About Joyce

We moved to Whidbey in 1982 after our time in the Peace Corps in Africa. After careers in human services and education, as well as raising our sons, we bought the Jenne Farm to preserve it from development. We've enjoyed entering the world of agriculture and sharing the gathering house with our guests!

Joyce purchased this farmhouse in 2000

Why Joyce chose Coupeville

Coupeville and Ebey's Landing are special places, as many from the Puget Sound area realize. There is history and beauty here that is completely unique and genuine. The Jenne Farm is located in the middle of this wonderful community and provides guests to share in its wonder.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Guests enjoy the quality and unique characteristics of a well-built 1908 home. All of the floors and molding are old-growth Douglas Fir from the early 1900s. The ornate staircase is straight out of a novel. There are sliding wooden doors between the gracious parlor, fireplace room, and dining room. The butler's pantry is the kind you have dreamed of having, complete with a cabinet pass-through to the dining room. All is cozy and comfortable with hot water radiators and a propane fireplace. If your children have never been in a place where they can collect eggs, run and explore freely, see eagles in the trees and hear coyotes and frogs at night, this is the place for you!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for such a lovely stay! We absolutely LOVE it here and can't wait to return!

the spaciousness of the property, farm animals & tractor driving were highlights for all

  • 5 of 5

Grateful to stay in this 1908 farmhouse with enough beds for the 10 of us, great family time with our 3 generations. A highlight was the hospitality of Farmer Fran showing us his farm animals, answering all the children's questions, and allowing them to co-pilot the tractor with 13 of us in tow!

Gave a couple very minor suggestions for housekeeping improvements which will be made. Grateful for the owners sharing their grand home!

Great stay at Jenne Farm

  • 5 of 5

The house and setting at Jenne Farm was beautiful, and the house was just the right size for our group. Everything was well organized and it was easy to follow "house" directions. There were many accessible activities in close proximity, from the beach to hikes to the farmer's market in historic Coupeville, to good restaurants. In a word, the stay was great!

Charming farmhouse, great for a group!

  • 5 of 5

We make an annual trip with two other families and our stay the Jenne Farm has been the best! The kids loved playing with the goats and taking a ride on the tractor. The house has all the amenities to make it special for a group spending time together. None of us wanted to leave. Thank you for the hospitality!

The best time ever...

  • 5 of 5

We knew the farm was the place for our wedding. The house is beautiful inside and out. The grounds are wonderfully maintained. Our kids and their kids loved staying in such a historic house. The little kids enjoyed feeding the animals. We will be back for many years to come. Special memories were made, thank you for sharing Jenne with us.

Family Christmas Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for a week at the Jenne Farm at Christmas time. The house was so inviting with the tree up and it had such a wonderful "home away from home" feel. The grand children loved choosing their bedrooms and loved playing games and having homestyle meals at the beautiful dining room table.

Our adult children enjoyed cooking meals together in the large well stocked kitchen and getting fresh produce and "real' cows milk in bottles from the local grocery store. There was ample room for everyone to congregate or slip away fro a quick nap or some alone time to recharge his or her battery.

We loved taking long or short walks around the property, seeing the goats and chickens and taking great family photos.

This Gramma really loved the "no TV" feature. there was wifi but all kept the technology to a minimum so we could visit, play together and really spend time reconnecting.

The Jenne Farm is our favorite place to gather as a family!
