Everything from the location, to the house, to the amenities in the home and conversations with the owner was above and beyond. The home was very clean and updated with a fun game room downstairs as well as kids toy area in the main living area. The fire pit in the backyard was a nice relaxing place to end our evening. Barbs was always willing to answer my questions and give suggestions In a very timely manner. Overall great stay and would definitelyReccomend.

The house was nice. Hot tub and pool table were great for entertainment. The one thing that made the stay semi miserable at times was the high levels of moisture in the basement which allowed mold and some other type of fungus to grow. We breathed that in during our entire stay. The mold smell made our throats sore and it was hard to sleep with the windows shut. Traffic on the road nearby made it hard to sleep with the windows open. If it had been during this extreme heat this week we would have had to make different arrangements to stay somewhere else. We slept with our windows open. The owner did have a small dehumidifier running in the basement but it could not keep up with the humidity. The owner did go out and purchase a larger dehumidifier while we were there and dropped it off. I emptied both dehumidifiers multiple times a day throughout our stay. The owner did provide a partial refund which I did appreciate. Because I would be concerned about possibe humidity issues not remedied in the future I am not sure I would stay in the same house again.

My family stayed a full week at the property. “Serene” is an excellent descriptor. We went to several local attractions, Sight & Sound Theatre, farmers’ markets, Amish tours, Buchanan’s estate, etc. We also did a day trip into Philadelphia to places like Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, Reading (pronounced ‘Redding’) Terminal, etc. We also built in a couple of ‘down days’ where we simply relaxed at the property; peaceful days watching deer in the cornfields across the street, reading on the front porch while listening to birds, playing games, and family time around the fire pit in the back yard. We didn’t get in the hot tub nor fire up the grill, but they are available. We could easily have filled the week simply relaxing at the property, enjoying peace and solitude. There is a park (Safe Harbor Park) 1.5 miles from the home that buts up against the Conestoga river, and it is great for walking, jogging, or just hanging out. The host is exceptional, prompt in responses and available to answer any number of inquiries. The home is well stocked, and their intentionality in planning is evident. Our family enjoyed the stay immensely and would certainly recommend the home to others and welcome an opportunity to stay again!

Me and my husband are from leola. We purchased this property in a run-down condition with the dream of turning it into a beautiful short term rental. I take care if hosting while he takes care of the property. We enjoy hosting and working together on the property

Why they chose this property

With its beautiful rolling hills and farmland this area is hard to beat. Minutes to the beautiful Susquehanna River while also only minutes to beautiful lancaster city and Strasburg.

What makes this property unique

If you want to get away from the city and experience some beautiful country this is the property for you. At the same time it is only minutes to anything lancaster has to offer and only a few miles from the river and beautiful safe harbor park and dam.
It's great for outdoorsy folk as well as anyone who just wants a relaxing weekend in the countryside
