About the property

2 bedroom and 1 1/2 bathroom house with mountain views.

The cabin is high on the sunny side of the mountain in Cascade with really nice views. It is easily accessible from Highway 24 without the sight and noise of the highway. It is centrally located to many of the attractions in the area, including North Pole/Santa's Workshop, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek.

The cabin has 2 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a queen size bed and a half bath. The other bedroom also has a queen size bed and if needed, a twin roll away bed. The full bath and the half bath have been remodeled. We supply the toilet paper, Kleenex, towels and washclothes.

The kitchen has also been completely remodeled including cabinets, counter tops and most appliances have been updated. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee pot, toaster, plates, silverware, cups, glasses, utensils, mixing bowls, cookware, a blender and a hand mixer. We supply salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash, various other spices, plastic wrap, plastic baggies, paper towels and foil.

The living room has a fireplace insert, perfect for those chilly nights.

There is a front porch with a porch swing over looking a small yard with a 4 ft. semi-private wood fence and nice mountain views. There is a carport to park your car.

It is a 5 person maximum occupancy.

The rent is $150.00 per night and a 3 night minimum. We will only consider 2 nights to fill in spaces where available in peak season. If you rent it for 7 nights or more the rent is $125 per night. We have to charge a small county tax of 5.13% and a $300.00 damage/cleaning deposit that is refundable if the place is left in good, clean condition. We don't charge up front for a cleaning fee like most places do. If you clean it and leave it like you found it, no charge. If you don't clean it, a cleaning fee of $50.00 per hour will be deducted from your cleaning/damage deposit. We don't ask you to oil the paneling or wax the floor, just clean up what you messed up. We wash the sheets and towels so you don't have to.

*Sorry, rates are firm, water is very expensive in Cascade.*

We will consider ONE well behaved, house trained dog of any size by approval only. We have a very specific dog policy: If your dog is left alone in the cabin, they must be kenneled/crated. They cannot be left alone outside in the small yard due to the risk of wildlife, etc. They are not permitted on the beds or furniture at anytime. Please let us know if you want to bring a dog and what kind it is when you inquire about renting the cabin.

*Cats are not accepted, no exceptions. We love them but too many people are allergic and this would require a major deep cleaning. It would be very time consuming and costly*

We are hands on owners that do all of our own cleaning and maintenance, sorry we don't have staff! We are hard working, responsible, honest and have integrity and are looking for renters who are also responsible, honest and have integrity (a sense of humor is a plus!) If you have these qualities please inquire about our cabin...if you do not, please rent a motel!

It's just like home, the sheets might be little wrinkled only ours are clean! Come check it out!

About Jeanette Heisch

Darell's dad, Henry, built this house in 1955 and together with his wife, Dona, they raised 3 boys here. There are lots of memories and stories here.

Jeanette grew up in Chipita Park, just down the road. Darell went the first 3 years of school to the little old school house which is now the Cascade Library. We both went to Ute Pass Elementary School in Chipita Park and then went to Manitou Jr. High and high school. We now live in Colorado Springs.

After Darell's parents passed away we wanted to buy it because it's such a special place. We decided to share it with other people and we hope everyone will enjoy it as much as we do.

One bedroom has a firm bed while the other bedroom has a pillowtop and is softer. We also provide a 'Play and Pack' for infants and a highchair/booster seat.

There is no need for air conditioning because the back of the cabin is built into the bank and it keeps a nice cool temp in the summer but also stays warm in winter. There are some ceiling fans and some portable fans in the bedroom closets.

Beautiful, cozy home.

Jeanette was such a pleasure to work with and informative about things to do in the area. The home was so beautiful and welcoming. She went out of the way to make us feel welcome with a goody gift not only for us but had homemade treats for our four legged family member as well. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area.

Lovely and cozy cabin

We loved the cabin, it’s very cozy and has a beautiful view. Jeanette is an amazing host and she was constantly in touch with us, making recommendations and coordinating our arrival. Great place. Would absolutely recommend this place if you are in the region.

Excellent communication

Perfect location from where to enjoy accessing all the fun things to be had surrounding Pikes Peak and the Manitou Springs region. Comfortable beds, nice floor plan, and very nicely appointed. I would not hesitate to return for a repeat visit in the future.

Heisch's Haven was a great place to stay. Clean and comfortable, and what a great location. Central to all of the area attractions. I recommend it to anyone visiting the Pikes Peak area.

There is some hiking and biking in the Ute Pass area. Across Highway 24, you'll find Wines of Colorado for good food and spirits. Or take the kids to the North Pole/Santa's Workshop on the Pikes Peak toll road. Take a drive to the top of Pikes Peak.

Drive down Ute Pass 3.5 miles to Manitou Springs for a day of shopping, eat in one of the many restaurants or bars, play games at the old Penny Arcade, take the Cog Railway up Pikes Peak, visit Miramont Castle or the Iron Springs Melodrama.

On Highway 24 above Manitou visit the Cave of the Winds and The Cliff Dwellings.

You can hike or bike on one of the many trails in the Garden of the Gods or climb on the red rocks. Close by is Old Colorado City for more shops, dining and bars.

Head to downtown Colorado Springs for shops, dining and a little night life. Also, there is the Pioneer's Museum, the Fine Arts Center, the U.S. Olympic Training Center, the World Arena, or the Air Force Academy located north of Colorado Springs on I25. On the south side of 'The Springs' is the Seven Falls, the famous 5 star Broadmoor Hotel, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Cheyenne Canon for hiking or Fort Carson.

West on Highway 24 from Cascade, is Green Mountain Falls which is a charming small town that offers a fishing pond with a gazebo. The Pantry for really good breakfasts. The Mucky Duck around the corner offers fine dining. Or visit the Blue Moose Tavern for drinks and play some pool, they are dog friendly too.

Go further west on Highway 24 a few minutes, you'll find Woodland Park which has shops, dining, bars, a Dinosaur Museum, a bowling alley, grocery stores, City Market, Safeway and Walmart, gas stations, fast food and a movie theater.

Drive the scenic highway to Cripple Creek for a day/night of gambling or ride the Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad.

No up front cleaning fees like most places have. Clean the cabin well, no charge otherwise a cleaning fee is deducted from your damage/cleaning deposit.

We supply: sheets, towels, paper towels, T.P., Kleenex, lots of spices including salt and pepper, foil, plastic wrap, baggies, hand soap, dish soap.

You will need: shampoo, body soap, food, drinks and yourselves! Oh and clothes of course!

No credit will be will be given for shortened stays due to any reason. No cancellations or refunds due to weather.

Cancellations 14 days or more of scheduled arrival date will receive 100% refund. Cancellations 7 days or less will forfeit 50% of rental fees. (Please read our entire rental agreement).

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
