About this property
Sunny Lake Whatcom Waterfront Pvt 200' Beach/Dock/Boat Launch/Kayaks/SUP/Hot Tub
Relax and enjoy spectacular waterfront sunsets year round from our beautiful, peaceful lakefront home. Only 10-15 minutes from Bellingham's core areas, yet a million miles away from the rush of city life. Our home is ideally located on a dead-end road, in a very quiet section of the highly sought-after sunny side of the lake. We enjoy bright sun well into the evening year round. Our home is perched just above the lake at an ideal elevation - high enough to offer an unparalleled, panoramic view of the lake removed from any boat noise, but low enough to be just steps away from our private beach. We have wonderful neighbors, but our property is so private that you may never see them.
Constructed of cedar logs and situated on 1.1 park-like acres with over 200 feet of no bank private water front, our spacious home feels like a resort lodge. The house includes 4 large bedrooms plus a loft, a bright well-equipped kitchen, a large open living area with floor to ceiling windows, a recreation/home theater room, and a large jacuzzi/soaking tub. We can sleep 10 in real beds (4 queens, 1 double). A large dining table just off the kitchen on the expansive deck provides a great spot for alfresco dining. Our study is equipped with a large built-in desk, high speed internet connection and printer. In addition, we have high speed wireless access throughout the house. With lots of southern exposure the house is bright and sunny year round, offering spectacular views from almost every room.
There is no shortage of recreational activities. Two kayaks and a small aluminum fishing boat are available to explore the water in our backyard. If you'd like to bring your own ski boat, we have a dock and one of the few private boat launches on the lake. Our spacious private beach is double the size of most other lakefront properties in the area. It includes a large dock, fire ring, two picnic tables, a BBQ, lots of seating and plenty of space for waterside relaxation and games. As is true with most properties in our section of the lake, the house is set across the road from the beach and at a slight elevation, which affords stellar views, peace and privacy. The beach is just steps across a very low traffic, quiet road and can be accessed via a set of stairs from the house. Those with mobility issues can conveniently drive right up to the beach.
On rainy days, you can choose from a large library, a wide selection of family games, or a home theater room with a 62' television, X-Box 360 and a large collection of video games, Blu-Ray and DVDs. On the main level, the large open living room has a stereo, but no television, and is a great place to curl up with a book by or just enjoy the panoramic view through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
There are many great spots to escape with a good book or just to enjoy the view and the wildlife (eagles, deer, and geese are all frequently sighted). You can also fish from the dock or enjoy a scenic walk on the 3 mile long lakeside trail that starts a short stroll from our home. Keep in shape with a well-equipped home gym (elliptical, recumbent bike, and free weights). Take a bike ride along the lake. Golf on one of Bellingham's many excellent courses. Ski or snowboard at Mt Baker. Or best yet, simply relax on the expansive deck with family, friends and your beverage of choice. Whatever your interest, there is something here for everyone in every season.

This home is in a gorgeous location with beautiful views. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds are very comfortable! It was a perfect weekend getaway for our group of ladies looking to unwind, hang in the hot tub, and chill by the fire. We’d definitely stay again. Big thanks to our hosts!
The home was perfect for a girls getaway. Enough room for 6 ladies. Sure would be a gem in the summer to utilize the amazing waterfront. The sauna and hot tub were great! Only issue were the carpets and the downstairs couch. Showing the carpet age (white probably wasn't a great choice) and wasn't cleaned well. We found several items on the living room carpet and food stuffed in the downstairs couch.
We had a really incredible stay at this Lake Whatcom house. The kitchen was really well equipped, and we were so grateful that there were plenty of chairs and good seating options in the dining and living room options. The directions and communications were clear and very helpful, and the view was absolutely spectacular. We are so grateful for the opportunity to spend the weekend together and thank you for your hospitality!
I loved our stay. The house is well equipped for a big group including kitchen/cookware/spices. We couldn’t get over the beautiful views! Thanks for hosting, I’d love to come back in the summer months to use the waterfront.

Claire,
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the kind words. Please keep in mind that summer (June, July, Aug, and September) do tend to get booked months in advance.
The quiet location, beautiful views and spacious home were perfect for a ladies weekend getaway. We enjoyed making meals in the well-appointed kitchen and eating, crafting and puzzling around the large dining table. The living room with its river rock gas fireplace was ideal for morning coffee and evening conversations. There was so much to do at this VRBO. We could have used another day or two to fully enjoy the pool table, foosball table, infrared sauna and home theater spaces.Overall, this was a comfortable property for a group of six to stay at during the winter months.
The house was amazing. Great views of the lake and mountains. It was so quiet and peaceful, even though there are several homes nearby. There was plenty of space for everyone, even had playpens for my 11 month old grandson. The host was extremely helpful in providing areas to visit and trails to hike.
This house was a great place for our group of friends to stay for the weekend. The only problem was we didn’t book it for longer. We enjoyed the hot tub, jumping in the lake, and the view. Can’t wait to return
Generally good however the beds should be upgraded to King size and housekeeping should pay closer attention to vacuuming (we found dust and paper underneath our beds).
The property was beautiful and the kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pans/cooking equipment and serving dishes. A few more chairs on the deck would have been appreciated.
We had a great time! The space was clean, in a gorgeous location with great amenities. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and spacious bedrooms. Great communication with the hosts as well.
Our second time back to this wonderful home and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. A nice relaxing break during the busy holiday season. Highly recommended.
Family had a great time spending time together in this beautiful lakefront location. Rooms very well laid out to provide comfortable areas for everyone and to enjoy the view.
We all loved staying here! Previous to coming, we had planned many activities however, once we arrived we only left “our lake home” for hikes, groceries and one dinner at a restaurant! We had so much fun at the beach and in the home! The home was perfect for our family, ages 1-74. Communication with Jaret was exceptional. I highly recommend this beautiful home!
