this is our second time staying at the property and love staying here! the location was perfect for our trip. caught lots of smallmouth bass and perch on the little buffalo river just a cpl min drive from the property. and spend days enjoying the buffalo national river as well. such a great location if visiting the buffalo national river with ponca low water crossing, steel creek launch and pruitt landing all under 25 minutes to get to. Ms Pruitt was very accommodating and such a nice host. and the kids loved her sweet dog Scout also. we will definitely be back very soon!.

Randy and Judy requested arrived a day earlier than planned and I was happy to accommodate them in that request with no extra charges - compliments of Buffalo River Bunkhouse, a clean and comfortable lodging which is centrally located to all the places guests will want to visit.

Restful setting

We had everything we needed for a restful stay. We especially enjoyed hanging out in the patio looking over the meadow view on nice fall days.

Great location & comfortable

Great views and super nice host. Highly recommend. Although not huge it Is set up for 6-8 guests. Very reasonable.

Girls weekend

Thelma was easy to communicate with and we had what we needed during our stay. Would have liked a listing of avaliable restaurants in the area and ideas for things to do.

I appreciate your suggestion to make a list of places to eat and things to do. I do have a brouchere published by our local Chamber of Commerce that lists all those places. Thank you for choosing to stay at the Buffalo River Bunkhouse and I hope you will return as often as you are in the area.

Nice place

Thelma was very welcoming and accommodating. My sisters and I stayed for 4 nights and the place was as advertised. Thelma’s dog Scout likes to check people out but he’s a sweetheart. We hiked and toured waterfalls.

Spacious Acommindations

I really enjoyed staying at the Buffalo Bunk House. It is a very spacious facility with all kinds of room and it is well stocked with all kinds of cookware. I was very comfortable there. The bunkhouse has several beds and would be an ideal location for a large family. Thelma the owner is a great host and on top of all that it is also affordable.

So peaceful

My daughter and I stayed at this establishment and loved every minute of it. The owners were very, very accommodating and caring. Make sure that we were taken care of. It was a pleasure to sit and visit with. I have no complaints about this place. I never leave a review, but I had to for this one for a large group of people. This is a perfect place to stay.

Love the homey feeling of Jasper and this place was everything we hoped for. Got to hike a little with my 4 kids before the rain moved in, but the Ozark cafe up the road was delicious as always and getting to hunker down, play board games, watch movies and just relax was a perfect way to spend the second leg of our trip. The kids kept asking on our way home, when we can go back? So we definitely will be visiting again!

Not a cabin

Good place for multiple people. But definitely not a cabin, nor rustic. Very close to owners house right next door.

Pictures and text on my site do not claim the Buffalo River Bunkhouse as rustic and it states that it is located close to the owners home. That has never been a problem because guests who chose to stay here know it before they book their reservation. Guests like that it is conveniently close to town and located central to all the features that draw people to this area. And they appreciate the cleanliness and the affordable rates.

Pros Owner was very responsive to messages Room was clean Cons Owner lives a few feet away, so if you’re looking for privacy for your family’s getaway, this isn’t the place The bathroom and laundry area are not air conditioned

Remember the important reasons you choose this place:. Very low rent and Close to services, Convenience,and Cleanliness. So in the end, you got what you paid for. Many other cabins located farther out in the country and accessable by gravel roads will give you the privacy you want - but you will pay high rent for it.

This place was everything we needed to be home away from homeShe has signs with directions on different things throughout so we didnt need to ask a thingWas very cleanNear where we wanted to goJust exactly what we hoped for Very private and quiet We heard no outside noise They have a sweet calm friendly dog named Scout He's great We plan to go back in the fall with my 84 year old mom, 2 adult daughters and 4 year old granddaughter They will love itThere is 1 bed and washer and dryer in room near bathroom. The main room has 3 beds, a great roku TV ,and satelite or dish that we didn't use. Comfortable chairs throughout and a fully stocked kitchen if we wanted to cook. Wonderful wifi signal especially considering this is in the hills and signal gets lost while driving. It has a window air-conditioning that works very well. Kept the place very cold like we like it. And plenty of extra blankets and towels if we needed it. Also the shower has great hot water that didn't run out. And I like very hot water. I have only the highest praise for this place. Nothing negative at all. This was a totally positive experience and the price was very affordable.

This place is a gem, best deal in the area. It’s big and has 4 beds, a couch, a rocking chair and a table that can seat 6. There are also outdoor tables and a charcoal grill. The place is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped with pots, utensils, and plates, there’s even a deep fryer and a crockpot. There’s only 2 restaurants in town so this was a must for us. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of blankets. The bathroom has plenty of linens and the washer and dryer are new. It sits close to town but it sits on a large property and there are plenty of birds all over. I would definitely recommend this place and will probably return.
