Island Jewel - Sweet "Suite" Retreat in Charming Kure Beach

Just a short walk to the ocean and charming Kure Beach, ISLAND JEWEL offers a unique opportunity to enjoy all that Kure Beach has to offer just minutes away from all the fun. Enjoy this private retreat get-away on the bottom floor of a single family home on a quiet cul-de-sac in the well loved Kure Dunes sub-division. This two room suite (comparable to a hotel suite) has a private entrance and is completely separate from the owner occupied portion of the home. The suite includes a large family room that includes a sizable work station, with high speed internet available for those wishing to work or study remotely. There are two TVs, one in the family room with a DVD player and one in the private bedroom. There is a separate bath with tub, and all towels and linens are provided. A queen sleeper sofa (with mattress topper) in the family room provides a place to sleep for additional guests. Island Jewel also provides hotel suite amenities including a small refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and hot/cold filtered water dispenser (Please note this unit does not include a full-service kitchen.) Enjoy breakfast and lunch ensuite, and explore Pleasure Island and Wilmington for terrific evening meals at the many wonderful restaurants the area has to offer. Come stay a day, a week or longer at Island Jewel!

We had the loveliest time at the Island jewel! Our pups enjoyed the fenced in yard area for them and the walkable beach access was unbeatable! It was a very comfortable stay and we will absolutely be coming back! I could not recommend the Island Jewel to anyone wanting to have a weekend away enough!!

The house was very cozy and clean. check in was easy and our host responded very quickly with questions we had. It is a very short walk to the beach and restaurants Definitely would love to visit again.

This property was awesome. The attention to detail the owners offered, stocked cabinet with paper plates, plastic silverware down to the bowl of dog biscuits left for your pup which my Dixie enjoyed several! Definitely want to book again. Nice quiet area fenced in yard.

The Island Jewel truly lives up to its name—offering unbeatable location, thoughtful amenities, and every convenience you could hope for. The hosts genuinely thought of everything: paper products, snacks, tea and coffee, a water cooler, wine glasses, and even a wine opener. It made our stay effortless and enjoyable.

The place was nice, very clean, and overall for our weekend trip it was decent place to stay. However, we were not aware that the host would be living full time above us. We could hear them walking around, we could hear their TV, when they use their water upstairs you can hear it running through the pipes, their dogs came downstairs to a connecting door and was barking, and they let their own dogs in the fenced in portion which made our dog bark at 7:00am. While the place was clean we didn’t feel comfortable knowing they were right there—not that we did anything wrong but just not the notion VRBO advertises which is the “entire” place to yourself. We did have to ask for a plunger which we used and had to immediately return upon their request. They did vacate often however when they were away their dogs would come downstairs and bark. Overall clean place, decent stay, but if you don’t want to run into the host while on your vacation this may not be the place for you.
