This was one of those rare rentals that felt less like staying in a VRBO and more like being entrusted with a much-loved family home. The house has wonderful old-world charm—historic, beautifully refurbished, high-quality, but comfortable and lived-in in exactly the right way.It was exceptionally family friendly. The kitchen had everything we needed, the large dining table became gathering central, and there were plenty of spaces to spread out. We loved movie nights with the surround sound, and the third floor—with games and instruments—was a favorite. We took turns playing songs on the digital piano, which became one of those unexpected little memories everyone loved. The porch was the pièce de résistance: rocking chairs, a hammock, and an extraordinary lake view. We even saw a double rainbow over the lake, which made an already beautiful setting feel a little magical. The lake access was fantastic. The boathouse was perfect for our boat rental and made hopping aboard incredibly easy. We swam, paddle-boarded, floated in tubes, and our dog fetched off the rock until he could barely keep swimming. The separate fenced yard was also a huge plus. Our host was warm, experienced, responsive, and even stopped by to show us around. Five stars, easily. If this house is available for your dates, consider yourself lucky and book it.
