About Griff Martin
I grew up in Winston Salem, NC and have lived in Asheville Since 2005. The mountains and music are what drove me to this area and I haven't looked back since. I am an insurance broker but my heart lies with the love for bluegrass music playing guitar and mandolin with various groups around town. My hobbies include backpacking, camping, and exploring these Blue Ridge Mountains.
Griff Martin purchased this Apartment in 2008

Second Satisfied Stay!
Griff's place is so perfect, we returned for a 2nd visit and were just as satisfied as we were during our first trip! The location can't be beat--walkable to River Arts District and West Asheville with an abundance of breweries and restaurants right in the neighborhood, or a short and cheap Lyft/Uber ride downtown. With so much at your fingertips, it's nice to have a quiet residence to return to at the end of a busy day. We were lucky enough to meet Griff this trip and he was equally as generous as he always has been during our exchanges online. Stay here! It's clean, modern, comfy, provides off-street parking, and the property owner is extremely prompt with all communication. Thanks again, Griff!
Griff's place was in an excellent location. We were within walking distance to several breweries and an art district. This place was perfect for us and our pups and it was within driving distance to a lot of hiking trails. Downtown was also close and easy to get to from here.
It was a great place to stay for sure!!
Griff was so attentive and made our stay super comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay and the hospitality that Griff provided. We highly recommend this place and we’ll be back!! Thank you, Griff for all that you did to make our stay a comfortable one!

Location! Location! Location!
Enjoyed our trip to Asheville and enjoyed our stay in this basement apartment. The apartment was very close to numerous breweries, restaurants, entertainment and Biltmore. We could have walked to a few places including New Belgium Brewery (one of our favorites), but it was too cold during our stay. I highly recommend White Duck Taco for lunch and Sunny Point Cafe for breakfast. Also, I highly recommend Jack of the Wood for live music. The Bluegrass was outstanding. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Thanks!
Convenient, Cozy, Clean, Newly Updated Apartment close to Breweries, Great Restaurants and Art.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Griff's Apartment. He couldn't have thought of anything else to make our stay away from home the best it could be. He has even put in a work-out room in the space to our surprise. We spent our mornings in the kitchen, sipping coffee and preparing for our day about town, looking over the brochures he supplied.
Upon our arrival he graciously shared a large bowl of muscles in a delicious wine sauce, bread and small potatoes, it hit the spot and was delish. We suggest Griff's home as a place for your stay away.
We recommend a few places: Breakfast/ Holes, Biscuit Head, Breweries/ New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, Oyster Brewery, Green Man Brewery, Wicked Weed. Dinner - too many to mention. The Biltmore is over the top and the Biltmore winery is a nice end of the tour stop. Mt. Piscaugh (sp?). was a great work-out with beautiful views.
The house itself wasn’t bad.
I had to compose myself before I wrote this review because Griff really rubbed me the wrong way when he accused my husband and I of things that we did not do. I will be the first to admit that I used blue detergent on his towels and unintentionally stained them blue. So he had every right to be upset about that. However with that being said he accused us of leaving beer cans in his yard when my husband and I do not even drink beer, he accused our dogs of digging in his front yard when neither myself or my dogs stepped a single foot in his front yard. There was no reason to go in the front yard my dogs only went in the fenced in part of the back yard. That’s like saying I took my dogs in his front yard on the leash and just stood there and watched them dig. I would never do that or allow my dogs to do so. Instead of asking us about these things he made assumptions that weren’t true. My husband tried to call him on two separate occasions to explain that these accusations were false but he did not answer the phone either time. The house itself was not bad but I had a horrible experience with Griff.
I’d like to clarify this review. First, the minor digging was in the back yard near the back door and entrance to the apartment. And the beer can must have blown into the yard from somewhere else, so I apologize for that. But what was most troubling to me, and what you failed to mention, is the unacceptable condition the space was left in. There was dog poop left on the floor and a large puddle of pee on the kitchen tile that has left a permanent stain in the grout, leaving it a darkened color. Additionally, the space was left very dirty with dog prints everywhere, and I had to pay my cleaning lady extra because of the added work.
I’m terribly sorry that you all didn’t have a good experience and hope that you still enjoyed your stay in Asheville. I do everything that I can to ensure my guests are happy and comfortable, hence all the positive reviews. Finally, I work in the insurance business so I don’t always answer calls from out of state numbers due to solicitations. I ask that guests either give me there number up front, text me or leave a voicemail. I’m very open to feed back, good or bad.
