Come enjoy the wonderful fishing, swimming, fun and relaxation at Thunderbird Point Resort!
Listen to the family of loons singing, birdwatch or catch a glimpse of deer feeding at the water's edge and beavers swimming. Watch bald eagles soar above or dive for their catch while resting on the beach, our swim raft, hammock or out on the dock under 100 year old pine trees right on Lake Bobidosh. View the night skies full of bright stars, the northern lights and hear the sounds of the woods next to a blazing bonfire with friends and family making lifelong memories.
Centrally located and close enough to enjoy all that the Northwoods has to offer we have everything you'll need for your vacation. Whether a long weekend stay, a week or for a month we have many guests who return year after year who love relaxing at Thunderbird Point.
Lollie Sullivan grew up in Chicago and married her highschool sweetheart and raised 7 kids while enjoying the Northwoods half of the year and Florida the rest of the year. Lollie is now retired after owning and operating as CEO of Accurate Title in Marco Island and is enjoying living in the woods @ Thunderbird Point.
Lollie Sullivan purchased this cabin in 1975
Thunderbird Point originally was a family style resort of 6 log cabins nestled on Lake Bobidosh under birch and jack pine trees. The water is so pure; the fishing is so good and the sounds of the Northwoods are soothing.
The views of the lake down from the hill through the trees are breathtaking and the quaintness of the log cabins are so peaceful.
We had a wonderful time at your cabin. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed a little wildlife of deer and loons. The water was crystal clear and the cabin was fully equipped. Thanks again for a great time.
One of the most beautiful resorts we've stayed at in Lac du Flambeau. Lake is gorgeous at sunrise and serenity of wildlife. Location is just far enough out of town without too much touristy chaos. Renting the boat and fishing was the highlight of my trip. Lake Bobidosh is nice and quiet, great swimming. This place has a great beach.
What a beautiful, peaceful place in the north. Immaculately kept little cottage and had all that we needed for the week. Lollie was a courteous host and gave us good suggestions on where to dine and fun spots. Fishing was surprisingly good. We rented the pontoon boat for the week and used other provided toys. Beach was nice and water clear. Kids were swimming most days. Hoping to come back next year.
This cabin was all we had hoped. Very clean and comfortable. We were too early for berry picking but will be back. The loons just hatched two new chicks which was very cool. Wish we hadn't had to go home...
After spending a long weekend at this rental property, it is clear that the owner does not understand the entire framework of “privacy” underlying the premise of VRBO. We felt that the noted distance between our cabin and the main house in pictures and in pre-booking conversations was also misleading as we did NOT have the property to ourselves by any stretch of the imagination. While the cabin itself was nice, it was essentially steps away from the owner’s main house, which required us to share the lakefront with them during our entire stay. In short, we felt like we were intruding on the owner’s family vacation more than getting the chance to enjoy our own.
I would not recommend this property if you’re looking for a true northwoods escape with the privacy you expect when booking a VRBO property.
Our week-long stay at this property was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. We were a party of 6- myself, my husband, our two teenagers and two of their friends. A week at a peaceful lake setting without electronics was something that we all enjoyed. The kids couldn't get enough of the kayaks and rowboats. The boys had a blast fishing. Our black lab swam to her hearts content--which was pretty much every chance she got. We enjoyed campfires and smores, card games and a lot of laughter.
If you're looking for somewhere to go to unplug and unwind--this is the perfect setting for you.
Just minutes from Boulder Junction, Manitowish, Minocqua and Lac du Flambeau for shopping and leisure activities, including casino gambling, restaurants, outfitters, boat rentals, etc. Additionally, five miles from Native American reenactment site and museum Was-Wag-Goning. You are right in the heart of the Northwoods.
