About Adam and Brandi Machala
Our family purchased this property after an exhaustive search throughout the Southwest Florida region. We loved the remote and natural feel of the area and can't get enough of the natural beauty of the Pine Island Sound. We hope to spend many years enjoying the house and fishing the Sound.
Adam and Brandi Machala purchased this House in 2013
Why Adam and Brandi Machala chose Saint James City
My husband went fishing with friends about ten years prior to our buying the property. He couldn't stop talking about the natural scenary, the fishing, and the great people he met. When we began our search for a home in the area we looked for exactly what he recalled. When we saw our home we knew it was a place we could spend many years gazing at the view and exploring the waterways.
What makes this House unique
The view and deck won us over. With a young daughter I may not get to go fishing everyday but I have a spot that is relaxing and beautiful on the days I don't make it out on the boat. The walk in shower in the master bedroom makes me feel like a million dollars after a long day on the water. The main living area is open; easy to keep an eye on the kids and nice to cook and still be able to take part in the conversation.

Excellent stay in a great house with a great view; well equipped
We absoultely loved staying here. The breezes coming into the house off the beautiful deck made for an awesome week here on Pine Island! Brandi was lovely to deal with and offered lots of advice booking and planning which was helpful. The house is perfectly equipped and immaculate! We maxed out our water experience with a week long boat rental from Monroe "s Marina. We visited Sanibel, Picnic Island and Cayo Costa State Park, North Captiva, Cabbage Key and Ft Myers beach(the state park has a free dock) all by boat. We even brought the kayaks with us to kayak around Tarpon Bay. We always found a place to anchor close to shore and swam and relaxed on the most beautiful beaches. Our 14 yr old girls were the perfect ages to do so. Once we would return to our quiet spot in St James, we enjoyed grilling fresh fish from The Fish House for dinner and catching the sunsets. We also dined at Woody's Waterside, and found the famous "Nervous Nellie's" in Ft. Myers. The gulf waters are beautiful and warm, having the boat was definitely preferred and saves time driving anywhere. We can't say enough great things about our stay and accomodations, hope to do this again! Thanks to the owners for keeping up such a great house for us to borrow!
This was an amazing house in a great location. It was spotless and had everything we needed to feel right at home. Brandi was wonderful to work with and made renting very easy. We used the bikes and kayaks provided. The bikes were a great way to get around. There were many quiet roads to walk/run/bike. We enjoyed bird watching from the house- especially the bald eagle nest. There were binoculars at the house to use for seeing up close. There were many restaurants on Pine Island. Most very casual with wonderfully fresh seafood. We would definitely stay here again.
An absolutely incredible vacation getaway. The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated, spacious and also provided every conceivable amenity. There were great local spots for food and drink and we spent several evenings using the Weber grill and eating out on the deck Watching the boat traffic was fun and we even took advantage of the kayaks and did a little exploring through the canals.
We took a 9am boat shuttle from Island Girl Charters located about 15 minutes away to North Captiva. Had our choice of the beach on the sound or the gulf. We enjoyed a great lunch at Barnacle Phil's and had plenty of time left before our return boat ride.
The quaint little shops located about 20 minutes away in Matlacha provided Island charm and unique gifts. The fresh fish was phenomenal and prepared superbly.
Also spent an afternoon at the community pool. Almost like having your very own Olympic size pool.
Thank you for allowing your home to be shared. Can't wait to return in the very near future. We would rate our overall experience as an A++++
Spectacular Upscale Waterfront Rental
The pictures on this web-site do NOT do the wonderful home justice. The house appears to be brand new, extremely well stocked and spotless! Rather than your basic rental, this is like staying at a friend's brand new, upscale home. It is warm, inviting and very nicely decorated. The owners were delightful to deal with and very patient with my many questions. Pine Island is as laid back as you get. Great fishing and great local restaurants if you don't fish. It was the perfect, relaxing vacation and everyone in my family thoroughly enjoyed the trip. See you next year!
Pine Island is Florida's best kept secret. We are one of the best places in the country for fishing (snook, redfish, trout, cobia, and some of the best tarpon fishing in the world). Cayo Costa State Park (7 miles of untouched beach not accessible by car) is just a short boat ride away. The vibe is casual island with none of the built up high rises that can block the great views. Take a tour on the kayaks to see the untouched beauty in the area.
