Would I stay here again, YES!

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Horseshoe cottage and you will too. Trish is a most generous hostess.

As mentioned in other reviews the welcome muffins were scrumptious.

Horseshoe cottage is in a quiet street and access to the falls is via the easily reach River road. A night walk to the falls is well worth the effort and at no time did we feel unsafe.

The cottage is well appointed with every thing you need to make your stay comfortable . The kitchen has all the features and crockery you would expect to have in your own home and all in A1 condition.

The lounge room has comfortable furishings and the bathroom has great water pressure with ample hot water.

The main bedroom is very comfortable and we had a great night sleep.

The bedroom is reach via stairs so if you have mobility issues unfortunately this is not the cottage for you.

As mentioned there are no laundry facilities , this also includes no iron or ironing board which would come in handy when you are living out of a suitcase.

All instructions are clearly written.

Once again my thanks to Trish for making our stay possible. You certainly have an accomodation gem.

Cute, clean house! Would have liked some extra towels but should have called the owner and I'm sure she would have brought some over! Highly recommended!

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed 2 nights/3 days in Niagara Falls at this house and it was a very enjoyable experience. There was only 2 of us staying but the home would be perfect for a family of 4. It was nice to have a place to go a little bit away from the crowds near the falls. Clean home, close to the falls, I would recommend this rental.

We loved staying at the Horsehoe Cottage. It was so close to the Falls and very neat and clean!

Tiny but cozy. The one day it rained so we weren't able to take advantage of the patio but the next morning we did! Throughly enjoyed our stay and would most definitely recommend staying here! Trish was a thoughtful hostess!

Met and Exceeded Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

When planning vacations, we always pursue lodging that is quiet and off the beaten path (yet close to the attractions we want to see), along with sufficient space that provides privacy and the ability to relax without feeling cramped and walking over each other. (We are a family of four with a 13-year-old son and his 12-year-old friend). I knew this rental exceeded our expectations when my wife said that she wanted to come back within ten minutes of walking through the front door. The home is cozy and provided everything we needed. The living area was actually bigger than expected after reviewing the pictures. Both bedrooms were upstairs and across the hall from one another, and having the full bath on the main floor was a real plus for us, as it allowed the kids to sleep in as my wife and I could get ourselves ready for the day. What I found amazing was how quiet and tranquil the neighborhood was, especially being within walking distance (just over 1/2 mile to Rainbow Bridge) from all the attractions. (Would highly recommend buying the Adventure Pass from Niagara Parks web site to provide WEGO/bus access to all Niagara attractions, thus allowing you to leave your car in the driveway the entire day.) My wife and kids felt perfectly safe walking to and from the attractions, even when returning home late at night after watching the fireworks from Rainbow Bridge and Oakes Theater. Trish was the perfect host by contacting us via e-mail once we arrived to make sure we were all right, and our correspondence throughout the week was excellent in providing suggestions and fixing minor issues such as a burned-out lightbulb in the kitchen. We simply couldn't have been happier and was money well spent; not only in terms of value for living space but allowing us to save tremendously on parking and making our own meals from home. (One other recommendation for tourists in general is to purchase Niagara Falls tour book by Moon books on Amazon; excellent/accurate information on how to maximize your stay!) Thanks Trish for your kindness and hospitality!!
