Loved the area. House was very clean and the host were very polite. The water has a very foul odor from the well, but that is not within the host control so everything else was excellent.

The well passes all health standards, but the H2SO4 has a sulfur smell.
It is good for skin, we’ve been tempted to market it as “spa water” 😉.
We’ll update the well as soon as we can afford to, until then, we include fragrance tabs for the shower. 😎
Our family of five were in town for a wedding right down the street at Greenhill Farms. It was the perfect location with beautiful viewa. The dome had so many extra amenities. We will be visiting again! Thank you Emily!!
Emily and Chuck are fantastic hosts and the Dome was a great place to stay. Had come to finish riding the C&O canal trail, some hiking and visiting DC. The Dome is very quiet. Got to see hummingbirds visit their feeder multiple times and cardinals and purple finches coming to the seed feeder. Also got to see multiple deer, rabbits and butterflies. Woke up every morning to some very talkative birds. The dome had everything I needed, comfortable couch, bed, tv, desk, grill and a nice covered patio. And thanks to their hike recommendation, was fortunate enough to see an owl take flight three times while on a hike to Weverton Cliffs and a section of the Appilachian Trail out to the Ed Garvey. Can't and won't guarantee that everyone will be as lucky.

Thank you Roy! So glad you enjoyed the place, & the critter “neighbors”.
Thank you, for being such a sweet & considerate guest!
You are always welcome here.
The hosts were super lovely, and we were happy to have the opportunity to have met them. They were very helpful in providing information. The house was very clean and spacious having coffee out on the back balcony was a highlight. It was so calm and peaceful the well does have a slight sulfur smell, but this can be easily remedied by bringing a jug of springwater for brushing your teeth. Thank you for a lovely stay!!!

About the host
Hosted by Emily & Chuck Gordon
Locally owned! Chuck is a retired DOD civilian & disabled Veteran. He has worked in hospitals, as an EMT/paramedic, respiratory therapist, and Soldier, then civilian PAO for DOD.
Emily is lifelong naturalist active with the Potomac Audubon Master Naturalists. If you have questions about local ecology, she is happy to educate & inform. Emily’s “day job” is as a Fascial Fitness trainer, & mechanic for the human body, trained in Rolfing® structural integration & osteopathic manual technique, in Germany & the US. If you would like a "trail tuneup" a Fascial Fitness session (we provide mats & foam rollers) or nature & bird walk, check out our Options & Extras (subject to availability). Emily grew up in Austin, Texas. She & Chuck met doing Classical Japanese martial arts, & have lived in Indiana & Bavaria together. The property has been our ecological restoration experiment, since 2015. You may notice that there is less underbrush, & there are a lot of small trees in cages (built by Chuck). The land is "in rehab" systematically suppressing invasive olive, honeysuckle & Ailanthus. Emily also sprays poison ivy & ragweed (can't get all of it, so be careful!). Chuck mows walking paths, & the clear area to the East of the rental. The rest, we leave in meadow, for butterflies, birds & pollinators. Many of the young trees are white oak, a keystone species long missing from the local ecosystem. There are wild black raspberry & honeysuckle vines, as well as lemon balm, thyme & sage plants, for use in drinks, & cooking. We have a martial arts group practicing in the smaller Quonset or outside, you may see us out there sometimes. Don’t be alarmed- we have been practicing for decades. Locally owned by disabled Veteran Chuck, & Emily, a lifelong naturalist who grew up in Austin, Texas. She & Chuck met doing martial arts, & have lived in Indiana, & Bavaria together. Chuck served in the US Army, then as a DOD civilian. Emily is a Fascial Fitness trainer, & mechanic for the hum
