We had a great time at the Sea Bishop. The accommodations are rustic but clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and a lots of space to spread out. Loved the local beach. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a great time at port Joli sea Bishop. We captured beautiful sunrise and sunset. Our accommodations were very nice, just a short drive and we visited several places such as lockport and the beautiful beach. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife and were too slow to take pictures
Enjoyed the historic house , I think pre 1800, beautifully restored and furnished, and the unspoiled surroundings, stunning beaches, wonderful trails to walk.
Our host, Janalyn and her team went out of their way to make our stay so comfortable.
We enjoyed a long weekend at The Sea Bishop. The Keji Seaside trails leading to the beach were a short drive or bike ride away and really nice. you can hear the ocean from the house, as well as the seals. The house itself has loads of character and made for a fun stay
Our stay was heavenly. Lovely incredibly spacious 2-floor cottage that had everything we needed and was so comfortable for sleeping (great beds), for hanging out, and for cooking. There wasn't anything we couldn't find, or missed.
The location was superb...lovely quiet road and so close to a lovely hike through a national park that leads you to a pristine beach.
Janalyn, our host, was incredibly helpful and even had tips for our drive up there, given she was familiar with the route from Montreal to Port Joli.
We really hope we can repeat this trip!

We were delighted to have Alison and her family stay at the Sea Bishop. Would love to host them again.
The house is charming and very large. Nice location close to some of the best beaches and wilderness. Worth a stay but for the price the home could use some updating. Lighting is inadequate. There should be a railing on the steep stairs. The owner does not live locally but the woman who cares for the home is wonderful.

Dear Lindsey,
Thank you for the feedback. It is always helpful.
I have just purchased new lamps for the master bedroom. And updates are scheduled for this coming offseason period. Please come again!

Port Joli adventure
We booked 2 weeks at this vacation house. There is lots of space for an extended family vacation. We were 4 adults and 2 young children. The local beach is a kilometre away and the area is very quiet. Unfortunately, the home experienced a significant leak during a heavy rainfall. The repairs were going to be quite extensive so we ended up moving to another rental property for our last 6 nights. The host did refund part of our payment.

,Strandhaus,

Dear Kathrin and Steffi,
I am very sorry that there was road work during your stay. This was not announced and I was unaware that this was taking place during your stay as you did not reach out to me to make me aware of this, or any other issues that you were having!
I could have given you clearer directions to the Port Joli Beach public access - 1 KM away.
Additionally, I had contacted you to request access for an appliance repair person to service the house and you requested that I have them come only after you left - as you did not want to be disturbed - and assured me that all was fine.
The house is furnished with antique dishes, and some may have glazing faults that come with the age.
I am very sorry that you were disappointed with your stay in what is an unquestionably a unique and beautiful part of NS South Shore.
I am certain heavy road work played a large part in this and again, I regret that I had no control over this occurrence.
I love this part of the province and think the house helps visitors deepen their experience with a vast selection of books about the area, and artifacts that celebrate the past. And the house is gorgeous with lots of amenities. But my problem with it was there are amenities listed on the VRBO site that weren't there, and while it may seem trivial, it impacted our stay because we would have brought them with us. I'm also some-one who wants to be outside all the time. But unfortunately this was a bad year for bugs, and without a screened in porch or gazebo, it was intolerable unless we were on the beach. Not the fault of the property owners, but something that could be addressed in the future.
We rented this cottage for 6 nights & really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful cottage & is well maintained & well equipped. The interior felt like we were in a cottage in Europe. The location is a great base to explore Thomas Raddall Provincial Park, Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct, Carters Beach, Summerville Beach & White Point Beach. It was great having the full kitchen & a large table inside & a picnic table outside for meals, especially as dining during the pandemic is more challenging with a toddler. Communication with Janalyn was easy & she was wuickly responsive to My questions. Overall, we had a fantastic time!
We had a wonderful stay! It was perfect for an extended family.

This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.
