Nice clean property. Close to beach and many activities. We had 5 , it it really made for 4. On sleeping on oversized couch. My only thing is staying in winter, place needed more interior lights.
Enjoyed the place.
We just wrapped up a fabulous weekend at this very nice beach rental. Easy walking distance to the beach, the deli, the mom-n-pop store, a nice restaurant, a pizza joint and a great dive bar!
We took full advantage of all this, plus saddled up the bicycles for some great biking up and down the Rio Del Mar Beach strip. Amazing people-watching and great views here! After this warm-up, we rode to Capitola, then all along Cliff drive all the way to The Boardwalk... it could NOT have been nicer! Put me down now... I'll be back!
Just finished a week at our favorite beach hideaway. This place is just charming and always immaculate! Love that it sleeps 6 because we always bring our kids and their grandparents with us. It is only steps to the beach and a nice walk to the Cement Boat. This is our 5th year of staying here and we can't wait to be back!
We rented this townhouse for a girls’ weekend. There were 5 of us; 3 adults and 2 teenagers. It was high season and we booked on short notice so the selection within our price range was limited. We stayed 3 nights. We have stayed in vacation rentals around the country before so, I believe, we had reasonable expectations. Having said all of that, the unit was a disappointment.
Pros: Location was good; two blocks from the beach; it was a good size; the two floors made for a good layout
Cons: There was no queen air mattress as stated in the posting; so instead of room for 6 to sleep there was really only room for 4 if the king bed was shared (we used the sofa and happened to bring a sleeping bag); the upholstered furniture was really dirty; there was no dishwasher (a requirement of check-out was to wash the dishes; we found dishes with traces of food already on them; guess previous guests didn't take that check-out rule too seriously); a few of the drawers in the kitchen were partially broken; there were ant traps on the kitchen counter with ants in them and crawling around them; the front patio furniture was in need of replacement; the mattresses on the twin beds were pretty soft or old (toppers had been added for support; same on king bed); there was no bathtub mat or appliques to prevent slipping in the shower (we all felt like we would slip and fall with every shower); no sheets and towels provided (we had to bring our own unless we wanted to pay for linens); 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels provided; instead of a locked owner's closet with the items not to be used by guests the main closet was full of jackets, a stack of dishes had a handwritten label saying "do not use" taped to them and the linen closet was unlocked and full of, what I presume to be, the linens we would have paid for had we chosen that route; one closet had a stack of blankets and bedspreads stacked up (we weren't sure if they were to be used or part of the paid linen).
We weren’t looking for luxurious accommodations. Clean and well maintained would have been nice. This is rented through a property manager. They should speak to the owners about putting a little time into their unit if they want to rent it out and have people want to return.
We had a great time just being together on vacation. The place didn’t get in the way of our fun. HOWEVER, we won’t be back to this property and won’t recommen
