! The location worked out very well, the check in was as easy as could be, and communication with the property owner was excellent. This place has lots of charm and fit our needs perfectly. We definitely enjoyed hiking on the Quiet Side, and the stars are phenomenal out here! If you go, I highly recommend the wild blueberry pie from Mount Desserts. Life-changing!

Acadia get away

Great location to Acadia and bar harbor. Great time hiking and a scenic sunset boat ride. Long pond looked great for kayaking but ran out of time! House was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Three season screened porch was wonderful! Would definitely recommend! Host was super responsive and check in/out was very easy.

Cabin in the woods near Acadia

Our family stayed four nights in this cabin and it was wonderful. The location is beautiful, and is a short walk from the swimming area, kayak rental, and boat pull-out area of great long pond. The great room is very comfortable and the screened-in deck is a relaxing place to enjoy the sounds of the forest. The place was easy to find and private, and the beds are comfortable. It had everything our family needed as a home base for our vacation to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The biggest drawback is that there's only one bathroom, but it wasn't a big deal for 4 people. Also the loft bedroom area does get exposed to light from below. Both of these are minor and as one might expect. In general, the pleasant, spacious layout and excellent location really enhanced our family trip. We'll be looking for this place again next time we go to Acadia.

Adam and Jen have a deep love and understanding of the natural beauty surrounding the Acadia/Mount Desert Island area. Jen grew up summers on Long Pond and Adam on a 110-acre farm in Western Maine adjoining the Appalachian Trail. They met here in Bar Harbor working as sea kayak guides in the summer of 1993.

Over the years, they have hiked, biked, paddled, and sailed every conceivable route on and around Mount Desert. Adam completed his goal of hiking every trail on the Island in the summer of 1994 and Jen authored The Sea Kayaker's Guide to Mount Desert Island published by Down East Books in 1997. Together they paddled the Maine Island Trail, a 175-mile 28-day kayaking trip from Portland to Machias, up the entire Maine coastline.

In the summer of 2000, Jen and Adam started Mountain Sea Properties with a single house, Eagle Cliff, where they were married that same summer. The owner had approached them expressing her frustration renting the home through larger rental operations on the island. She complained that her house was one of hundreds represented so the service she received was minimal. She also stated that those who rented the house were not as well informed as they could be. The tenants were also one of hundreds and the service they received was minimal.

Adam and Jen offered to represent the house committing to providing top quality service to both owners and tenants by representing a limited number of houses and providing personalized vacation services.

Since then, Mountain Sea Properties has grown along with the Wales family. As year-round members of the Island’s community, Adam and Jen are dedicated to the vitality of the people of Mount Desert Island. Thus, each year they donate a portion of their proceeds to local organizations devoted to sustaining the beauty and well-being of the Mount Desert Island area.
