Cozy Bay View - BeachSide, Pet Friendly, Wi-Fi

This unit is right next to the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. There's a house in between us and the beach, but there are no roads to cross, just jump on the new boardwalk and it will take you right to the beautiful wide sandy beach!

This one bedroom Beach Side unit features one Queen size bed, and a twin bed all in the large master bedroom.

We have high speed WiFi and a large 50 inch Smart TV for your entertainment.

Parking is directly outside your door and you can self check in and out with our combination lock system.

Even with a bit of modernizing this property is a historical home that is now over 85 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. Even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming "Cozy Bay View".

We are right next to the public beach access with a new boardwalk that will take you right to the beach.

Our kitchen is fully stocked with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and toaster so you can easily prepare your meals. We have a bar area for dining with 3 bar stools. We have just installed a new leather sofa with a power reclining system.

Quiet hours begin at 9 PM. We are pet friendly with appropriate fees.

This is a Family/Residential unit and area. No parties or loud music or noise.

You can park directly outside your door and self check in and out. And yes, we are pet friendly! (with appropriate pet fees)

This unit is one of 3 units subdivided in this Historical 1950's era home. Nothing is shared as each unit has it's own parking as well as its own entrance and exit.

There is a free public marina with 3 concrete boat ramps only a few blocks away and we have plenty of off-street parking for boats/trailers and vehicles.

Quiet hours begin at 9 PM.

Property was clean and well appointed. Love that it was pet-friendly. Would definitely consider staying again. Would recommend. Suggestions: replace carpet with laminate or hard wood floors - would be easier to clean and hypoallergenic. Blinds on the windows would help the natural lighting and privacy. Thanks again.

It was a work weekend and the cottage was close to the job. (We’re out of Richmond Va)Reason for the 4 star on the listing:Showed the bedroom with 2 double beds and 1 single bed. Actually there are only 1 double and 1 single. No worries though we made it work and it was perfect for us. Will probably book again if y’all will have us.Thanks for letting us stay.

The photos online when we booked were super misleading. There are only two beds in the unit, one queen and one twin in the master bedroom. We had three towels and three wash cloths for 5 people. The air conditioner is located in the master bedroom which keeps that room cool enough but it does not adequately cool the living room and kitchen space. Our teenager had to sleep on the couch. The beach is about a minute walk from the front door, which was nice. It’s a clean beach and wasn’t too crowded. The kitchen and bathroom were adequate. The cleanliness was great. Overall our family had fun which is what we were after but we probably won’t stay there again.

Charming Cottage

Everything we needed for a quick visit to the beach. The cottage is quaint and clean. Sofa bed is what you would expect, but the beds (queen and twin) in the single room were comfortable. Loved the décor and the proximity to the water. A very nice stay.

Good stay

Had an overall nice stay. Very clean. Great location was able to take a walk on the beach and that was definitely needed. Was in town due to family emergency and booked quickly. In the pictures there are 3 beds in room but there were only 2 when we got there a full size and twin. So my daughters were mad they had to sleep together but they got over it. Living room was cold and bedroom got hot.We also booked for 5 people but there were only 3 towels and 3 wash cloths. But made the best of it and overall was a good stay.

Good stay

We like the clean and newly renovated apartment we rented. There is a good access to the pubic beach. I just wish for the easier way to communicate with the owner through the cellphone.

Perfect

The cottage was adorable. Very clean with all the essentials. Could use another frying pan and a baking pan. The beds are not the best but otherwise the place is perfect. Loved how close it was to the beach. The neighborhood was calm with friendly locals. The fishing pier and restaurant was only a mile away with great food. Overall a great experience in Willoughby. Will definitely rent this cottage again soon!

Nice place

The host was nice. The AC was not adequate and it didn’t get above 72 degrees out. There are three houses between this location and the beach. There’s no back door area, it opens up to the road. It is, however on the same side of the road as the bay. The “laundry” is literally a laundromat he told me about when I texted and asked about where the washer and dryer are. It’s really is a decent place to stay. One of the pictures is misleading. It’s a twin bed and a double bed. There’s no outside table (it was at the dwelling next door it is a three plex with #2 on the end). The host/hostess were nice via message, did not meet them (which is understandable just commenting they were responsive). The beach behind the house has rocks a few meters off the shore line but a few hundred feet down is pretty beach that is much more private than most. Thanks!

Wasn't our favorite place

The wrong code was sent to us via email a few days ahead of time so we were unable to get into the place to begin with. They were on top of getting back with us once we message about not being able to get in. Parking was tight when the neighbors got there. They ended up scrathing our truck getting in and out out there car. We slept on the floor the last 2 nights because the living room was not cool. Definitely needed another cooling source when its hot! It is very close to the beach which was nice. It is located in a nice area. Overall, we would stay in a different place next time for the money.

Location to beach is great. Not ocean front but close. No views of beach. Place is dark can’t open curtains due to very close neighbors. We wanted toast and pop tarts for breakfast but had no toaster. No outlets in bathroom for drying hair where the only mirror is. I had to blow dry hair in bedroom and blew a breaker. Luckily my husband found breaker box outside and fixed it. We called owner but no response. So I then got ready in kitchen with my little make up mirror.

Last minute family trip

The unit was very clean and was accurate as described on the site. It was just a short walk to the sandy beach of the Chesapeake Bay. Our biggest complaint was the air conditioning. There was only one small window A/C unit in the bedroom. It was not enough to keep the unit comfortable. We had to place fans in the hall area to pull cool air into living area which is where another bed was located. It stayed uncomfortably warm in the unit (76-80 degree). It was hot outside, but only around low 90’s so not so hot that a properly cooled home should be able to keep comfortable.

Lackluster

We had a few issues while staying here. I tried to open a window and the scotch tape holding the blinds up failed. So the blinds fell off the window where the plastic bit on the wall had been damaged and tape was the apparent fix. There was a bucket under the kitchen sink to catch runoff from the sink. The oil radiator in the living room was not properly put back together last it was worked on and the cover is hanging from the wall. We encountered a mouse inside the home. There was also another critter in the roof just above the door. There was another window, that also did not work properly, that I left unlocked for a couple of mild days. When the wind picked up that window literally fell into the house. I had to place the window back on the wall. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Disappointing experience

This property was not as described or as pictured. It is a run-down unit that lacked in basics - no dish soap to wash dishes (dirty dishes in the cupboard!), OLD and dirty couch and recliner, dirty counter top, no dish cloths, dish towels, or hand towels. Paper thin walls, neighbor in bathroom calling out for toilet paper sounded like she was in our bathroom... Owner said he would refund cleaning fee but has not, said he inspected the grounds after we left and all was good, denied problems with windows (gaps - have pictures and video of them, the living room furniture, and the very warped walls), owner denied mis-representation. Lesson learned - will NEVER rent again without solid reviews history as I had done in the past. The positives - new carpet, bed was comfortable and linens were good (with the exception of no hand towels for bathroom and nothing for kitchen). Didn't mind that there is no view of the ocean - it is a 1/2 block walk to the ocean, which was lovely. This is a very low quality rental, don't be fooled!

Highly disappointed

Unfortunately this listing has no business on a reputable site like VRBO which we have been using for years. The code given for entry did not work when it was below freezing outside There was no heat in the living room. The living room baseboard heater was in disrepair with exposed hot electrical wires The bathroom had no outlet The bathroom blinds had missing slats which prevented seeing in the window The shower curtain and towel rack were not attached and continued to fall down The bathroom sink would not drain The ceiling in the shower had peeling paint that continued to fall into the bath tub. Rodents in the walls made significant noise around the clock. The unit was separated from an adjacent unit by an old window that was never filled in and instead had a thin piece of plywood, allowing us to completely hear each other. The kitchen pans had peeling tephelon There were no simple cleaning supplies such as a dustpan and broom as mentioned in the instructions The only living room light source required reaching to the ceiling to screw and unscrew the bulb to turn it on. We ultimately left the premises a day early. Communication with the property managers was poor.

Location is Perfect!

This is a great little beach cottage that is less than a mintue walk to the beach. The unit is very clean and and comfortable and the owners were fantastic. We needed to reach them at check in and the response was within minutes! The kitchen had all the pots, pans and dishes you would need and having all the linens and towels provided was so helpful. We enjoyed the place very much and would definitley stay there again. Thank you for a great week!

Willoughby spit

I was so happy to be able to find a place that was pet friendly and close to the beach. The rental was very clean! I was concerned at first of the neighborhood but realized this is not a tourist area, and the place could a face lift. Overall we had a good experience.

This is a family endeavor. George, Kathleen and George Jr. are all working hard to provide a fantastic vacation value. We love our Historic and Rustic little cottage. The location can't be beat as you are about a "1/4 cup of coffee" walk to the beautiful beach - right out your door with no streets to cross.
