About this property

4 Cottages · 4 Hot Tubs · Fire Pit · Nr Biltmore

The fire is already crackling when the last car pulls in. Four private cottages spread across 1.3 wooded acres each with its own hot tub, full kitchen, and deck tucked under the rhododendrons. By the time everyone settles in, nobody is sharing a kitchen or waiting for a bathroom. Fifteen minutes from Biltmore Estate, ten from the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is what group travel is supposed to feel like.

ABOUT THIS SPACE

The property has four home types spread across 1.3 wooded acres.

Duplex: Rosewood and Laurel are duplex cottages that share a common center wall, each single-level and fully private inside. Step into an open living area with an electric fireplace and a 55" 4K Roku Smart TV, where guests log into their own streaming accounts. The full kitchen has stainless steel appliances, an electric stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, and drip coffee. Rosewood features the largest kitchen footprint of the four homes, with a six-person dining table plus bar seating, ideal if someone in the group came to cook. Laurel has a bistro table, two counter seats, and a king bedroom that is en suite. Both cottages open onto a private deck with an electric grill and an enclosed hot tub. Each has a full-size washer and dryer and a Level 2 EV charger outside.

Cabins: Blue Ridge and Bent Creek are two-level cottages with a main-level living, dining, and kitchen space with both bedrooms downstairs, a layout that gives the bedrooms privacy from those gathering in the living space. Upstairs: a 55" 4K Roku TV, electric fireplace, six-person dining table, full kitchen with stainless appliances, and a full bathroom. Step out to the elevated deck to take in the tree canopy, use the gas grill, or sink into the hot tub. Downstairs: two king bedrooms, a full bathroom, and closet space for longer stays. Each cottage has its own washer and dryer and a Level 2 EV charger.

All four homes sleep additional guests on a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, include hotel-quality 100% cotton linens and duvets, offer laptop-friendly workspaces, and come stocked with board games and cards.

Set across 1.3 private wooded acres, the retreat is surrounded by mature hardwoods, lush rhododendrons, and blooming azaleas that inspired the property’s name. At the heart of the landscape, you’ll find a spacious grassy lawn and a welcoming eight-chair community fire pit — with firewood supplied and waiting.

LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY

Rhododendron sits in a quiet, wooded, private neighborhood in West Asheville, yet closer to everything than guests expect.

Biltmore Estate (15 min) America's largest private home, with 8,000 acres of gardens, a working winery, guided house tours, cycling trails, and year-round programming. Most guests plan a full day here. The property is a Biltmore Partner- ask the host for information regarding discount ticket purchases.

Downtown Asheville (15 min) One of the most celebrated small cities in the Southeast: James Beard-recognized restaurants, more than 30 independent breweries, live music every night of the week, and the River Arts District, where former industrial warehouses along the French Broad River now house hundreds of working artist studios.

Blue Ridge Parkway (10 min, milepost 393.6) The property's most-used access point for the group cyclists who book Rhododendron. The NC Arboretum, a 434-acre botanical garden with extensive trail networks, sits at this same entrance.

Pisgah National Forest (40 min) One of the most accessible national forests on the East Coast, with hundreds of miles of trail. Looking Glass Falls and Graveyard Fields are the most popular day hikes from Asheville.

French Broad River (20 min) Tubing, stand-up paddleboarding, and river outfitters are popular from late spring through early fall.

Groceries, fuel, and dining (5 min) A large shopping outlet, major grocery, and sit-down restaurants are five minutes from the property.

WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR

FAMILY REUNIONS AND MULTI-FAMILY TRIPS: Grandparents, parents, and kids each get their own home and their own schedule, then everyone meets at the fire pit in the evening. No one is sharing a bathroom with people they only see once a year.

CYCLING, GOLFING, AND OUTDOOR GROUPS: The Blue Ridge Parkway is 10 minutes from the property. Broadmoor Links Golf Course is 11 miles away. Hiking trails abound in all directions. Come back from a long day of play to four hot tubs and four kitchens.

WEDDING PARTIES AND MILESTONE GATHERINGS: The whole party in one place, without the shared-hallway hotel experience. Each group gets a private home for the long weekend.

WORKSHOP RETREATS AND CLUB GATHERINGS: Writers circles, knitting groups, hiking clubs, yoga retreats. The property has indoor and outdoor spaces to focus and decompress.

Not the right fit for: bachelor or bachelorette parties, pub crawls, or events with outside guests.

Great family vacation cottages.

The location is convenient but the property feels quiet and secluded. The cottages are spacious, clean, and well equipped with everything we could need. The mattresses are so comfortable, we want to purchase the same brand for our home. We are looking forward to returning!

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
Welcome to your home away from home!

I'm Andrea, and my husband, Jason, are the owners of Asheville Luxury Cottages.

This whole adventure started over 20 years ago during a scuba diving trip in Bonaire, when I had a random thought: “Wouldn’t it be cool to run a B&B someday?” A career turn to be sure, having spent 30+ years in healthcare! Still, service, caring for people, and paying attention to details have always been second nature, so hosting just felt right.

Today, we’re proud to welcome travelers to beautiful Asheville—not quite a tropical island, but every bit as magical. Whether you're here for the arts and crafts, the rich natural history, iconic film locations, mouthwatering food, or heart-pumping outdoor adventures, Asheville has something for everyone.

We’re honored to offer you a peaceful, comfortable place to unwind after a day of exploring. Relax, recharge, and enjoy every moment—we’re so glad you’re here.
