This is a Five bedroom waterfront home in Deep Cove, North Vancouver on the Indian Arm fjord /seawater 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver. In summer months we rent the entire house as one unit on weekly basis. During the rest of year it can be rented short term or longer term (one or more months.) The bottom floor of the home is a large self-contained 1 bedroom suite complete with full bathroom and kitchen. During the low season, the main 4 bedroom , 2.5 bath home can be rented separately from the suite, which is also available for rent.
This property is not suited for events such a weddings or large parties of any sort due to limited parking (3 cars) and the fact that it is in a quiet residential neighborhood. We love our neighbors, and they are very quick to notify us and the local authorities if things get really noisy.
The residence is has a year round creek adjacent to the west walls, and offers a private dock, rocky beach, and garden area. Additionally, it has a large heated jacuzzi/hot-tub built into a wooden deck between the house and the waterfront for a post swim warm-up or evening soak.
The house is 12 minute walk to Deep Cove Village with many shops, restaurants, galleries, coffee houses and summer theatre etc. Deep Cove is a very safe and friendly environment for families with teens or younger. Good public transportation as well to Vancouver via seabus or muni buses.
The home itself is ideally situated to capture the beauty of its setting. Each of its three stories have many windows and decks facing the water where guests enjoy morning coffee or tea while watching kayaks and sailboats and power yachts pass by.
The residence has a reverse layout with a top floor entrance into the living, kitchen and dining areas, which open onto a panoramic views. Visible from the property are both Deep Cove marinas, coastal mountains and islets, and the lights of Port Coquitlan and Burnaby in the distance.
Tidal changes are up to twelve feet here and crabs can be caught right off the dock. The house is very private and feels as though you're 'away from it all,' yet it's only 20 km from downtown Vancouver. Families traveling together will find this spot a refreshing and private escape. Like all homes in this area, the property is forested by cedars and deciduous trees and sits at the base of the Mt. Seymour vast forest full of trails and wildlife. Large families tend to love this home.
There are 21 stairs down to house from road and three floor levels in house without an elevator. The house is not well suited for people who have difficulty with stairs. This is NOT a 'child safe' house in that there are open stairwells, exposed plugs, wiring, etc. so renters must strictly supervise young children in and out.
Our property is available for weekly rental in summer and a minimum of 5 days to many months Sept-May each year. The entire house is NON SMOKING. We prefer to limit the group size to 10 or 12 including children, and welcome families especially.
Residential neighborhood “quiet hours” are observed before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m. daily. At the street level there is a one car garage and parking for 1 other vehicle in the driveway. We also have a pass for parking on the road which is otherwise restricted. The maximum number of vehicles you can part at this property is three.

(b) creek-side bedroom with small creek-facing deck and private entrance and queen-sized bed;
(c) creek-side bedroom with queen-sized bed;
(d) bedroom with double bed.

Entire bottom floor remodeled in 2015 with added bath and complete "entertainment' kitchen (stove, refrigerator, microwave, counter bar).There is another complete and separate bath on that level as well for use by 2nd floor bedroom guests.
The home also has a playpen/baby bed if needed, but does not have a full size crib. A high chair also will be supplied if needed on request. We have three comfortable and easy to inflate single air mattresses w/ pumps for children or adult use.

(b) one shared full bathroom on the middle floor (with combined jetted tub and shower)
(c) one en-suite full bathroom attached to master bedroom on middle floor, with triple-headed shower.
(d) two bathrooms on bottom floor, one ensuite full with 12x12 bedroom (by April 2015) and another with open access from main rec room.
Entertainment and relaxation:
(a) hot tub /jetted jacuzzi (outside);
(b) small garden/grassy area;
(c) private dock (with space to tie up your own boat up to 20 feet by arrangement with owner) and swim ladder;
(e) private access beach (rocky, with stairs to water, bring water shoes for all B.C.. beaches!);
(f) pool table;
(g) large flat screen TV on upper level, with smaller TV on lower level, both with cable + one in lower bedroom
(h) board games, books, and cards for cozy nights at home.
(i) Fireplaces: two fireplaces w/ gas inserts and decorative logs/stones: no wood burning!
Main floor totally redone in 2006-8 and fully equipped with place settings for 10 and many more large and small plates, bowls, and flatware (not all matched). All standard cooking equipment and platters, etc. Stainless refrigerator + dishwasher, all customary small appliances, and barbeque on upper deck available year round. Also has separate wine refrigerator and bar sink, with wine and cocktail glasses. Main table seats 6 + 5 at adjacent granite bar/ counter + small matching table can be added to seat 10 at dining table. Second brand new kitchen also on lower level with microwave, sink, and refrigerator added 2015 (and may be rented separately off season) High chair and booster chair available on request.
