Worst experience in my life for a short-term (and I have more than 200 short-term stays).
The host has been dishonest since day 1, trying to find ways to get more money out of me (from either an 'early' check-in fee when I only check in 1 hour earlier to the complaint of an issue with a chair that was already damaged).
The apartment was not as described with only 2 lights working, dirty, poorly maintained, messy, no amenities, check-in was terrible (I had to sneak in the building and wait 20 minutes for someone to get in the building), check-out was as terrible, ...).

After several years of sharing my home never had to write a bad review.
My apt is super clean. I am a clean freak everything inc garbage cans are cleaned then I spray - just in case! Easy access never been a problem. All amenities are included. Can't help a grown man figure out how to use light switches - there are nine lights in the apt.
Kevin is ENTITLED, lies and is funny with the money. I saw the signs and ignored them.
I accepted his reservation but received an error. Turns out he canceled payment. Why would you do that after we went back n forth to agree to dates? It created the opp for him to suggest he save $$ and pay outside VRBO system. He created a nightmare with VRBO! Calendar was blocked and I am on phone till 1am trying to correct what he did.
Check in time is 3-6pm. He wanted to check in at midnight - sorry no can do. Then he wanted and expected to check in early the next day 10am - at my cost because I could not accommodate him.
My apt was left a mess. Never seen it like this. 30 days NO CLEANING? Bath was filthy, debris littered on floor, hair everywhere even on furniture, countertops, even behind bed - how does that happen? He used EVERY dish in the cabinet so he didn't have to wash dishes. The debris that littered floor were pieces torn off my office chair! Then he decided to check out late - no request just decided when he was leaving. Excessive AC usage - ConEd notified me! never happened before. He lied said my vacuum was broken - nope it worked fine.
Deep cleaning is extra fee - no charge
Late checkout - no charge
Depleted laundry card - no charge
Excess AC use - no charge
Damaged chair - CHARGE!
He was charged a whopping $114 to replace my chair minus depreciation. His rationale - I waited several years to get a big payout JUST FROM HIM for $114. The review is full of lies because I collected for the chair. Not sure if he had a pet in my home - lease violation.
Hosts - think again!
Stayed here for around 2 months when I was in the city for work. Chelsea was a great host and made my stay enjoyable, very responsive and made the check in and check out process very easy. The location is very convenient, with multiple supermarkets, barbers, laundromat, pharmacies, and gyms all within a few minute walking distance. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity, and the high line and subway are just a few blocks away, and also not too far from Hudson Yards and herald square for some shopping. The apartment itself is decently sized and has all the amenities you’d expect, and neighbours are usually quiet. Really enjoyed my stay overall and will stay again next time i’m in the city
