About Judy Banks
This property is family owned. We use the home next door (Wheelhouse) as our private get away, The Wheelhouse is not included as part of the Starboard house vacation rental. We love the location in Lakeside, close to everything! Our family loves to fish the lakes, bays, rivers, & ocean water is our playgrounds! Our Mom purchased this vacation get away for her family. (Way to go MOM). A lot of love and work has gone into both houses. We hope you enjoy the Starboard house as much as our family does. Judy Banks is our wonderful manager 404.4004 to contact her please

As far as the property its self, it was ok. We have stayed at much nicer. It was plenty roomy. Being situated where it was just didnt feel like the get away we wanted. Having a bar next door with some rowdiness was annoying and the individuals using drugs under the overpass wasn't what I wanted my family around. The sheets on the beds had hairs on them when we pulled back the top covers.
The BBQ would have been a nice touch had it been clean prior to wanting to use it. It was covered with whatever someone else chose to char on to it. The utensils in the kitchen all needed washed. Still had food on some of them. The pet area is only ok for big dogs. Small dogs will get out. When reading bring paper products I assume that would mean paper plates and paper towels, not even toilet paper too. And the worse part was not having a good enough amount of water in the canal to enjoy the feel of a "lake house". Our boat barely made it through the canal.
The lake is drying up to the point we almost couldn't launch and reload our boat. (Ripped and destroyed a tire at the boat launch trying to). Overall it would have been nice with some more transparency from Judy when asked how the water level was. If I had known it was that bad i certainly would have chose a different vacation location.
Brittany, sorry your stay was not as you would of liked. We have stated in our information on the property that it is next to a tavern. With people under the bridge or anyone causing you concern Judy Banks is on call 24 hours a day to help you. As far as the sheet having hair on it & utensils being dirty, again Judy Banks would of taken care of this ASAP. All our other reviews have never brought up uncleanliness of our home. Also I talked to Judy and she is showing the cleaning staff your letter to get down to the bottom of things you found when you arrived. Anytime there is a slight problem or big problem Judy is there to help. We are replacing the BBQ as that one has seen its last legs. The pet area we have used for our small dogs 10lbs and they have not gotten out. I will check for any holes, thank you for letting us know. We leave enough T.P on the rolls so you have some for your first couple of days. I read Judy's E-mail to you and she stated that the lake was low and suggested using Ringo's marine less than `1/4 mile from the home and the state boat launch. We have had a exceptional dry season at the coast. Darby Campbell
Great access to Spinreel OHV Staging Area and the grocery store.
We stayed for four nights the week after Memorial Day weekend. We came with our UTV and spent four great days riding the dunes. We did fish a little and even managed to catch a few decent sized bass off our own personal dock. Fishing wasn't our top priority but if it had been this was also a great location for that as well. We did briefly use the provided canoe to fish some on the main lake, which was only a short paddle down the creek. The marina is located within walking distance to the property where you will find a friendly staff that rents boats and sells loads of fishing gear and tackle. There are several boat launch sites in close proximity to the home. The bar & grill next door prepared us a great dinner on our night of arrival. This was a welcome bonus as it was late and we had no food to prepare four ourselves. The grocery store across the road makes it convenient to procure all of your supplies. We found the house to be spacious and accommodating. There was ample parking for our truck and trailer and the gated lot offered a secure storage solution. There is good access to lots of coastal attractions in both directions up and down the coast.
Thank you for staying at our home in Lakeside, Oregon so glad you and your guest had a wonderful time on the dunes and fishing off our large dock. Thank you also for the wonderful review on our home! You left the Starboard house in wonderful condition and our cleaning crew really appreciates guests like you!
Perfect for our family gathering
This home was perfect for our family to come together and have our annual gathering. LOVED the game room area. Great place for the teenagers to hang out away from the adults. If the weather had been nicer, I am sure we would have utilized the deck and boat. Very convenient to have a small grocery store right across the street. It was a little noisy being right on the street and next to a bar but we expected that as we read previous reviews. This did not detract from our enjoyment. Easy to communicate with the owner and property manager. We hope to return.
Thank you for enjoying our home, so glad you had a wonderful time. We hope to see you again and that the weather will be better for you & your family to enjoy all TenMile lakes had to offer.
the house was so clean, roomy, and just plain nice.
Thank you for staying in our home, sure glad you found the home to your liking. Our Manager (Judy Banks) the cleaning staff work hard to keep such a large home clean and take pride in what they do. Will be glad to let them know their hard work was noticed and appreciated. Thank you Darby Campbell
Wonderful vacation home
We loved this home. Plenty of room and the large kitchen for dinner guests. This is on the canal with the lake around the corner ,a dock for our boat and the canoe, which is provided, is fun as well. The large deck also has a great good sized gas barb-b-que. The fishing was great , perch , bass and catfish ! The grandkids had a ball on the lake water skiing and tubing. Would highly recommend this for families
so glad you had a great time with your family. Its nice to have two lakes to play on! Thank you for your post. Darby Campbell
Wonderful Home For Family Get Together!
We had a great time - all three families - loved the size of the home, access to the water (we brought 3 kayaks with us) and access to the sand dunes, down the highway. We will likely stay here again, next summer!
GLAD YOU HAD A WONDERFUL TIME WITH ALL THE FAMILY AND THE HOME WAS LARGE ENOUGH... KAYAKS CAN GET ALONG GREAT IN THE LAKES AND IF THE WATER IS NOT TO HIGH OR LOW YOU CAN TAKE THE CREEK DOWN TO THE BEACH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT. DARBY CAMPBELL
WOW, right on the water at Ten Mile Lakes, your own boat dock. Huge deck for entertaining. Best lakes to bass fish. (That's right two lakes in one) Steelhead and salmon come right past the house on their way into the lake! Kayaking from the house to the ocean. (PLEASE CHECK WATER LEVEL BEFORE THIS ACTIVITY). Groceries just across the street (McKays). Full service marina (Ringos) just one block away. Up the Creek Tavren next door serves great food. You can be on the sand dunes in just minutes or Winchester Bay in 10 mins. Reedsport 15 and Coos Bay 20 mins. Great central location. Note (Tavren can be loud on some Thursdays when they have karioki and live band sometimes on Saturday nights.)
