About this property

Remodeled Lake Cabin | Rare Level Lot | Sleeps 10

Welcome to The Farmhouse at Cabin Creek

Wake up to breathtaking, unobstructed sunrises over Lake Gogebic from your own private shoreline at The Farmhouse at Cabin Creek.

Located on the western shore of Lake Gogebic—one of Michigan's premier inland fishing and recreational lakes—our completely remodeled lakefront home offers something that's surprisingly rare: easy walk-out access to the water. The large, level yard makes it easy to swim, launch a kayak, play yard games, or simply relax by the lake while taking in some of the best views in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Whether you're planning a fishing trip, family vacation, snowmobile getaway, or relaxing weekend with friends, The Farmhouse was designed to be your home away from home.

Newly Remodeled for Comfort

Over the past year, we've extensively remodeled the home to create a warm, modern space while preserving its Up North character.

Highlights include:

Brand-new kitchen
Two beautifully remodeled bathrooms
Updated bedrooms and living spaces
Remodeled lakeside porch
A spacious sectional with two power recliners and a center console provides plenty of comfortable seating, complemented by an additional recliner—the perfect place to relax after a day on the lake or trails.
New mattresses, bedding, towels, throw blankets, furnishings, and lighting throughout
Air conditioning and an indoor fireplace for year-round comfort
The Porch You'll Never Want to Leave

The enclosed lakeside porch quickly becomes everyone's favorite gathering place.

Start your morning with coffee from the coffee bar while watching the sunrise over the lake. Enjoy meals around the dining table, curl up on the daybed with a book, or spend a rainy afternoon working on a puzzle while taking in panoramic waterfront views.

Many guests tell us they spend more time here than anywhere else in the house.

Lake Gogebic is famous for trophy walleye, jumbo perch, northern pike, boating, and unforgettable days on the water.

About the host

Hosted by Mike Larson

Host profile image
Hey there! I’m Mike Larson — a Northern Minnesota guy who grew up loving the outdoors: boating, hockey, and snowmobiling. These days, I still ride in the Blackwood Blizzard Tour every year to raise money for ALS.

I’m married to my wife Kristin (23 years and counting), and we have two busy, fun-loving kids. I’ve coached both of them in hockey and passed on my love for fishing, ATVs, snowmobiles, jet skis, boats, wakesurfing, paddleboards, and kayaks.

Kristin grew up in the Twin Cities, but her family lives in Warroad & Canada — places we try to visit often. It has that same great, remote feel as the Upper Peninsula, which is one of the reasons we fell in love with this area back in 2015.

At Cabin Creek, campfires are a nightly ritual, and you might hear about my son’s favorite food — “Canadian Chicken” (because for some reason, he refused walleye but loved Canadian Chicken!).

We’re big fans of the outdoors, good food, and relaxed times with family and friends. If you need local tips or anything to make your stay better, just let us know!
