Company was great ..maintenence response poor

Sat at almost 5pm, while getting ready to go to dinner, we blew a circuit in upstairs hall bath and outlet in master bath. Two hairdryers. We called immediately and was told maint would be there in 20 min. We came home at about 930pm and still no power to those locations. We called and sat on hold for 30minutes. Tried texting after being on hold 15 minutes told to call the number and that the office was open till. Finally got an answer was told no overnite maint..we should call the next morning after 8am. They would extend checkout til noon and give us a gift bag. (So now our friends sr citizens had to use a bathroom with no lights and walk from bedroom to bath hoping not to fall down stairs). When we called the nextmorning and asked for mgr..she told us securitycould have reset the breaker. She would extend us to noon chkout and give us a $25 gift card and send maint over. We waited..they came at 1150am..so no showers before we left. Very disappointed.

This property needs serious improvements and attention. 1. "Musty smell when entering unit. 2. Carpets need thorough cleaning 3. Air condition difficult to control between up and down stairs. 4. Tray support in dish washer is detached. 5. Most visitors on vacation would expect unit to have basic things such as wine glasses and a wine opener. etc. 7. Slow sink drain in master bedroom.

Alot of nice things about unit but a few things didnt work out

As this is a resort, the owner does not pick which unit you get or take care of it, so its pot luck how the rooms will be . Our rooms were clean and we asked the front desk for a room without steps which they did, my family liked the pool as well. However the beds and pillows were not good and in middle of the night my wife went to sleep in my kids room where one of the beds was ok. I was not as lucky. All the owner could say was to pack up and ask front desk to move to a different villa, but that was big hassle for us so didn't bother. For ac in bedrooms didnt work, when we spoke to maintence they told us at night to shut vents on other room to make bedrooms a little better so now we knew for next night, When our hot water went out with my son in the bath and shampoo in his hair, maintence did come rightaway and an hour later the hot water returned but by then we had already boiled water to rinse my sons head and my daughter went to sleep without a bath . So for such a great price you might end up with a great unit but its a gamble and youu might get to know the nice folk at the front desk staff. P.s. the confirmation email we got and what the app says is 12 pm checkout but email from owner is 10am so make sure to read owners email (and front desk might give you an extension till noon if asked but again its between you and the front desk) so not owners fault, this is how resorts work

Nice and Relaxing

My family and I have been staying in the poconos for well over 10 years. Jan’s place is typical of Poconos Villas. It had all the essentials and a wood burning fireplace which is always a plus. The beds were clean and comfy. Refrigerator was clean. The sink in the master bathroom was clogged ( you may want to take a look into that). If I may, I would suggest water spraying the outside of the front of the house because there’s lots of dead bugs ( no fault of the owners). The owner Jan is very nice and kept me updated from my initial contact up to my day of arrival. This was really important for me and my family. She responded within a reasonable time frame if I had any questions or needed reassurance. We love the poconos and will rent from Jan again!!!
