About Pam & John

We moved to Canandaigua Lake Region in 2012. Truly have fallen in love with the lifestyle, people, restaurants, wineries, shops and everything this beautiful area has to offer. They call it 'The Chosen Place' for a reason!! When the opportunity arose to purchase Sunset Deck and be able to share this feeling with everyone, we jumped on it. We are excited for others to feel the tranquility and experience the enjoyment of the water, views and local offerings; which will be true memory makers.

Pam & John purchased this house in 2013

Why Pam & John chose Canandaigua Lake

Adorably appointed and perfectly located close to everything!! Sliding glass door takes you out onto the spacious wrap around decks, all rooms tastefully painted, all bedding and quality towels, tv, pots and pans and accessories! Books, cards board games, magazines, dvds, internet and 200 Chnls of cable entertainment for a rainy day or on the deck.

What makes this house unique

When walking into the property at our viewing... we both said, WOW! look at that view. The front on the house is a large picture window and sliding glass door. All you can see is the lake and greenery. Then we walked outside on the spacious wrap around deck... and said WOW! yet again. We couldn't believe we found this gem that is so close to all attractions, yet very private with all public utilities and easy access from road. Many properties in the area have steep driveways, this does not. Driveway is easily accessed right off the road.

Quaint getaway with wonderful lake views

  • 4 of 5

This place was exactly what we look for during our annual 4th festivities with family who lives here year round. Growing up on Canandaigua Lake the location and environment are #1 For us and this lovely cottage delivered. Views off the back deck are spectacular and the property itself is very welcoming, clean and comfortable when you arrive. Kitchen And bath had everything we needed to live comfortably for our week long stay. Pam the owner continued to check in to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay and her welcome package detailed anything someone would want to do or see during their visit. The only thing that made us give 4 stars instead of 5 was the spiders that also seemed to feel welcome in the home as we got rid of a handful each day in the bedrooms and bathroom; We couldn't ask for a better experience otherwise. We will definitely seek out this rental again in the future!

Charming little cottage with million dollar views

  • 5 of 5

The Sunset Deck is a lovely little cottage over looking the lake. It has all of your creature comforts and the most amazing view of the lake from the deck. The weather was a bit unpredictable so we didn't spend as much time on it as we would have liked, nor did we start a fire. My only complaints are that the couch and one of beds were not terribly comfortable.

The cottage is located outside the town of Canandaigua, which makes it a perfect location. It's secluded, yet close enough for quick trips in town. The town is really nice, as well. The people are friendly and the food and beer were delicious.

Pam and John were great to work with and I would definitely recommend them and their cottage to others.

Our family stayed there for the weekend and it was great. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The view and porch were our favorites. Thank you.

Wonderful rental!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here last fall for four nights. In September, the Finger Lakes are absolutely lovely and this was the perfect place to stay to enjoy the stunning sunsets. The inside is clean and cute; we cooked several meals here and had all the dishes, utensils etc. that we could need. The owner was friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again.

Second Time as Good as the First!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd visit to this cottage and hopefully not our last!

Why we love it - The deck is so spacious and has a beautiful view of the lake. Even though there are neighbors, the trees provide privacy for deck dining, reading, star gazing or whatever.

The cottage has everything you need, and is decorated with an artistic eye, but homey and comfortable enough to settle right in.

The area has so many things to discover, so we were never bored. This visit included our 22 year old and he was just as happy as his parents. We visited vineyards and micro-breweries, but also just drove around stopping at whatever interested us at the moment; a great view or an ice cream shop. It was an ideal vacation!

The owners are wonderful, and you really feel you are renting from a friend.
