The Trapp Family Resort traces its roots back to 1947 when Maria Von Trapp and her family unveiled a 27-room ski lodge. Over the years, the resort has expanded significantly, now boasting 96 rooms in the Main Lodge, along with 100 Guest Houses and 18 Villas sprawled across 2,500 acres of picturesque terrain in Stowe, Vermont. This vast estate includes nearly 30 miles of meticulously groomed ski trails and an array of mountain biking paths.

Infused with Austrian-inspired architecture and European-style accommodations, the Trapp Family Lodge is currently overseen by Maria Von Trapp's son, Johannes, and her grandchildren. The Villas and Lodge offer breathtaking mountain vistas, traditional comforts, and attentive service, catering to guests throughout the year with a diverse range of activities.

Nestled in a private mountain enclave, the Villa at Trapp Family Lodge epitomizes luxury and relaxation. Guests can expect semi-weekly cleaning and linen services, in addition to full access to resort amenities.

Included in the stay is complimentary use of the fitness center, hiking trails, and all public spaces within the Trapp Family Lodge. On-site, visitors will find a new brewery with a Bierhalle restaurant, a deli-bakery, a lounge, and a fine dining establishment in the main lodge. The resort offers a plethora of activities, including horse-drawn wagon rides, property tours, historical excursions detailing the von Trapp family legacy, indoor and outdoor pools, as well as opportunities for mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, disc golf, and participation in the Mountain Kids Club.

Additional amenities encompass baking classes, craft-making sessions, afternoon tea with cookies in the main lodge, seasonal evening campfires complete with s'mores, guided hiking tours, and more.

We always strive to provide a seamless, memorable stay for every guest and family. Because our property is a private villa rather than a standard commercial hotel chain, the experience is distinct—offering a private, secluded retreat immersed in 2,500 acres of mountain woodlands, paired with full access to the trails, pools, fitness center, and amenities of the iconic Trapp Family Lodge. For those that are in in a hotel experience, the lodge is a full service hotel with room service and nightly rates.
