Location is excellent for a peaceful, quiet, wonderful view and so many beautiful birds to watch. We had a girls’ crafting weekend and enjoyed the large sitting room surrounded by windows. If all adults are staying, it’s good to know the room with a bunk bed is not necessarily an adult bunk bed, but we made it work. The host was very accommodating and communication was excellent. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!
Everything was clean and tidy. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, and we found everything we needed. The views were excellent and we had a lovely time with family.
This place was so quiet and beautiful! The house was clean and well furnished. We loved the privacy of the island and it was just what we needed for rest and relaxation.
This is an idyllic home on the marsh and water. My favorite parts are the deck on the front with comfortable chairs and great views. I also loved how the host is so nice and responds so quickly. There is a lovely beach that is a short walk away and the owner has provided access courtesy of the hosts. My children were able to play in the water on a hot day and beachcombing for shells. You do need water shoes for sure and bug spray is a must for outside activities as well. Watch out for poison ivy, which is very prevalent in the area. The home is so quiet and we were able to adjust the temperature easily when the weather changed as it does in the spring. It is very close to a grocery store and Yorktown. The home is older and needs some upkeep but I completely recommend it. There is a downstairs large bedroom that is perfect for those that cannot do stairs well. We would absolutely return. loved the huge selection of dishes!!
The views from this sweet little house are just beautiful. Sky & birds & marsh grasses & water, changing every minute as the light or wind or tides shift. We love it here. Beds are comfy, kitchen well equipped, hosts are responsive & friendly. Easy to get into town, but also easy to just relax. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay. The views and surrounding nature were beautiful. Our host was communicative and although we had no issues during our stay they wanted to make sure everything was going well. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful place and great area. One diminishing factor: not disability-friendly. Doable with a walker so I would come again. Possible to at least hint at this in written description?
This is a very unique property. You are on island accessible by either bridge or water.

We love fishing, gardening, long walks and sunset golf cart rides with our children and visiting grandchildren to count the egrets and heron.
Why they chose this property
The property is a true getaway but so convenient to everything in the area. We moved to the main house in 2006 and purchased the cottage in 2012 to have available for famiy, friends and guests. Everyone loves to come to and stay on the island!
