This large space offers lovely setting for larger groups wishing to visit for business group, family group or wedding stays. Fantastic location near the heart of downtown Wilmington. Lovely private garden with water feature and enclosed upper and open lower decks which overlook this beautiful space.
Had an incredible stay at this beautiful home over Memorial Day weekend. Centrally located to everything downtown (short walk or $5 Uber ride), plenty of space in the home. Loved the number of separate bathrooms, great little patio space for outdoor sitting. Would recommend to anyone!
My family rented this property for a family reunion. The location was walking distance to several shops and restaurants downtown. The layout of the house allowed everyone to have private space but the large kitchen was great for gathering.
We rented the house as a gathering place for extended family who were participating in a 5k run on New Years. We found the home warm and inviting and the area easy to navigate with plenty to do for all age groups. We had people going to the movies, the battleship memorial and the shopping district all on the same day. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The house is in an Historic District and is rather old so there are things about that, like hearing others throughout the house and creaking floors that are to be expected. The internet access and direct tv were welcomed amenities to the tech hungry young people in our group and the large dining area and porch were preferred by those who were there for the family interactions. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots and pans, but we could have used a few more towels for our group of 13, maybe a set just for the bathrooms as well as the set provided in the rooms. We loved walking around and seeing the well kept older homes and marveled at the grandeur that was the history of the town. The Cotton Exchange with the unique shops and taverns is a must see and the seafood is superb in the area, especially the oysters. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family who are looking for a convenient and well kept gathering spot for a large group in the Wilmington area.
I stayed here with a group of 11 (4 couples and 3 singles) over Labor day while we were in town for a wedding and this place was perfect! Everyone had their own room, some had their own bathrooms and the master had a screened in deck on the 2nd floor. There is a a convenient store located across the street which has all the essentials. You can walk to anywhere in downtown Wilmington or catch a cab for $3-$5.
It has a great deck and courtyard in the back which was great for hanging out. A grill we didn't use but looked to be in great condition. We only cooked breakfast but the kitchen was just fine.
Joan and Stephanie made this renting process so simple! Great communication throughout the process and were quick to help when we locked ourselves out on the first day!! (thanks again Joan).
We did spend a few days at the beach and were forced to take cabs. Cab rides were usually $20-$25 plus tip but split between 4-6 people in the cab it's well worth it. Our friends who drove to the beach had nightmare stories about finding parking and the cost of it.
I highly recommend this place to any large groups who are staying in the Wilmington area! Next time I visit Wilmington I will definitely be staying here again!
This home is conveniently located only a few blocks from the Riverwalk, which spans the length of our downtown area. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the Cape Fear River, capture some memories upon a picturesque backdrop filled with nature and history, explore the unique goods in one of the quaint downtown shops, visit a few historic sites, take in some local culture at one of the fine art galleries, catch some music at one of the music halls and don't forget to treat yourself to some exceptional dining at any one of the outstanding restaurants!
Sun and fun are just down the road...Kick off your shoes and play in the sand and surf at one of our area beaches. The Island of Wrightsville Beach is only 8 miles from the home and offers beautiful beaches, a fishing pier and plenty of recreational options. Surfing and swimming are popular activities for this beach. Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Fort Fisher are 15-20 miles from the house. One way to visit this beach is to catch the ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher, where you can tour the historic fort and museum. As you travel this island you will go through Kure Beach and Carolina Beach where you will find kite surfers, sunbathers and fishermen enjoying the shores of Atlantic waters and all it has to offer!
