Private Cottage right on Possum Kingdom Lake

This one bedroom/one bathroom cottage is a great place for a family getaway. Relax under our spacious outdoor living area, while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake by day or spectacular stars at night. We have two kayaks and a paddle board available for our guests. This property offers privacy and a great way to get away from it all. Only two hours from the DFW area, right on beautiful Possum Kingdom lake. We allow pets ($75 pet fee) . With two sleeper sofas, this house sleeps 6. We have a fully equiped kitchen, kitchen table with seating for six and island with barstools. The covered patio has a dining table and chairs, as well as, an outdoor kitchen(grill/bar/sink/fridge) for enjoying your lakeside view your entire stay!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
If additional linens have been used from inside the sofa bed storage compartments, please pile by the washer in the front room. Do not use blankets or comforters without sheets.
Blankets and comforters should be folded and stored back in the compartment unless they need laundered. Please keep in mind that we do not have time to wash every blanket in the house for each stay.
Please wash and put away any dishes used before leaving.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please do not venture on to the neighbors property, boat ramp, or docks.
Please do not enter the hot tub with dirt and grass on your feet. If the hot tub is empty (June-Sept) do not attempt to fill and use.
Please make sure all trash is picked up from yard, patio and removed from the house upon departure.

Perfect! Everything was excellent. The lake and beautiful sunset was a beautiful site. It had everything you need. Forget something, no problem, it had all the little things from home. Even coffee pods. We celebrated our 50 th anniversary and it was perfect. Definitely will return!

Great stay and wonderful “glamping” getaway. House had all amenities needed, really enjoyed using the fire pit. Overall clean, but some of the extra blankets smelled of dog. Bring own drinkable water. Recommend SUV or Truck for getting to the property. Our sedan struggled with the dip at the entrance. Beautiful views at sunset and sunrise. Quiet and refreshing weekend.

The location was perfect. We were looking for somewhere quiet to unwind and this place was the most tranquil, quiet get away that we could imagine. Perfect place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of life. The place was very well equipped and very tastefully decorated. Relaxing in the hot tub while watching the sunrise and sunset was my idea of relaxing.

The house was fine. The road to get to the property was super narrow so if you have a big boat, you won't be able to get it down to the house. Also it's only about 3 feet at the dock, so keep that in mind. We weren't able to keep our boat at the dock. So it was a waste for us because we weren't able to use our boat there.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, I disagree with your assessment of the road and the water level at our dock. Our house is not the only home along this road and everyone has large boats that come up and down that road. Currently, the water level measures over 6 feet at the end of the dock.

We were looking for a quaint place to spend our wedding anniversary and were very pleased with this setup. The area was incredibly quiet when we were there, we fished and caught a ton of fish with minnows from the bait shop right up the road. Convenient restaurants within 10-15 minutes and more options in Graham. Very scenic, we spent most of our time on the patio or on the dock just enjoying the peace and quiet. We’d go back!

Our family has enjoyed this house on the lake for nearly 20 years. It's a great get away from the busy life we live in the DFW area. Now that our kids are a little older, we have very few weekends to spend at the lake, which is why we have made it available for other families and friends to enjoy. While being a vacation rental host has its challenges, we have learned a lot over the years and strive to provide a great lake experience for our guests!

Why they chose this property

This property is special because it is serene and remote. There are neighbors on each side of the property but are both family oriented groups of people. It's in a beautiful area of PK with not too much boat traffic speeding by - very relaxing!!
