My booking and stay was confirmed by VRBO and payment was initiated for a couple of months. When arrived to destination (after flying with my 5 people family), the hot did not recognize the booking and did not allow us to stay. Last minute booking for 5 during Xmas/New Year period in Bahamas is extremelybexpensive and total cost was more than 4 x what i booked originally. Besides that, location was far from downtown (original booking) and i had to rent a car (taxis were very expensive for 2-3 transportations per day. The support /relocation team was helpful and initiated refund of original booking and a modest reimbursement as well. Obviously the financial burden was still significant (again, 4x the original cost). Do not trust booking systems completely and communicate with the host as soon as possible to confirm booking before you travel (avoid finding out that you do not have a place when you are at the baggage claim).
