This is a wonderful property with a fantastic host. If you are like looking for a peaceful retreat with a hot tub, king bed, and a fantastic view of one of the Great Lakes, this is the property for you. I challenge you to find a these amenities at this price point in Ontario or Michigan. BTW, if you have never been to Port Stanley, it is an idyllic beach town that seems like something you would see in a movie.

Frances is absolutely an amazing host! We visited Port Stanley for a 2-day getaway trip and the town was absolutely lovely! It’s a charming port town with clean calm beaches and friendly people! The space has every amenity you would need for a getaway: blankets for the couch outside and one to sit on the beach with, towels, a grill, a fire pit, a TV, and a hot tub (it was malfunctioning so it was only warm when we arrived but there was nothing Frances could do because it was Thanksgiving). Overall we had a great stay, thank you Frances!!

The view from the patio and deck was absolutely amazing. Communication was great. The town of Port Stanley is delightful with a lot of restaurants, a coffee shop and ice cream shop and even a gluten free pasty shop - a bonus as I'm gluten free. The beaches were well taken care of and close. We went on several nature walks and rode the local train that took us to St. Thomas and back. However, the suite listing should make it clear that this is a smoking property. We could smell the stench of smoke every time we entered the suite from the outside. And when we returned, even our clean clothes smelled like smoke. Very disappointing.

We had a relaxing and romantic stay! The room was perfect and provided everything we needed, we loved hanging out in the serene and beautiful outdoor area. The kitchen had all we needed to make a delicious bbq dinner, and we were able to snuggle up in the comfy king sized bed and watch movies on the smart TV set up. The shower water was HOT just the way we like it, the water pressure was perfect. And Frances, provided a very warm and hospitable welcome to us, very gracious and respected our privacy. We would recommend, as we had such a memorable, magical weekend

Check in was fine. We were not aware it was a smoking facility.Except for the strong stale smoke smell. IT was fine. We did not use the hot tub. The view from the deck was lovely.

A blissful stay

Frances is the sweetest and made sure all our needs were met. The space is so cozy and truly feels like a slice of paradise. You have a gorgeous view of the lake, and the space itself has a fire pit and a hot tub. The suite was nice, had a cute kitchen, bathroom, and big bed. The suite also has AC and is super close to town. 12/10 recommend, especially for a lovers' getaway!

A slice of Canadian heaven

My wife and I ventured up from the US to stay here for a local music festival. This place was BEYOND perfect; you can pretty much walk anywhere, the view is nothing short of a dream. Our host was LOVELY and made us feel welcomed to Canada. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!

A beautiful getaway

We loved our stay. Cleanliness was our only issue. Some of the cups weren't properly washed, and there was urine on the toilet when we arrived. Aside from that, we absolutely enjoyed ourselves.

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway for 2. Location was great; easy walk to the beach and Port Stanley. Franny was a fantastic host and extremely warm and helpful. Kitchen is well stocked with essentials and more. Enjoyed the outdoor space and incredible views from the hot tub and patio.

Weekend wedding getaway

Our stay was lovely, Frances is a wonderful hostess. The property is set in a hillside over looking Lake Erie and had stunning views. The patio is fabulous. The unit is a walkout lower level of a home lived in by the owner. It was still very private but you are sharing a home. The home could use a deep clean to include the hot tub but overall our stay was very nice and we would recommend it.

My daughter and I stayed for a couple days . I was looking for peace and quiet and that is what I got . The place is comfy and has everything you need , all you have to bring is all that you want. I would definitely come back again. Frances is a wonderful hostess. Very punctual

Tranquil Hideaway

My wife and I spent several days in Port Stanley and booked the Suite Retreat as our home away from home. Our host Francis was a very friendly, gracious and accommodating host. She made us feel very welcome when explaining the Suite and the local area. When we went down, the first thing we noticed was the great view of the lake, one of the best in that area. The outdoors included a covered area with a daybed. Just after that was a covered hot tub area that was well kept. In front of this was a patio area that included a propane BBQ, table, chairs and umbrella. Just to the side of this was a propane fire pit and a walkway down to give access to Little Beach that was just down the road a little way. The windowed entrance had a coded door lock with a love seat inside and this led to a king-sized bed and to the right a kitchen with full fridge, stove, toaster oven, coffee pot and microwave. There was also a seating area for meals in front of the window looking out the back. Down the hallway was a walk-in closet for storage. The bathroom also had a extra-large shower and was well maintained and stocked. To conclude, the whole Suite, both inside and out, was well maintained, clean and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend the Suite Retreat to my friends and any others who may have an extended stay in Port Stanley or the surrounding area, as well as going back ourselves when the opportunity arises.

Lovely quiet getaway

Just perfect for two! Enjoyed the view from the hot tub as well as Frances the host is lovely. The listing was better than the listing suggested.

Private Oasis

My husband and I stayed at this property for our second wedding anniversary. The accommodations were comfortable and the location,excellent. 10-15 minutes from Little Beach and local shops but far enough away from the downtown to enjoys the peace and quiet at Suite Cottage Retreat.

Suite Retreat 40th anniversary stay

We were very pleased with the cleanliness and location. We stayed two nights and Frances was a wonderful host. She provided restaurant recommendations that were perfect. The free breakfast at Art and Soul was a nice surprise. It is a short walk to the beach. We would highly recommend staying here.
