The elegant Grand Manor, built in 1905, a true southern tropical mansion. Luxurious amenities seamlessly blended with Victorian grace. Located in Galveston's East End Historic District & is considered one of the top architectural structures on the Island .Guest rooms are richly appointed, with king size beds. Private baths are Jacuzzi or claw-footed tubs.

This space is one of the largest private mansions offering vacation rental on the island and the lobby and first floor angel room will delight and amaze those with a love of architecture and design.

Guests have access to libraries, living rooms and sitting rooms, dining in the huge dining room , outdoor kitchen(feature bbq), wrap around verandas with outdoor seating and dining to enjoy cool evening breezes

This is the arts and entertainment district, so booking during events such as Art walk, Marti Gras or Dickens on the Strand puts you within 2 blocks walk to every thing including harbour side restaurants

transportation is rarely needed in this close to downtown and beach spot, but for longer adventures the new Galveston (summer 2021) trolley shuttle service is just at the end of your street and gives you free access all over the island to major attractions

Great location and host

The only drawback was we did not realize that the garden suite was in the basement. It all turned out well and Brian was a great host. On the plus side the suite was very large.

Beautiful Property

Hosts were friendly and helpful, quick to respond to questions. Close to everything you could want in Galveston. The property and rooms were beautiful.

Wonderful!

Stunning property. The ambience and overall look of every aspect of the room was amazing. The common area has such a lovely and relaxing quality. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Stay

We loved the size and character of this mansion. The common areas were nice to interact with other guests and we loved the room. We would recommend staying here versus one of the hotels. It’s so much better!

A lovely place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was awesome that we were able to bring our dog also. Great location- we loved being able to walk most places. Coffee shops, restaurants, shopping all within walking distance. Beautiful suite and very large which was nice since we stayed a week. We would love to stay again.

Great stay with comfy beds!

We loved the vibe of the house and of our room. The beds were great and the room was comfortable. The location is wonderful, either a short drive or a moderate walk to the Strand and other areas with good food and fun nightlife. We had one concern at check in, but were able to contact the property manager easily and the issue was resolved within 15 minutes. I plan to stay here again, especially if I travel solo since I felt extremely safe.

Beautiful old mansion

The place is very nice for an older mansion. The only downside really is all the stairs. They are a pain to get up and down with luggage. My wife was positive the place was haunted as the hairs on her arms stood on edge as soon as we arrived. Lots of bumps and creaks in the night. We were on the 3rd floor. We enjoyed our time even with the creepy feelings my wife had.

Relaxing, wonderful stay

This is a well maintained historic mansion near the Strand. The property manager, Karin is charming, very easy to chat with and knowledgeable. The rooms are spacious and quiet with a nicely stocked shared kitchen.

Quick getaway

Very enjoyable and laid back atmosphere. Our room was large room on third floor and we enjoyed the space but bringing luggage up and down stairs could be challenge for some.

Pre-Cruise Nights

Beautiful historical home. We stayed on the 3rd floor with the most amazing room, including a claw foot tub. Quiet and secure, street parking. Price was amazing for location. Comfortable king bed, additional double and pull out sofa available in room Coffee available in room. We will stay here again

Beautiful Home

Overall our stay was excellent! Karen was wonderful with friendliness and tips. The only downfall, was we were on the third floor and we are an older couple. The flight of stairs were a challenge with luggage. Not really a walking distance to the Strand.

Might be Haunted

The house is old, almost 200 years old, and it’s still so incredibly beautiful. Our hostess was amazing and gave us the history of the place. My friend and I were set up in the top suite where a brothel Madame would entertain her guests. While we were there, we would joke that it might be haunted, especially since it’s so old. Whether it’s haunted or not, we definitely want to stay here again just for the atmosphere alone.

Wonderful Location and Beautiful Place

We tremendously enjoyed the beautiful historic home, it was like stepping back in time! The location is walking distance to the strand and surrounded by other historic homes. Check in was easy and the rental is pet friendly. Loved everything about this VRBO. We will be back.

The Grand Manor

The manor is an absolutely stunning Victorian wonder! It rivals the Bishop Palace and the Moody Mansion. We had the Vanilla Orchid room that has a comfortable king bed and a jet tub. The tub came in handy after bicycling around Galveston. They are not a bed and breakfast so don’t expect breakfast. They do have a mini fridge and a k-cup coffee pot. We loved listening to the owl hoot during the night. It is within 4 blocks of good eating places. We enjoyed our stay.

Great historic Inn

Wonderful historic mansion! Really enjoyed our stay. Close to everything. Nice sure if it was in the description, missed it if it was, no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor so lots of steps with suitcases.

Amazing

The Mansion was a great change of pace from the usual stays. The house and my room were beautiful. Location was great. Walked almost everywhere I needed to go. I was on 3rd floor, so the stairs were big exercise at times wanted or not lol . Hope to be back soon.

Anniversary Weekend Trip

This is a lovely historic home in a charming neighborhood within walking distance to several great restaurants - very reasonably priced without a lot of extra fees that have become the norm. Breakfast is not provided, but we tried two different breakfast spots within walking distance during our stay that were excellent- The Mosquito Cafe and Sunflower Bakery. We enjoyed the walk and the food! Our first night we did unfortunately have some noisy late night neighbors in the room next to us, but I messaged the owner and he quickly took care of it. He always responded promptly to any needs. I highly recommend this beautiful home.

Garden Lace

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Manor. A couoke of things for them to consider...more than 1 little trash can in a room (it was in the bathroom) especially when staying multiple nights. The other thing is a heater. The room had one of those wood burning looking plug in type things but put out 0 heat. I had to bring in my own blankets. It was very chilly in January. Karin was amazing. She gets 5 stars. Other than those 2 things, we will definitely recommend and be back.

Bedbugs

The place was very cool. However, there were bedbugs in the rooms. We stayed in two rooms and I was bitten both nights. Even with all my precautions, the bugs made it home with us.

Wonderful Home

We spent out 19th wedding anniversary in the tropicana suite. It was wonderful and very spacious.The places we wanted to try for coffee and meals, were all a short distance away. We will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing this beautiful home! We loved it there!
