About Allison & David Dunkenberger

My wife and I grew up in the area and moved back after spending ~10 years in North Carolina. Having purchased the property from her parents, and getting inspiration from the Central Coast region of California, we planted the vineyard in 2007 and began selling wine commercially in 2011.

Allison & David Dunkenberger purchased this estate in 2003

Why Allison & David Dunkenberger chose Virginia

This custom built house is nestled away in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Expansive views and remarkable sounds of silence and nature make this a truly unique property. We want you to be able to experience the relaxing qualities in an all too busy and hurried world we live in today!

What makes this estate unique

Feel like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, yet enjoy the benefits of the surrounding towns/cities with just a short drive.

Family gathering

  • 5 of 5

Fpur couples from Missouri and Michigan gathered here for my sister's funeral. Although the occasion was a sad one, the home was so lovely it enabled us to comfort one another with the spacious rooms.lovely grounds and well maintained vineyard.

Our spirits were lifted just to be in these surroundings. The home is immaculate and furnished in the most delightful way. We all agreed we would love to return.

Great weekend for our family.

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting the Blacksburg area to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. Her brothers flew in to Richmond and we all stayed three nights at this beautiful home. The house was wonderful, well appointed, and so comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen and on the back deck and we enjoyed walking the driveway down to the creek and beyond. The views were amazing. Our stay was very restful in such a peaceful place. A bit of a drive from VT but worth it if you are looking for luxury accommodations in a quiet and scenic setting.

Housewives of Boyce

We booked this home for our annual girls weekend and we were not disappointed. This home is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The pictures do not actually show how large and airy this home is. There were seven ladies and we had plenty of space for alone time and together time, with seating for all. The kitchen was a joy to cook in and was stroked nicely. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were a high thread count. We went into Roanoke for a few hours and it was only a short drive, the home is only a few miles off I81 but you wouldn't know it. So peaceful and quiet. The owners were so nice and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The only thing I would like to see improved is the wifi, you're only allowed to use 2GB and that is not much. Luckily I have Spint and cell single was strong and I was able to pair my speaker with my cell phone, let the dance party commence 😀򐀊We would definitely rent this home again. Thanks to the owners for having such a beautiful, well maintained home.

Luxury All Over With the Heart of Home

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you cross the bridge over the babbling brook and drive up the long approach to the stately house and vineyard, you feel like you might possibly have just fallen into a movie location. The backdrop of mountains and gorgeous sunsets only amplifies the beauty and luxury of the surroundings. Inside, the house is impeccably decorated and light pours in from large windows and skylights to fill the lofty rooms. Fireplaces keep everything cozy and the whole house is outfitted with every comfort of home. My family and I spent our Christmas here, and the owners even went to the trouble of decorating the house for us. Every minute we were there was special, and the memories will be long-treasured. Thank you for a great experience!
