Well equipped 3 bedroom cottage with deck and big yard, just steps to a private resident beach! The Atlantic Ocean can be seen from the house. Fully furnished. Amenities include: Bed Linens & Towels, Wi-Fi Internet, Smart TV, Air Conditioning, Dishwasher, Grill, Fire pit, Outdoor Shower, Washer & Dryer, Beach Chairs, Beach Towels, Umbrella, Beach Cart and toys. Guest Parking Pass for the public Mattapoisett beaches is provided! Located in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. Great for peaceful walks/runs and there are many bike and hiking trails in the area, including the Mattapoisett Rail Trail and Nasketucket Bay State Reservation a 5 minute drive from the house. Sleeps 6 people comfortably. Off-street parking for 2 cars. A small boat landing is available upon request. Well-behaved pets are welcome and can enjoy their own beach located on the other side of the jetty from the resident beach. Food bowls and a run are provided.

Close to many wonderful tourist destinations including Cape Cod (30 min), Boston (60 min), Newport RI (45 min) Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Ferries (15 min), and New Bedford MA aka "The Whaling City" (15 min). No shortage of great restaurants and sight-seeing spots. Local shopping amenities include Super Stop n' Shop, Wal-Mart, Marshalls, Ocean State Job Lot, Brahmin Handbag Outlet and lots more.

The area was beautiful! We went mid August and the neighborhood had gorgeous flowers blooming everywhere. The beach area was private and so relaxing. Our pup loved exploring the doggy beach. Good area for restaurants too… we really enjoyed Turk’s!

Wonderful stay

This is a very nice stay. The neighborhood is very quiet. The house is cozy. It had everything we needed to enjoy the space and the beach. Communication with the owners was easy and quick. The local restaurants didnt look like much driving by but they were hidden gems!

Just got back home from a week at this Mattapoisett beach cottage, we had a great time. The house had everything we needed for a quiet week at the beach and the neighborhood is perfect - good sized private beach, separate dog-friendly beach area, quiet roads for kids to ride bikes or to walk our dog, and close to anything we needed. We've made this beach house part of our summer plans for the past 5 years and always enjoy our time there.

Magical coastal gem.

What a wonderful seaside cottage. We had a great stay in this tastefully decorated cottage that is perfect for a small family. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking to stay in the Marion/Mattapoisett/Fairhaven area. My favorite VRBO in the area.

Great location and neighborhood

This cottage is well cared for and a nice base for my activities kayaking and biking in the area. It's convenient for dog walking out the door or closeby to other dog walking properties. It's a dog firendly neighborhood. Carly and Matthew are attentive and considerate hosts.

Best vacation in recent years!

We really didn’t know much about Brandt Beach and Mattapoisett going into this trip and by Tuesday we were making plans for next year. This neighborhood is so friendly and quiet. The small beach is a delight! Calm and peaceful in the morning and hardly ever crowded. The house was so well stocked and had everything you needed and more! We were there the week of the 4th and were invited to participate in the parade and potluck which was so wonderful! I hope to vacation here again soon!

We all loved our vacation stay here!

The house was perfect for our family vacation with our adult children and their partners. We loved how the house had ample room for all of us to cook together, whether it was inside on one of our rainy days or outside on the grill. We loved the arrangement of having 3 sofas so that all three couples could hang out together and relax. We all had the chance to catch up on sleep in comfortable beds on a rainy day and then to explore the area in Mattapoisett when it was sunny. The nearby beach was beautiful and being by the ocean on the beach was so relaxing. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet with friendly neighbors waving hello when we took walks. Our group made use of nearby first class restaurants and the nature areas nearby.

Perfect beach vacation!

We've rented this house each summer for the past few years and always love our time here. The neighborhood is great, the beach is perfect with young kids, and there's plenty to do nearby on the cape or in New Bedford. Hope to be back again next summer!

Wonderfully peaceful beach getaway.

Lovely area, short walk to ocean and uncrowded beach. Not elaborate but very clean, beachy and comfortable with many amenities provided by owners. Beautiful community …. Friendly folks and very safe. Had a wonderful stay.

Steps from the beach!

We had a very nice time at Carly and Matt's cottage. The location is great!...just steps from the beach. Carly was super responsive when we had questions, and also accomodating us with a last minute shift in dates when I got sick. And our pup enjoyed the yard and deck as well.

Nice location

It was a perfect location for my biking and kayaking activities and for dog walks. The nighborhood is quiet and dog friendly. The house was nicely set up with space for a dog bed and feeding area. It was easy to get acclimated and start the fun of summer vacation. Thank you!

Great place for dogs by the beach

I had the pleasure of staying here for over three weeks while moving. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and the house was clean and well kept. Great place to stay and the bonus was that it was dog friendly. :)

Perfect getaway!

We had an awesome time at the cottage. It’s a quick walk to the neighborhood beach that is very clean. Beautiful area and the neighbors always smiled and waved as we went by. The house was fully equipped and had everything we needed and more and was clean. We only had to buy food- all soaps and supplies were provided which was nice. The owners Matt and Carly were very responsive and friendly and gave us some great recommendations for food (Turk’s is a must!) and activities.

Great location!

Cute house, nice yard. We had drinks around the fire pit.The doggie beach was perfect for our dog who loves the water. She went swimming every day,! The owners are very nice and very helpful. We had a lovely time and would consider renting again. Kelley & Shawn

Needle in a haystack

Great location! We love the beach and so does our dog. We had a beautiful week of weather in October. The house is old but the couple that rents it supplies everything you would need. I have rented twice and would do it all over again!

Basic Accommodations

Property was nice for a basic stay. Cottage is old but in a nice location. The sofa and throw pillows smelled of dog and we swept up quite a bit of dust/dog hair from under sofa. The kitchen was short on utensils and a blender would have been nice to have on hand. We kept the damaged blinds up so we didn't have to look at them. A step outside each entry door would prevent safety issues. The washer/dryer worked great and the outdoor area was great.

MA Vacay

We loved everything about Matthew & Carly’s home. They provided everything we needed for our week long stay - towels, toilet paper, paper towels, beach supplies, the list could go on! Although the property is not within walking distance to any tourist attractions, it’s the perfect location - far enough away to enjoy the relaxation of a vacation, but close enough to drive to several top travel destinations! We checked several things off our bucket list - Boston, Salem & Cape Cod! We also spent a day at Water Wiz (the water park where Grown ups was filmed), which I highly recommend! It was so much fun for the entire family! Check in / out was a breeze. If we had any question, Matthew & Carly were quick to respond. We just loved everything about our stay! They were awesome hosts!

Beach Stay

This property is located in a quiet community. We enjoyed the private beach (bring water shoes) and walks. The greater area has good food (we loved Turks) and local parks for young kids (Noah’s Park was so much fun we visited twice). The home itself is older. The pictures are accurate but upon arrival, it could use some love. Aside from the unfinished cosmetic work, the primary concern we had was the electrical. There were some non functional outlets / switches and the A/C in one bedroom was barely in the outlet because it couldn’t fit against the heating unity. The fixes for some of these were concerning, particularly in the case of the bathroom. The outlet was not working so there was an extension cord coming in from the hallway that was partially secured to the wall. As former landlords, this wouldn’t have passed code in our home state and had me on edge with young kids. Since the cord was mostly detached from the wall, we put the led into the hallway for the duration of our stay for fear of it falling into the sink. We’d also recommend you bring devices if you want to watch anything. We had issues with the TV and couldn’t get it to stream clearly but our laptop was fine (WiFi worked well).

We are both lifelong Massachusetts residents and Matt has vacationed in Mattapoisett every summer since he was a young child when his parents purchased the property. We currently reside in the Greater Boston area with our dog, Lion.

It’s a wonderful, close knit neighborhood where you can always expect a smile and a wave from the other residents. We enjoy bringing our dog to the dog beach and walking the many trails in the Nasketucket Reservation.
