Wonderful place to stay,

  • 5 of 5

The island is conveniently located close to all the attractions, but when you are on the island you are away from it all, the cottage is so comfortable and clean , it had everything we could possibly need for our weeks stay,

Once you go across the little bridge you really are away from the hustle of the area, we will definitely return again

Relaxing island getaway

  • 5 of 5

Hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a vacation. Our family loved the cozy and secluded cottage, right on the York River, with egrets and ospreys fishing in the tidal marshes. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished. The owners were very attentive and helped us keep an eye on the unusually high tides that occurred during our vacation. It was a great adventure that exceeded our expectations!

Great place at a great location

We were very pleased with the house, location, and quietness of the little island. Perfect for a quiet getaway, while still having great accessibility to many attractions.

What a Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this sweet cottage. It's bigger than it looks in the photos and the views are even more beautiful. We had so much fun watching the herons and egrets and even saw a bald eagle. Every night we went outside to 'say goodnight to Mr. Sun' and got to listen to the trumpets from the nearby bases. magical....

Comfy and in a lovely setting

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed the stay very much; wish we had more time to enjoy the place! Good location with a scenic drive from the house to Williamsburg. Interesting wildlife around the property. Cooked a nice meal in the kitchen, which had most everything we needed. Appreciated the fact that there was enough coffee and tea for the first morning as we had forgotten to bring those items and didn't want to go out first thing in the morning. With the cold weather, the forced air heat struggled a bit to keep the house warm, and we raided the sofa bed linens for additional layers, as the comforters were somewhat thin. If we get down to the area again, we'll definitely book it again.

Perfect Home Base

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House was wonderful. Access to local history sites is incredible. Right across the river from Yorktown! We packed an awful lot in during the week, and would definitely recommend. Sleeping was quite tight for our family of six - but we made it work...

Sunrises over the river were definitely the highlight for dad. Seclusion for mom, and the kids - well - the wifi works well, and the attractions we visited were awesome for them...a great time was had by all.

Our island cottage is located on a privately owned 15 acre island in the York River. The cottage is only 2 miles from all convenient amenities but you are in your own quiet, secluded waterfront setting with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The island is less than 15 minutes to historic Yorktown's Riverwalk shopping and beach community. Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are only 20 minutes via the Colonial Parkway. This is one of the most gorgeous, tranquil scenic drives in America.
