Stayed for a quick trip. The host was quick on response time and the beds were sooo comfortable. Our only issue was the heat did not work in our room and barely blew in the other rooms. Resulting in everyone sleeping with jackets on because it was already 16 degrees outside. Outside of that we would consider booking again when we return in the spring

This was a huge disappointment. The photos for the listing told a different story than the actual accommodations. The apartment was not clean. I don't think the glass coffee table has ever been cleaned, guessing by the fingerprints covering it. I found hair bands and plastic clothing tags on the floor; not to mention the dental pick in the laundry basket. There were black fuzzies left over from a blanket on the mattress that made it appear that there were bugs under the fitted sheet. One of the two washcloths left for use was so dingy I simply put it in the laundry. The security was a joke. I left early one morning and saw what appeared to be a homeless man sleeping on the couch in the lobby. I won't ever stay here again.

Apartment was mediocre clean. Wiped down the dingy countertops, small coffee maker and hand-washed all the silverware as soon as we got there. Outlet in one of the bathrooms did not work at all. Bedding and pillow cases looked like they had not been washed. You could see hair on them. Extra set of bedsheets were wrinkled and looked like they had just been rolled and tossed up onto the closet shelf. Placed our travel bags up on the very same closet shelves and white dust was all over them. Entire building, elevator and hallways smelled of heavy cigarette smoke and some other stinky skunk-like smell. On the first night at 11:30 pm, the fire alarm had been falsely pulled by someone. No fire. Had to walk down the stairs from the 10th floor. A tenant who was there informed us that the alarm gets pulled at least once a month and could not wait until his lease was up. Parking lot had a security gate but the walk-in door to the gate would not stay shut and lock, so security was an issue. The door and locking mechanism to the apartment looked like it was in need of repair/improvement. Heating system stopped working in the main bedroom. Host was very courteous and prompt to my messages - no complaint there. We still managed to make the best of our stay though. Have stayed in other VRBOs incl. other countries and was disappointed in this one. With just a few minor changes and improvements, this property would have received a much better review.

The apartment was spacious. The furniture was durable & looked new. The kitchen and bathroom were remodeled nicely.The AC didn’t work well. All three guest sweated all night and had to open the windows & balcony door. The ceiling fans were noisy, loose and needed oil and screwed tighten. The apartment needed to be tidy up more. My suggestions would be to wash the bedding with bleach, dust mop and wet mop all the floors, especially in the corners, use disinfectant wipes to wipe down the walls, toilet seats, & door knobs, invest in some air fresheners or potpourri, and use furniture wipes to wipe down the all the furniture. I would suggest purchasing thicker bath towels and wash cloths. There was a lot of commotion every night from the neighbors hanging on the balcony until 1-2 AM, dogs barking, people playing loud music until 2 AM, etc.. The Idlewild Apartments, itself needs some renovations to the building, such as the elevators & flooring on each floor needs to cleaned & renovated, and regularly maintenance of the community room and gym area. The location was near downtown which was a plus. The property was secured due to gated parking & the fob system to get into the property. I would rate this stay as a 2.5 out 5 stars. With the suggestions, I can see 3.5-4 out of 5 stars.
