Perfect location, wonderful house!

  • 5 of 5

Had an incredible stay at this beautiful home over Memorial Day weekend. Centrally located to everything downtown (short walk or $5 Uber ride), plenty of space in the home. Loved the number of separate bathrooms, great little patio space for outdoor sitting. Would recommend to anyone!

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this property for a family reunion. The location was walking distance to several shops and restaurants downtown. The layout of the house allowed everyone to have private space but the large kitchen was great for gathering.

Plenty of Charm, Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We rented the house as a gathering place for extended family who were participating in a 5k run on New Years. We found the home warm and inviting and the area easy to navigate with plenty to do for all age groups. We had people going to the movies, the battleship memorial and the shopping district all on the same day. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The house is in an Historic District and is rather old so there are things about that, like hearing others throughout the house and creaking floors that are to be expected. The internet access and direct tv were welcomed amenities to the tech hungry young people in our group and the large dining area and porch were preferred by those who were there for the family interactions. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots and pans, but we could have used a few more towels for our group of 13, maybe a set just for the bathrooms as well as the set provided in the rooms. We loved walking around and seeing the well kept older homes and marveled at the grandeur that was the history of the town. The Cotton Exchange with the unique shops and taverns is a must see and the seafood is superb in the area, especially the oysters. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family who are looking for a convenient and well kept gathering spot for a large group in the Wilmington area.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you chose our home for your visit to Wilmington. And even happier that you had such a positive experience at the Old North Inn! You left the house in great condition and were perfect guests. And thanks for letting me know that I forgot my own keys when I went over to adjust the lock for your entry. The house is a great option for larger groups and I thought that your group would appreciate the 5 bathrooms and large kitchen. Great to hear that there were ample pots and pans et al in the kitchen since we hadn't yet done our annual inventory. I agree that the floors are a little creaky as they often are in historic homes, but the great condition of the original hardwood is so beautiful and adds so much charm to the home. I truly hope that you will take advantage of our 10% returning guest discount and stay with us again! Thanks so much and I hope that you have a terrific 2015! Kind regards, Joan

Amazing roomy place, great location!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with a group of 11 (4 couples and 3 singles) over Labor day while we were in town for a wedding and this place was perfect! Everyone had their own room, some had their own bathrooms and the master had a screened in deck on the 2nd floor. There is a a convenient store located across the street which has all the essentials. You can walk to anywhere in downtown Wilmington or catch a cab for $3-$5.

It has a great deck and courtyard in the back which was great for hanging out. A grill we didn't use but looked to be in great condition. We only cooked breakfast but the kitchen was just fine.

Joan and Stephanie made this renting process so simple! Great communication throughout the process and were quick to help when we locked ourselves out on the first day!! (thanks again Joan).

We did spend a few days at the beach and were forced to take cabs. Cab rides were usually $20-$25 plus tip but split between 4-6 people in the cab it's well worth it. Our friends who drove to the beach had nightmare stories about finding parking and the cost of it.

I highly recommend this place to any large groups who are staying in the Wilmington area! Next time I visit Wilmington I will definitely be staying here again!
