O'Carroll's Cabin on the Yellowstone has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen with dishwasher, range, microwave, and all the cookware, laundry, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and a spacious living room. The cabin is not air conditioned. There are ceiling fans and additional fans in each room.
O’Carroll’s guest cabin is located in the heart of Paradise Valley with the Absaroka Mountain Range to the east and the Gallatin Mountain Range to the west. Conveniently located only 35 miles from the north entrance into Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana, this cabin is the perfect location for day trips in and out of the park. The cabin overlooks the Yellowstone River which flows through the valley and is noted for world-class fly fishing in the river and nearby spring creeks. The valley has several natural hot springs, including Chico Hot Springs only seven miles away. Chico offers live entertainment every Friday night, outdoor adventures, exceptional dining, and natural Hot Springs pools.
In addition to Yellowstone National Park, the opportunities for sightseeing, hunting, fishing, dog sledding, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, kayaking, canoeing-(the list goes on and on) abound in the valley and many other world famous recreational areas are within a day's trip away.
My parents and I moved to MT from GA in 1997 after my youngest of three sons left home for college. We built O'Carroll's B&B (where I now reside) that year and then this cabin in 2003. We built it to be the ideal cabin if we were planning a trip to the Yellowstone area. As a transplanted southerner, I still get a thrill from the mountain views, the beautiful Yellowstone River, the wildlife, the rainbows, the glorious summers with low humidity; and yes, even the cold winter wonderland days.
Eleanor Harvey purchased this cabin in 2003
Our cabin is literally in the heart of Paradise Valley only 35 miles north of YNP's north gate. We planned this cabin as our ideal place to stay for three or more nights in this beautiful valley. We are only 7 miles from Chico Resort with it's famous hot springs pool and fine dining. Fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting and quiet river floats, scenic airplane flights, rodeos, wildlife observation, and bird watching just begin the list of activities to be enjoyed.
Cabin guests are welcome to reserve a place at the breakfast table for a reasonable charge per person. O'Carroll's B&B serves what we consider to be the best breakfasts in the valley.
O'Carroll's Cabin was wonderful! The view was spectacular and the cabin had everything we needed during our stay. It was close enough to Yellowstone entrance but not so close to be caught up in all the touristy areas. If you want peace and quite and a beautiful view this is the place to stay. Eleanor was a wonderful host and even invited us to have Elk hamburgers one night!

We stayed at O'Carroll's Yellowstone Cabin for three nights while visiting Yellowstone and it was a perfect place to come back to each night! The set-up is perfect for families.....grandma & grandpa had their own bathroom and bedroom and we shared the other bathroom with our two kids. There was enough space and privacy for everyone. The views of the mountains are amazing both from the porch and from inside the cabin through the large windows! Eleanor is also very accommodating and helpful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Our stay was fantastic!! the cabin was close enough to Yellowstone with just the right amount of nature. The cabin itself was wonderful. It had everything you could ask for and more! Eleanor was wonderful and very attentive as well. Would definitely stay here again, as well as encourage others to stay here.
The cabin was more beautiful than the pictures show..wonderful to come home at night after a long day sight seeing around Yellowstone to the gorgeous mountain view from the sofa..Thanks Eleanor for sharing your cabin with us,you thought of everything.
Our stay at the cabin was great. Our first night there we had 4 deer feeding right next to the cabin. Ms. Eleanor was an amazing hostess. The cabin was very spacious and comfortable.
We stayed here with our adult children. We were very happy with the cabin, clean, roomy and the kitchen had everything we needed not to mention the beds were very comfortable. The location was beautiful and a good central location for visiting Yellowstone. If ever in the area we will stay again. Thanks for the great memories.
Livingston, MT (18 miles north) hosts the largest rodeo in the area July 2-4 each year. There is also a yearly music festival and fiddlers' picnic weekend every summer, a yearly bark in the park event, a county fair, and art shows galore.
