We were staying near my mother’s hometown with extended family, and the extensive space worked great. We had a lot of fun with the game room and movie room, and the grill got a lot of use for family meals.

River house at rumford

House is very spacious and enough room for everyone to spread out. Kids enjoyed the game room and theater room the most. Located in good and quiet neighborhood. Over all had a great time.

Great for a friend stay

Old farmhouse, so if ladybugs aren’t your thing and you expect a modern interior- skip it. But if you know Rumford, love history and look for the cute quirks in a house- this is your place. It has so much character and the most spacious place I’ve ever stayed.

Quiet Location

We liked the house overall. Great location very quiet neighborhood. Game room was nice ping pong table got alot of use. It was cool having the theater room. Plenty of room for 6 adults to spread out. Beds were very comfortable. Liked having the master room on the 1st floor. However as for the cleanliness was definitely not up to par. (Surfaces had a layer of dust, dead bugs in game room and on kitchen counters dust bunnies under bed ) The minor isses did not take away from our stay. we still had a nice time here.

I've been in Maine all my life. In Auburn, Bangor & Rumford Point. I currently reside in Bethel. I'm an avid skier & also love boating in the summer.

Why they chose this property

The house sit's across from one of the most photographed churches in Maine. So there is a great view from the front porch as well as the river, mountain & sunsets from the back.

What makes this property unique

This house was built in 1866 and has both the charm of it's historic features as well as modern comforts. It also has a home theater & has access to the androscoggin river. You won't find another place quite like it.
