About #1- Linda Todd

Our large familly moved to Oahu 14 years ago and love this side of the island very much. We originally bought this property with a tiny house and so, of course, my good husband decided to 'add-on' (that turned out to be a 5,000sq. ft. 'add-on'. LOL Because he has been building homes since his late teens, he wanted to pour all his experience, high standards and good taste into this property/home. The results are Hale Lokahi Estate!

#1- Linda Todd purchased this estate in 2001

Why #1- Linda Todd chose North Shore Oahu

Choosing to stay at Hale Lokahi Estate offers a peaceful, tropical, country feel, a chance to dig in the sand of the beach, or enjoy evening visits with family and friends. Outside entertainment is easy here, with the lanai's and the spacious lawns.

What makes this estate unique

Hale Lokahi Estate has lots of space to spread out, play group games, hold a party or small event, or just gather your extended family together to enjoy being with each other for awhile. And the nice thing is, the sleeping areas are close but private from the 'gathering' areas.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Aloha Linda,

First off, I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful stay at your hauula rental this past weekend.

Everyone really enjoyed the property and the house was in great condition and suited our needs perfectly.

Your daughter Kara was very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. She was great to work with! Please thank her for us as well.

Again, we were so happy with our stay and can't thank you enough. Everyone is looking forward to our tournament again next year in May.

Excellent all around.

Fabulous house and property. Lots of space for our family reunion (23 people, aged 18 months to 72). The separate sleeping zones (clusters of bedrooms at opposite ends of the house, plus sleep-out) accommodated all of us without feeling like we were on top of each other. The two kitchens made it easy for us to manage large family meals, and the spacious living room and deck area made it easy to hang out together and/or in multiple separate groups. The location on the North Shore offers easy access (by car) to lots of activities from snorkeling, to hiking, to watching the big surf beaches etc; and its an easy 3 min walk from the house to the nearby beach for quick swims. Linda (and family) were very welcoming and helpful from the initial booking through to our final departure, assisting whenever needed. The property was exactly as advertised and I recommend it to others without hesitation.

We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect! Both Jim and Linda were extremely helpful and very easy to work with. The house is incredibly beautiful and well stocked with everything you would need! Hopefully in the future we can stay again!

Phenomenal Property - offers incredibly hospitality and comfort

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. As others have said this place is quite, clean, and secluded. Even though the neighbors might be close you don't even know they are there because of where the house is located and the layout. We spent many a morning on the deck just sitting back drinking our coffee and enjoying the singing of the birds and the roosters. If we needed anything or had a question, Linda was readily available to assist us. We brought in 30 guests for a wedding in the backyard -it was a wonderful, intimate celebration of love. Its the perfect venue for a smaller wedding group. We brought in several vendors and the back kitchen is wonderful for chef options. Everything was great, owner was very accommodating, place was very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. More towels than you could shake a stick at, for instance. Place was clean and the kitchen was LOADED with equipment. This property has everything you will need and feels very comfortable. The surroundings are very private and off the beaten path. If you love a serene setting, you will want to stay here. We found it to be very well equipped for all of our needs and quite frankly - we were blessed to discover this place. The beach nearby is wonderful and there was a trampoline installed on some old piers which provided endless fun and laughs. Once in a lifetime - type of property - one that calls you back and makes your heart happy. Book it!

Love was all around when family and friends gathered for a Wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5

It was a beautiful location to bring family and friends together for a private celebration. Room enough for all. 3 lovely lawn areas that could be separated or joined for ceremony and/or reception. We put up a tent, but the weather turned out perfect, complete with a full moon that night. Our party included both young millennial types and senior citizens who could retire early upstairs and not be bothered by any ongoing partying. The house was big enough to accommodate all the groupings. Wonderful venue It was the backdrop of many beautiful memories. The only minor flaw was that the outside bathrooms for party guests did not have sinks. We made do with hand sanitizers. Owner Jim Todd was always nearby to resolve any problems and to volunteer extra help where needed. Thanks for everything.

Felt like home!!

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful and spacious property that fit about 30 of us comfortably!! Me and my now husband were searching for a place to fit most of our family who were flying into Oahu for our wedding in Kaneohe. It was nice to have everyone together in one place (7 nights). We didn't feel cramped at all! As soon as you walk through the door into the main living area you are in awe of the beautiful open space. Everyone enjoyed it for sure. Every morning I would find my aunts dancing in the kitchen while cooking breakfast. I've never seen them so excited! The kitchen was well equipped for our needs and it was helpful that there are 2 fridges. It was so nice to open the lanai doors and eat our meals outside with everyone. The backyard is huge and a great area for the kids to play. It's about a 1 hr drive down to Honolulu/Waikiki but the drive up to the house is so scenic that it didn't bother us. Also, all the best beaches and food trucks are close by the house. There' a supermarket (Tamura's) a couple minutes away but I would suggest buying most of your groceries at Walmart or Costco. Linda was very prompt in answering all my questions and was helpful in all her recommendations. Kara, the owner's daughter, showed us around upon our visit. She was also a phone call away when we had any problems. We had rented 2 other houses nearby for our extended family but unfortunately the hospitality wasn't as friendly and accommodating as the Todds. If you're looking for a place to fit your large group or even have your wedding, this is the won't be disappointed!! We created many memories here and we can't wait to come back!!

A great place for our family vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay (7 nights) at this beautiful property. There were 24 of us (10 adults and 14 kids) and it was perfect for us. We had plenty of bedroom and bathroom facilities, and with 2 kitchens, meal preparation was easy when we ate at the house. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The kitchens were well equipped with everything we needed and more. Kara, the owner/manager, was very helpful and always so happy and cheerful. It was nice having her close by in case we needed something. The location was perfect for us because we spent most of our time around Laie and the north shore sites. It is a bit of a drive to Pearl Harbor and the other things around Honolulu, but it just depends on where you want to go and what you want to do. If we ask for anything different it would be to have air conditioning in the back bedrooms on the ground floor. There were plenty of fans, but those three bedrooms were quite warm in comparison to the others equipped with room air conditioning. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would happily do it again. Thanks so much, Kara, Linda, and Jim!!

Owner's Response: We are so happy you and your family/group had a great time. We love that side of the island but run back and forth all the time to Honolulu to get extra things we need (it usually is only a 1 hour trip). Yes, we have recently realized that the front bedrooms really need cooling and air conditioning is the top item on our 'to-do' list to make them much more comfortable. Mahalo for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you next year!
