Great location/view

Fabulous view of the Grand Haven State Park. Can be fun to watch all the craziness of the parking lot and beach while enjoying the view with a cocktail. The house has ample seating areas. It's definitely not a modern house (1921) so that means it can be tight in spots but has more character. The two bathrooms are a drawback but not a dealbreaker. Kitchen is well stocked to cook at home, which we did to avoid crowded restaurants. Can walk to the pier or town, and the beach is about 100 yards, so don't really have to drive much. Our group of 10 enjoyed it.

Extended Family Getaway

The house had everything we needed to fully enjoy our stay, including a lovely deck overlooking the beach and great views of the beautiful sunsets. The house was also perfectly located, right across the street from the Grand Haven State Park beach and the lovely riverwalk.

Family Vacation Compton

The property was perfect for our family with kids and grandchildren. The view is spectacular and the location is very convenient. The only negative is that 2 small bathrooms are a challenge for 10 people. Otherwise I would definitely recommend this property. 😀😀😀

Great Family Gathering Place

This historic cottage is well designed for family gatherings, including extensive space for socializing and awesome views of the lake. It sleeps many without feeling crowded and has easy access to all that Grand Haven offers. Our extended family loved it.

Beach getaway

This property is so beautiful and functional. The beach view is the best part. Really no issues. Fully stocked kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Quick and easy walk to the beach. Driving is even faster.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time in Grand Haven. The location is amazing- across the street from the beach. The house is a cute old house that has been updated. Plenty of space for adults and kids to sleep. Beds were comfortable. The decks have an incredible view of the lake and sunset. Kitchen has everything you need. Only thing to note is due to the old house the floors are creaky... which mostly just impacts the downstairs bedroom at night. Otherwise, amazing rental and would come back!

Awesome location

Amazing location with incredible views of Lake Michigan. Fantastic common area with comfy couches and a great deck. Bedrooms and baths are a bit dated, but the property has room to sleep a large crew. Great for a large group, plenty of areas to relax and not be on top of each other. Very professional check in and out process.

Now,after renting a few unsatisfactory places in the past few years, we were thrilled to find Happe House. The changes that were made, including expanding the living area, were terrific. Plenty of room for all of us. One suggestion: put a hose/shower head in the first floor shower. It is a very tight area and being able to manipulate the shower would be very helpful. And there is not a better place to watch the sunsets than from the large deck facing Lake Michigan.

Beautiful location!

The view and location is definitely as advertised! Outstanding location. However, the house is dated. Carpet and beds are old, and we had a mouse in the house. Overall though, fantastic stay.

We were so pleased with the spaciousness of the house, the windows, the view, the deck! Everyone in my family had their own bedroom (including my 96 yr old mother who had her own room on the main floor). The house has history which appealed to some of my family members. The floors creaked, the doors squeaked, but all added to the charm. My Unsalted rep bent over backwards to personally appeal to our requests.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice place. It's a mix of old world charm mixed in with convinces for today. The cottage is lovely and it's located right across from the State Park. The only drawback is that in Sept. the maintenance crews for the State Park descend to do their work on the parking lot, removing a shed and anything else needed in the area and it's really noisy, especially at 7:00 am when the trucks and machines pull in to begin their day.

Great family place

We had 4 adults and 4 children. There was plenty of room for all of us. I was surprised there was no beach supplies - at all. No beach towels, chairs, toys and balls. We bought some and took them home . Other beach rentals has these supplies. It would have been nice to have them at the cottage. We hope to return next year.
