About Bob & Deb Rogers
We are a family of four and our vacations are precious to us! A time to bond and get things back into perspective. We feel Acadia is a fantastic place to do this. The natural beauty here is breathtaking! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Bob & Deb Rogers purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Bob & Deb Rogers chose Bar Harbor
We chose this area because Acadia National Park is truly magnificent. We picked this particular property because of its great location and its charm. We wanted privacy and convenience at the same time. Access to Acadia National Park is just down the road and Bar Harbor is just 3 miles from the house. What more could we want?
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the cozy yet open feel of the house. There is a large deck off the back of the house and about half of it is covered so you can sit and enjoy the mountain view, wildlife and/or stars rain or shine. This may seem like an odd thing to add but the washer and dryer are a BIG plus. We have stayed at other rental homes without these and spend considerable amounts of time (and money) at laundromats.

A great place to stay!
My husband and I were so pleased with the Red House! It was in a perfect location on MDI. Everything was clean and tidy. We had a such great vacation here!
The Red House was clean & fully stocked when we arrived. The owners pay attention to detail & provide soft towels, soap, coffee etc & this makes you feel even more at home. The owners & process was easy & efficient. The home is right in the heart of Acadia Park. We especially enjoyed the deck overlooking the mountain, it was great for grilling & star gazing. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
The location was great.
The owners were very easy to work with.
This property has it all
Perfect location. Clean and comfortable. We especially liked the well stocked kitchen and grill.
We had a wonderful stay at the Red House with our family of five (three teenagers.) The house was in fantastic condition and it was the most fully equipped kitchen and home in our VRBO experience. There was a volume of information provided about Acadia and surrounding areas with suggestions included. The property was convenient to Bar Harbor and ANP. Mostly, though, it was a perfect mix of older charming (wide-slatted wood floors) and updated comfortable (great appliances, electronics and windows, etc.); a perfect place to relax after a day full of exploration and fun. The owners are easy to reach and patient with questions, which they answer cheerfully and fully. It was like staying at a friend's house who wanted to make sure you had a good time on vacation. I can't speak highly enough of this property and feel lucky that it was available for us.
Thank you! We’re so glad you had a great vacation and enjoyed the Red House!
Great stay at Red House
We had a great stay at Acadia and at the Red House! The property was well equipped for our family of five and it was in a great location-close to Bar Harbor and close to the park. We would absolutely stay here again!
In the quaint village of Bar Harbor - shopping, eating, movie theater, boat tours, golf, etc. In Acadia National Park - swimming, hiking, mountain climbing, bicycling, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, carriage riding, popover eating, exploring, and relaxing. In Otter Creek - lobster picnic at local market. You can also fish and check out the many villages and harbors that Mount Desert Island (MDI) has to offer.
