この家はチャペルヒルの南7マイルに位置し、5エーカーの成熟した森と岩と小川があります。 アーティスティックオーナーが選んだ備品、色、ディテールがすべて揃ったカスタムデザインの家です。

急な切妻は、外側からは「物語の本」の家のように見え、内側はロフトの上に星の形を作る高いアーチ型の天井を形成します。 オリーブグリーンの色は家を自然と調和させ、いつもそこにあったように見えます。

家はコテージとアーツ＆クラフツのスリルですが、ビクトリア朝と現代の要素も含まれています。 多くの窓と大きなスクリーン付きポーチは、多くの岩が散らばった私有林の景色を眺めています。 玄関の柱は、土地から切り取られた木です。

メインフロアには、オープンキッチン/リビングルーム、ガス暖炉があります。 キッチンと玄関の天井は、敷地から切り取られた木からのオーク板で覆われています。 マスターベッドルームにはクイーンサイズのベッドがあり、共用バスルームへの入り口があります。 他のベッドルームには、トランドル付きのデイベッドとデスクがあります。 床は5インチのチェスナットオークボードです。

I was so happy with this rental! This is such a beautiful property in a heavily wooded area. Lots of privacy. Even in the late July heat, we were able to use the screened porch during the day due to a strong ceiling fan that kept the air circulating. Fantastic spot to sit, read and relax while enjoying the sounds of the woods. We saw hummingbirds daily which was a real treat! The kitchen is very well stocked with pretty much everything you may need to prepare food. Highly recommend staying here.

Very well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Very cozy, nice gas fireplace with great views, cool chairs throughout the property to relax and enjoy nature. Just loved this place.

We stayed here for my daughter’s college graduation. Beautiful property in picturesque setting. It was exceptionally clean and had any amenity a family would need. Screened porch was perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks. Although the house was in very private setting, there was a grocery store and restaurants very close by. The owner was responsiveto questions. I would highly recommend this property.

An absolutely amazing property, easily one of our favorite places we’ve ever rented! Our host Sherri was incredibly kind and professional while creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.The home itself is so charming! We couldn’t get enough of all the beautiful artwork, whimsical details, and thoughtful touches throughout the house. It was absolutely perfect for our group of friends, and we truly appreciated how much care went into making the space unique. The outdoor seating areas were probably our favorite part. We spent so much time together enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen was also well equipped; two of our guests cooked us an amazing dinner, and they had everything they needed. There were several amenities we didn’t end up using, but simply having them available was a nice touch.And, of course, the cherry on top is the incredible North Carolina wilderness surrounding the property. Being tucked away among the trees and nature was truly indescribable. The home’s gorgeous windows bring the forest right into the space, giving the entire cottage an almost mystical, fairy-tale feeling.Sherri, you have completely outdone yourself with this property. We loved every minute of our stay, and it will always hold such a special place in our memories. Thank you for creating such a wonderful retreat and for making our stay so memorable!

My primary residence is on the Outer Banks of NC where I have lived for 27 years. I had a craft business doing 'Gyotaku,' or fish-printing and opened the gift shop 'Something Fishy' with my late husband.


Before that I lived in Chapel Hill and owned the Kalso Earth Shoe store, which later became the store,'Andromeda.' I moved to Chapel Hill in 1973 from New York to find warmer weather. My daughter and her family are there.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Thirty-three years ago when I was practicing real estate in Chapel Hill I developed this property which was listed by my real estate firm. I was living in a rustic cottage at the time and came upon this beautiful land, which I noticed had been recently surveyed, while walking in the woods. Determined to find the owner, when I went into my real estate company the next day, I found that we had just listed it!


Wanting to share this great discovery, I brought a few good friends out to walk the land and each one fell in love with it. Seven of us decided that we would buy it and sell it off in 5 acre pieces. We had Restrictive Covenants and Homeower Association Rules drawn up, but when the interest rates went up to 17% we got scared and didn't do it. I ended up finishing the surveying of the road and the lots, perking the lots and doing the rest of the development and the whole piece was sold in one year. Each of us bought a lot ourselves and that is how I come to have this lot today. Some of my oldest friends in Chapel Hill also live in the community.


I ended up moving away from Chapel Hill in 1986 after obtaining an MSW at UNC, to take a job in mental health on the Outer Banks. I never thought I would be able to live on this land, but now I have seen my way to build this second home close to family and friends. I am thoroughly enjoying the serenity of the woods and the special birds and wildlife I see there. I saw a box turtle laying eggs right next to the house, the last time I was there.

Being the originator of this community, I got first choice of my lot. I (and others) believe it is the best one, with the rolling woods down to the stream and 2 large rock outcroppings.
