THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Location, location, location! You won't find better than this!

Situated in Fitzroy Street, W1, we offer a top location in the heart of the West End in trendy Fitzrovia, a super central arty foodie paradise location with a villagey feel and Georgian architecture. The area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud. Today it is a popular and lively neighbourhood with a residential and business mix and a bustling art scene. Over 50 art galleries (10% of all those in London) operate here. The numerous media companies based in the area feed into a trendy and vibrant buzz.

Fitzrovia has more restaurants than you'll ever get to visit (with new ones popping up all the time). Michelin stars, British pub grub, easy Italians and sandwich shops. fish n chips, Peruvian cuisine, Chinese, Greek, Indian, Mexican, Filipino. We've got them all and everything in between.

If you fancy a bit of home cooking, several supermarkets are close by (including a good Sainsburys, Tescos, Marks and Spencers Food Hall, Waitrose and Planet Organic). There's even a farmers' market not too far away.

Tourist London is easily accessible on foot or by tube.

The local area is buzzing but the flat is in a quiet street so you get the best of both worlds. For entertainment, you have Theatreland close by, numerous cinemas, comedy clubs, late night bars, dancing and nightclubs.

If shopping appeals, you can shop till you drop in nearby Oxford Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Camden Market and Bond Street. They are all a walk away.

For outside life, neighbouring Fitzroy Square is a peaceful and pleasant place to enjoy a sandwich and watch the world go by.

Alternatively, it's a 10 minute walk to Regent's Park, a wonderful 410-acre open space offering stylish gardens with cafés, rose and wildlife gardens, a boating lake, sports facilities, an open-air theatre and zoo.

GETTING AROUND

You can walk to tourist London or take numerous transport options close by.

Our closest tubes are Warren Street, Goodge Street, Euston Square (all within 5 minute walk) and Tottenham Court Road and St Pancras (within a 10 minute walk)

Coming from Heathrow? Easy! Take the tube from Paddington direct to Euston Square

Coming from Gatwick? Easy! Take the tube from Victoria direct to Warren Street

Coming from Eurostar? Easy! Take a bus along the Euston Road or take the tube direct to Warren Street

We'll send an information pack with full directions and transport options.

Being so central, you can walk to all of tourist London. The British Museum is 10 minutes away. You've got Oxford Street / Soho very close by (a 10 minute walk), Covent Garden will take you about 15 minutes, Regent's Park about 10-15 minutes. Camden is a 5 minute bus ride. You can head in any direction and arrive somewhere interesting.

Numerous buses stop close by in Tottenham Court Road, Gower Street and Euston Road

You are in easy reach of all the sights.

Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square are an interesting 20 minute walk through Soho. Or just jump on the Northern line tube from Warren Street or Goodge Street and you'll be there in under 5 minutes.

Buckingham Palace is a 30 minute walk or a quick hop on the Victoria line (Warren Street through to Victoria @ 5 mins) or stop off at Green Park and enjoy the walk across one of London's famous parks to the palace.

The Northern line from Goodge Street takes you to Embankment in 5 minutes. From there you can walk along the river (5 mins) to Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Or catch the boat from Embankment along to the Tower of London or Greenwich. Walk across the footbridge to the London Eye and Southbank (or keep going one more stop on the tube to Waterloo).

About Liz

We are Liz and Jack. We look forward to welcoming you to London. We manage five holiday let properties in Fitzrovia, central London, as well as many long let properties. We know the area well and can thoroughly recommend it for its central location, great transport links (although you'll probably be mostly on foot as tourist London is very walkable!) and wide choice of bars and restaurants. It's a highly desirable neighborhood with beautiful architecture and interesting streets. People come from all over London to enjoy some Fitzrovia life. We're lucky enough to be based here and hope to see you here too! We have been letting our properties for the past 8 years. We hope we've perfected a warm and professional welcome. We're very happy to help with questions (before or during your stay) or to tailor any trip to suit your needs so just let us know if there's anything we can do. We look forward to seeing you in London!

Awesome location and responsive owner

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay. Very clear communication from Liz and all was as promised. Well-stocked kitchen (except for the really dull knives) and we appreciated the many fans. Very hot when we were visiting! Tried our best to keep the flat cool during the day by closing windows and pulling down the shades. Fabulous location! Thanks for a great stay.

Fantastic Apartment, Comfortable, Safe, Close to Shops, Restaurants, Metro

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a wonderful stay in this comfy apartment. It has two bedrooms (with a large bed in each room), and a fold out sofa bed in the living room. The apartment had free wi-fi and a netflix account, which was useful. The wi-fi felt a bit slow at times, but it was reliable for business emails and downloads. The kitchen was fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, coffeemaker, dishwasher, clothing washer/dryer, and more. The bathroom was good sized and had a heated towel rack.

During our stay we had everything we needed. The heaters worked well, the water temperature and pressure in the bathroom was great, and there were stores, restaurants, and coffee shops within two to three blocks for any items we wanted. Metro stops were also close by.

Liz is a fantastic apartment manager. When I had a confusion about the wi-fi, she answered promptly via email. When I had a confusion about the washer/dryer, she answered promptly again. Liz had already provided a very useful booklet that had instructions for the wi-fi and the kitchen appliances, I was just clarifying that I understood them correctly, and she was happy to help.

One of the friends I was traveling with was an older woman who was easily fatigued. On the last day of our trip, we were worried that she might need an extra day of rest before traveling. I emailed Liz and asked if we could stay an extra day. Even though the apartment was booked by other renters, Liz said she could accommodate us an additional day if we needed and she would just adjust the cleaning schedule so that it worked for everyone. We ended up leaving on our planned departure day, but it was wonderful to know that Liz was looking out for us. I would definitely book this apartment again.

Be aware that there are about ten steps up from the street to the elevator, so that may be an imposition if you are traveling with someone in a wheelchair, or someone who has difficulty climbing stairs.

Gorgeous flat in brilliant location

  • 5 of 5

We, a family of five, have just spent 10 days in this gorgeous flat. It is clean, modern, secure, great beds and well equipped with everything you need (even had hair straighteners!). London was in the grips of a cold snap during our stay, complete with snow storms, but we had no need to use the radiators. The flat was cozy and never cold. The shower worked perfectly (a rarity for many UK rentals), Netflix was wonderful after a busy day, and the wifi was quick and reliable. The security entrance was appreciated, particularly in the darker evenings. The location was perfect. We rarely used our Oyster cards, instead choosing to walk everywhere. It was a ten min walk to oxford st, 10 min walk to British Museum, 10 min walk to Regents Park, two min walk to the tube station. There are plenty of supermarkets and pubs nearby, and Charlotte St (the extension of the road the flat is on) is a gastronomic heaven, plenty of well priced restaurants and cafes.

Very clean and great location to the tube and major shopping areas.

Can be a bit noisy due to other bars etc, and can be hot during hot days.
