Updated condo with living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, and an elevated outdoor deck overlooking Lake Michigan. Sleeps (4)
Awesome location on Lake Michigan's scenic Sleeping Bear Sand Dune beach and the Crystal River: Enjoy two pristine bodies of water with views of the beach, sunsets, the Manitou Islands, and Sleeping Bear Point.
Condo includes air conditioning, private gated parking, TV/cable, WiFi, a well-equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, linens, plus a TV in master bedroom and extra tall Adirondack deckchairs to view the amazing sunsets.
Float the shallow waters of the crystal river or float atop the rolling waves of Lake Michigan! Walk the beach, stroll alongside the Crystal River, or walk the boardwalk which stretches for blocks just outside the condo building. And the new-extended paved bike path comes right up to the entrance of the Homestead Resort.
The town of Glen Arbor is only 2.5 miles from the Resort down scenic M-22. The entire Leelanau Peninsula has a relaxing atmosphere for a great get-away vacation: no mega malls, no traffic lights, no chain fast food places, no dwellings above three stories, no chain hotels. But, if you are looking for that kind of variety, the town of Traverse City is only 30 minutes away!
Leelanau county has vineyards/wineries, 5 or 6 charming coastal villages where you will find galleries, boutiques, cottage book stores, local farm markets, concerts, exhibits, festivals, unique shops/stores, fudge, a ferry to escort you to/from South Manitou Island, local fishing charters, private sailboats/yachts, and dining from casual to five star (my favorite, Labacasse, a country French restaurant in nearby Burdickville). And Leelanau county has exceptional scenery, rolling countryside terrain, wildlife abounding, golf, tennis, downhill and cross country skiing, biking and hiking trails, plenty of nature and plenty of friendly people who love the out-of-doors.
Glen arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau county: a place like no other in the world.
Note: this rental does not include access to a pool, however the purchase of a service from the resort's Amira spa will give you access to a pool for the day: call the Homestead for details . You WILL have access to all of the resort amenities that are open to the public, such as all of the grounds and beach area, all of the restaurants, golf (ski hill in the winter), spa, salon, and the shops in the Village. Public tennis courses are available in Glen Arbor.

Great Summer Retreat by Lake Michigan
This beautiful condo is within the Homestead Resort, and has a beautiful view of Lake Michigan and a short walk to a wonderful beach. It was perfect for 4 of us, with our now-adult children for a week in late August. We all loved the proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes park, the natural beauty, and the setting. The description was accurate, and while some of us worried that not having resort pool access might be an issue, I would say it is really not a problem at all. In some ways it allowed us to focus on the Lake, beach and park. I would recommend it highly and might even plan a return visit myself. The sunsets were a highlight and differed each night. We visited Leelanau peninsula sights including wineries, lighthouse and took an evening boat ride from Leland. We especially liked the pies we bought at the coffee shop in Glen Arbor, where Carl has his designated chair and can recount local history dating back 70 years. It is a great place for a relaxing vacation on Lake Michigan.
Tall Timbers C4 condo at Homestead Resort - Glen Arbor
The setting and view from the condo is magnificent! Crystal River just steps away for great kayaking, wading and fishing. Lake Michigan just over the footbridge and the dune to a great sand beach which we had to ourselves most of the time. The retaining wall along the Crystal River was being replaced while we were there so there was a lot of noise from the construction equipment. The kitchen in the condo is very well equipped with most pots / pans and utensils, etc. The cleanliness of the condo could have been better and the condition of the fixtures in the bathroom needs to be upgraded a bit. All in all our stay was great and we thoroughly enjoy the Homestead Resort and Glen Arbor.
It was a great stay!
Our stay at the Homestead was great! Location of the condo was perfect, right by the lake and 5 minutes from downtown Glen Arbor. The condo itself was the perfect size for us 4...we had 2 couples staying. The only thing I might mention is it could use some updating but that didn't really affect anything anyways.
comfortable, tidy, and can't beat the view!
Great condo, great location! Gorgeous view and lots to see and do! Glen Arbor's great with numerous shops and restaurants. We loved Sleeping Bear Dunes - the whole area is very picturesque. Leland, North Point Empire and Traverse City are close by. You won't be bored! We kayaked, hiked, did the dune-climb, rode a summertime downhill Alpine Adventure ride down a nearby ski slope, shopped and enjoyed many great meals. A+
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. It is decorated so nice and we loved the extra tall deck chairs to view the sunset! The Crystal River is right outside and we watched steelhead swim and loved the hummingbirds that came to the deck while we saw the diver ducks in a line over the dune in Lake Michigan. It was cool to also use the binoculars to view the freighter in route by the South Manitou Island.
We rode our bikes through the trails and boardwalk right around our condo, and also took them into Glen Arbor to hop on the paved trail to the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb. If you don't have your own bike, they are available in town for rent. We also drove a short drive to the hiking trail at Pyramid Point. We drove to Pierce Stocking drive for a gorgeous view of the dunes and Lake Michigan and watched the sunset, although the sunset from our condo was just as beautiful and we chose to stay there the next night and sip a glass of wine.
There is a variety of items at Cavanaugh's store in the resort. We had a latte from their coffee bar while we connected to wi-fi and sat outside. The playground area in front of Nona's was nice to let the kids explore while we had some quiet time on the deck and later by the fire. The Anderson's grocery store in Glen Arbor has more items if you don't find what you're looking for. We really like Boonedocks Restaurant right across the street. We will come back this summer and enjoy the outdoor seating and listen to the live music.
We checked the kids in at Camp Tamarack for a few hours so we could have some alone time. They had a great time playing and were closely supervised.
I would definately recommend this location to anyone! Our condo was very clean and we were impressed with the special touches like the granite countertops and beachy decor.
Pierce Stocking Drive is just a few minutes away and offers gorgeous views of Sleeping Bear Dunes and Lake Michigan. There is a paved bike trail that you can take from Glen Arbor to the Dune Climb. There is a maritime museum on the Lakeshore in Glen Arbor and also art galleries and the famous Cherry Rupiblic which offers free sampling of wines, creme sodas and various snacks and gift packages. Kayak or tube on the Crystal River, which ends right at the condo door.
