A Slice of Heaven
What an amazing home!! Looked like a Southern Living cover. Secluded with a spectacular view of the river. Tons of room. Extremely spacious. We loved the deck, upstairs covered porch, and the lovely sunroom. There were 10 adults and we all said it was one of the best places we had ever stayed. Could use some painting and pressure washing or I'd give it a 5 but we quickly forgot about that as we were having so much fun. Will be back!
We are so happy you had such a lovely time at the New River Lodge! And thank you for noting the need for a spruce up in paint/power-washing. We hope to see you again soon!
Wonderful Thanksgiving Gathering!
We joined our kids and grandkids for a Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration at New River Lodge. Everyone greatly enjoyed this home and our stay! The layout and anemities enabled all to be comfortable with room to roam. Coffee on the porch over looking the river was a favorite. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked, beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. We want to come back and intertube down the river in the summer! Took the nearby New River Trail (rails to trails) for a hike with the kids and it was a hit. Next day, rented some bikes in Fries and biked another section of the trail into the town of Fries. Perfect! All in all, New River Lodge and hosts, Amy and Susie were just great! We hope to be back!
Thank you Gayle! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again soon!
Enjoyed the beautiful riverside home for second time!
Great place to host large family gatherings. Two items of note: we lost electricity last night for two+ hours and water/plumbing stopped working. Also, it would be great to have a working wifi available.
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous home! We will be back!!
Hi Ben -- thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you back. Very sorry you experienced a power outage!
Perfect for multi-family gatherings. Spacious home with gorgeous views!
We were in town for my son's wedding, and had family and friends coming in to celebrate with us. This house offered everything we needed and more! The bedrooms are perfect for families-the extra space and day beds allowed each of us to have our own family space without crowding the main areas of the home. The kitchen was huge and perfect for cooking for a crowd! The porches with beautiful views were so lovely! We all enjoyed our stay so much, and this beautiful home made it so comfortable! We will definitely book again in the future! Just perfect!
Nice large house with room for large groups, with beautiful view of the New River.
Beautiful location with lots of room along with being well provisioned. There were nine of us staying at the house while we were riding the New River Trail and Virginia Creeper Trail. Everyone really enjoyed our stay there. My only suggestion is that the exterior of the house be spruced up.
Awesome vacation getaway
This place is amazing. Excedllent for large family or groups.Second time we have stayed here sand it was just as grat as first time.
Everything you need is provided. Loved the lock box. Great location for our daily tubing adventure and not far to where we went for kayaking. My 85 year old Dad had a ball and I had trouble keeping up with him. Thanks for an awesome and unforgettable family vacation.
