Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing and did not match the “luxury” description in the listing.The biggest issue was that several major amenities and parts of the home were either dirty, broken, or unusable. The sauna door was missing, and the cold plunge was dismantled and not working, which was especially frustrating because those amenities were the main reason we booked this property. None of that was disclosed in the listing.The home also was not clean when we arrived. The floors were filthy, there was old coffee and coffee grounds left in the coffee maker, laundry detergent was spilled on the floor in the laundry closet, and there was even a dirty towel stuck to the wall behind the couch. The slate tile floors were broken and splintering in areas, which felt like a serious safety hazard. Several cabinet push latches were broken, so cabinets would not open properly, and a broken staircase window leaked water onto the floor when it rained.To be fair, the host company was extremely responsive and acknowledged that these items were broken or not working. They said parts had been ordered but were backordered and they were waiting to get everything fixed. They also offered to send someone to clean, but by that point I had already cleaned myself because scheduling another cleaning would have been more hassle and inconvenience during our stay.I’m sure this property may have been beautiful a few years ago, but in its current condition, it did not feel luxury.

We would like to provide some context regarding the overall experience. This is a large, thoughtfully designed home with updated spaces, comfortable accommodations, a full kitchen, multiple gathering areas, and unique amenities such as the sauna and cold plunge. These features are part of what makes the property special, and we have continued to invest in maintaining and improving the home. We certainly understand your disappointment regarding the sauna and cold plunge. Those amenities were undergoing repairs at the time of your stay, and parts were already being sourced. Unfortunately, some replacement components were backordered, which delayed the repairs. We understand that this was particularly frustrating because you specifically looked forward to using these amenities. We also take your comments regarding cleanliness and maintenance seriously. While we strive to have every property thoroughly prepared before each arrival, there were clearly areas that fell short during your stay. Our team offered to send someone to address the cleaning concerns, and we regret that you had already taken care of them yourself before that could be arranged. We have shared this feedback with our cleaning and maintenance teams so these issues can be prevented going forward. At the same time, we feel it is important to recognize that the property offers much more than the few items that were unfortunately unavailable during your stay. The home provides spacious accommodations, multiple areas for guests to gather and relax, modern conveniences, and distinctive amenities designed to create an elevated experience. We are continuously maintaining and upgrading the property rather than allowing these temporary maintenance issues to define its overall condition. We also appreciate that you acknowledged how responsive our team was and that we communicated with you about the issues, the parts being ordered, and our efforts to get everything resolved. We take guest concerns seriously and work to respond as quickly as possible when something unexpected comes up. We’re sorry the stay did not provide the experience you were hoping for, but we appreciate the feedback and the opportunity to continue improving the home for future guests.

I’ll start with the positives! The host was great with information and responsiveness. The decor was updated and modern and the house had all the essentials. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable and the master bath was nice. The digital game table was a fun little feature. It was in close walking distance to many restaurants and shops. For the price we paid and it being described as “luxury” we did not feel it was worth what we paid. On the same day as our arrival we were informed the plunge pool was non functional and we couldn’t use that. For us the whole selling pint of a sauna was the plunge pool after to cool off so that was disappointing. The rooftop area was messy and the wood on the little bar was nothing but peeling paint. The fire table we tried to turn on just sounded like water was in it and unable to use that. We found hair and some plastic trash in the showers/bath tubs and a dirty wash cloth behind the bath tub. The little balcony out front had cigarette butts left behind/ ashes / and burnt matches on it. There was a very large crack / break in the tile on main level that could very easily cut a bare foot. Also if you have trouble with stairs just be aware there are many flights of narrow stairs to get up to most of the bedrooms. The big glass doors that lead to the upstairs outside patio are extremely difficult to open and close. If my husband wasn’t with us we would have had not been able to shut that door. Not “luxury” and overpriced.

The plunge pool was unfortunately unavailable due to a maintenance issue, and we understand that this was disappointing, especially since you were looking forward to using it after the sauna. We recognize that this affected your experience and appreciate your understanding while we work to have it restored. Regarding the rooftop and fire table, these are areas we are continuing to maintain and improve. We’re also addressing the cleaning concerns you noted, as the home should be properly prepared for every arrival. The tile and patio door concerns have been noted as well so they can be evaluated and addressed. At the same time, we want to emphasize that the home does offer many of the features and amenities guests value in a luxury stay, including updated furnishings and finishes, comfortable premium bedding, a spacious master bath, a digital game table, multiple outdoor areas, and a prime location within walking distance of restaurants and shops. We’re disappointed that the property did not feel like a good value to you, but we appreciate the opportunity to use your feedback to continue improving the guest experience.
