'Home of We Three Guys' helps capture the traditions of old Hawaii
Let the soft rhythm of the nearby surf and the aroma of jungle flowers lull you into relaxation
as you enjoy the spacious lanai of this new (2013) open concept home in Seaview Kalapana
Estates. Our home is located on a secluded, dead end street, and is filled with sunshine all day.
Once on the lanai, where you may well spend all
your leisure time, you will look out to jungle and
traditional ohia trees. Meals can be cooked on
the Weber grill and served at the large table,
with seating for six.
Off one side of the lanai, through double french
doors, you enter the great room, with large
windows that offer views out to the jungle. Here
is where you can gather with friends and family
while you relive the day's adventures and cook
up a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen,
with gas range set into the large granite-topped
island, microwave, full fridge, and dishwasher.
When it is time to sleep, there is the colorful
bedroom with queen size bed (and direct access
to the lanai through double french doors), a
Scandinavian sofa that reclines to form a full size
bed, or the queen size murphy bed on the lanai,
should you or family want to sleep outdoors.
The large bathroom, adjacent to the bedroom
and just past the stacked washer/dryer, has a
tiled shower and plenty of counter space. You
may decide to skip the indoor shower and exit
through the bathroom door to the bamboo enclosed outdoor shower! This is the best place
to wash off sand after a visit to the nearby,
family friendly, and clothing optional Kehena
black sand beach.
For evening entertainment, enjoy your favorite
movie on the 32 inch flat screen with DVD
player. If you are here over a Wednesday, a short drive will find you at Uncle Robert's Kava Bar where you can enjoy treats from local chefs, sway to the Hawaiian rythmn of slack key and
ukulele, or just relish the sense of community.

About Dan Coles and Steve Lelievre
We Three Guys, Dan, Steve, and our son Geoffrey, live in Seattle and on Orcas Island. We have enjoyed many trips to the Big Island, and recently completed our new home in Kalapana Seaview Estates. We have travelled extensively and have done home exchanges all over the world. We welcome visitors from all over to our Hawaiian paradise.
Dan Coles and Steve Lelievre purchased this House in 2013
Why Dan Coles and Steve Lelievre chose Pahoa
The Puna Coast district offers the opportunity to unwind in a laid back, friendly, 'off the tourist track' environment. Enjoy the local space market, Kehena black sand beach, Kalani Retreat Center, nearby snorkeling and Volcano National Park. There is also the funky town of Pahoa approximately 15 minutes away by car.
What makes this House unique
The home is new and offers an open concept to living, amidst vivid colors that capture the heart of Hawaii. Unlike other one bedroom homes in the area, 'Home of We Three Guys' is very spacious. The lanai offers a place to grill up your favorite Ahi tuna steak and relax with family and friends. Nearby neighbors are welcoming and friendly and very willing to share their secret local escape (such as Mermaid Pools and Green Lake).

Fantastic place off the beaten track but not isolated.
All the previous reviews have pretty much said what can be said about Dan's and Steve's place. It's just so well thought out and put together in a marvelous location.
Upon our arrival we found the house keeping left a bit to be desired. The owners seemed truly stunned that this was the case and assured us that the situation will be addressed for future clients.
As I write this Kilauea eruptions are causing havoc in the area and it is our hope that the situation doesn't get too dire.

Cozy and well-equipped
We arrived to find tropical fruits and drinks left by the hosts, a pleasant welcome! As all reviewers in the past mentioned, the house is well-equipped and we really appreciated having the convenience of a "home" while staying on the island. We loved playing with friendly geckos, spotting wild mommy and baby pigs strolling in the garden, and falling asleep to the sound of singing coqui frogs every night. The house was in a tropical paradise, with lots of sudden downpour mixed with sunshine, and also a great varieties of fruits growing in the garden (pineapple, papaya). It is pretty secluded, so driving and planning for food is essential.
Rena and family,
Steve and I are so pleased that you found our home relaxing and meeting your every need. We enjoyed the photos you shared of the many sights in the area that you visited.
We hope you will share details of our home with friends and family. And we hope to see you back at Home of We Three Guys in the future.
Best to you,
Dan and Steve
We loved the home! It was the perfect size for a couple. The garden was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed all the different plants and flowers and have the pictures to prove it. The area was quiet and we spent most of out time on the lanai. The kitchen was well equipment and a joy to cook in together. Thank you for the thoughtful gift of coffee, wine and fresh fruit to greet us!
We are so pleased that our home met your needs and provided you with a place to relax and enjoy the garden and lanai, and that the well equipped kitchen made cooking meals a joy.
We do hope that you will make a return visit in the future.
Mahalo and aloha,
Dan and Steve
Quiet and private
We loved staying here. We swam each day at the hot springs and explored all the nearby beaches. The house layout was brilliant as it had a separate sleeping area to lounge/kitchen. Having the washer and dryer was a lifesaver with our two year old
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in our home. We hope you will spread the word about Home of We Three Guys, and that we will see you back again soon.

Much more than we expected
Upon arrival, we were impressed with the property. Spacious open concept with a comfortable master bedroom and a full kitchen..
Ample supplies were left stocked here and everything you would need.( first aid, soaps, etc) they even left mosquito repellent!
It felt like it was our very own home. Dining on the deck was great, the outdoor Murphy bed and shower were cute.
Every morning a neighborhood dog came to visit during morning coffee. The geckos are plentiful and are almost like pets, drop a piece of fruit and watch their cute little tongues lap it up. The clothing optional beach, although full of characters was safe and fun..Perhaps not the most age appropriate place, but our teenage girls did not seem to bothered by it.
All in all, if we have the chance to visit Puna again, we will definitely stay here again.
Ps...if you like it quiet at night, bring earplugs, this is the jungle, and all matter of critter sing deep into the night.
Steve and I are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our home in Puna. We hope you will consider another stay on your next Hawaiian vacation.
Dan and Steve
One of the best places I've stayed!
The house was absolutely perfect. The place was stocked with any and all things you could ever need while on the island!
Rosanna and family,
We are so glad that you all enjoyed your stay at our home in Puna, on the island of Hawaii. You are welcome back any time.

For some traditional Hawaiian music and to meet the locals, visit Uncle Robert's Kava Bar and Museum, only 6 miles from your holiday home. Wednesday night comes alive at five o'clock with slack guitar and ukulele music accompanying the singers. Enjoy a variety of food from local chefs and art pieces from local artists. You might choose to cycle the Red Road that parallels the coastline and leads to snorkeling pools (Kapoho) and warm geothermal pools. Or you might hop in your car for a short drive to Volcano National Park to visit Kilauea crater and witness this active volcano. Nearby, including at Uncle Robert's Kava Bar, there are food and artisan street markets. Further afield is the Hilo Market, on Wednesday and Saturday, 6 a.m.-4 p.m. The Maku'u Market, just outside Pahoa (about 20 minutes from the house) happens each Sunday. It offers fabulous eateries for a hearty breakfast or lunch. The nearby town of Pahoa has several outstanding restaurants, including Ming's (Thai), Kaleo's (fine American seafood and burgers), and Luquins (Mexican, with fabulous margaritas). Kaleo's is known as 'making a name for itself as the place to go for innovative, Hawaiian-inspired local-style favorites
