About this property

The Farmhouse at Cabin Creek: Lake Gogebic Retreat

Wake up to unobstructed sunrises over Lake Gogebic from your own private shoreline.

The Farmhouse at Cabin Creek sits on the western shore of Lake Gogebic — one of Michigan’s premier inland fishing lakes — and offers something rare: a large, usable yard with nearly perfect elevation to the water. No steep stairs. No awkward cliffs. Just easy access to the lake and room to spread out.

This is true lakefront living.

Exciting Updates for Summer 2026

We are currently completing a main floor renovation that will be finished by the end of May.

Updates include:

Brand new main floor kitchen

New mud room designed for snowmobile gear, fishing equipment, and additional storage

Fully remodeled main floor bathroom

Refreshed main floor bedroom

These improvements will make Cabin Creek even more functional for fishing groups, families, and multi-day stays. If you are booking for late spring or summer, you will be enjoying these updated spaces.

Built for Anglers

Lake Gogebic is known for trophy walleye, jumbo perch, and northern pike. Whether you're fishing early mornings or cruising structure at sunset, the lake is your backyard.

Property highlights for boaters and fishermen:

Mooring lines for up to two boats

Easy shoreline access

Space for trailer parking

Additional full-size refrigerator for food and beverages

Washer and dryer access for longer stays

Plenty of yard space to stage gear

Spend the morning fishing, tie up at the property for lunch, then head back out — or boat directly to one of the popular lakefront restaurants.

With miles of shoreline to explore, you can fish, cruise, or simply relax on open water all day.

Rare Lakefront Setup

Many Lake Gogebic properties have steep drop-offs or heavy stairs to reach the water.

Cabin Creek offers:

Nearly ideal walk-out elevation

Swimmable frontage

Large, flat yard

Room for yard games and gathering

Clear views across the lake

You can watch the kids swim from the yard without navigating steep terrain.

Designed for Families and Groups

The home comfortably sleeps 10+ guests with:

Eight real beds across four bedrooms

Two swinging daybeds on the enclosed porch

No adult bunk beds

The layout works equally well for fishing groups or families traveling together.

Evenings at Cabin Creek

Lake days end the right way here.

Bonfires by the water

Sonos speakers throughout the home

Vintage turntable for classic cabin atmosphere

Streaming access for sports and movies

Peaceful sunrise views over the lake each morning

This is the kind of place where mornings start quietly on the dock and evenings wind down around the fire.

Additional Amenities

Fully functional kitchen (brand new main floor kitchen completed end of May)

Keurig coffee maker (starter K-cups provided)

Large parking area

Heated garage (available seasonally)

Exterior security cameras at entry points only

There are no cameras inside the home.

Lake Gogebic summer weekends fill quickly.

We came for an ice fishing trip and this house was perfect. We launched directly off the shoreline with our snowmobiles and even found great fishing 500 yards out from the cabin. Mike was great and very accommodating. Highly recommend and we'll be back.

About the host

Hosted by Mike Larson

Host profile image
Hey there! I’m Mike Larson — a Northern Minnesota guy who grew up loving the outdoors: boating, hockey, and snowmobiling. These days, I still ride in the Blackwood Blizzard Tour every year to raise money for ALS.

I’m married to my wife Kristin (20 years and counting), and we have two busy, fun-loving kids. I’ve coached both of them in hockey and passed on my love for fishing, ATVs, snowmobiles, jet skis, boats, wakesurfing, paddleboards, and kayaks.

Kristin grew up in the Twin Cities, but her family lives in Warroad & Canada — places we try to visit often. It has that same great, remote feel as the Upper Peninsula, which is one of the reasons we fell in love with this area back in 2015.

At Cabin Creek, campfires are a nightly ritual, and you might hear about my son’s favorite food — “Canadian Chicken” (because for some reason, he refused walleye but loved Canadian Chicken!).

We’re big fans of the outdoors, good food, and relaxed times with family and friends. If you need local tips or anything to make your stay better, just let us know!
