About Karen Hoffman
We love the Central Coast, a special place we call Paradise. In 2003 we bought a hilltop property in upper Carmel Valley and now enjoy magnificent mountain views and serenity. We are always inspired by the natural surroundings of the beautiful Santa Lucia Mountains. We enjoy entertaining with our friends, family and grandchildren. From every visitor's perspective, our little corner of the world beckons vacationers to return again and again.
Karen Hoffman purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2003
Why Karen Hoffman chose Carmel Valley
We fell in love with Cachagua (Upper Carmel Valley), which reminds us of Tuscany. We love the quiet solitude and 360 degree mountain views from our hilltop vineyard. For city people who want sun and country, this is the place!

The property was stunning. Every amenity was provided for our entertainment and relaxation.
We had a relaxing stay. The three year old didn't want to leave.
Gorgeous retreat with amazing views
We absolutely adored our girlfriends getaway at the Tuscan retreat. There are so many places on the property to sit and enjoy coffee while taking in the views of the valley. The kitchen was large enough to make a number of meals and enjoy them as a group. It is a bit tucked away from the town itself but there really is no reason to leave.
Karen was a great host- checking in multiple times to make sure we were happy and taken care of. We’d love to come back some day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karen's property. The house itself is wonderful, but the outdoor spaces are truly unmatched and really make the space something special. There were six of us, and we had plenty of space to enjoy time together! We cooked most of our meals at the house, and found the kitchen well-appointed. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to get away - it is a bit far from some of the other activities in the area, but the nearby town of Carmel Valley (30ish minutes away) has several wineries and was a pleasant surprise in terms of its offerings. I hope to get back here someday. Thank you!
Spectacular Get Away
Summer get away with my grown kids and grandkids (6 and 8 years). We had everything we needed to comfortably relax and enjoy our time together. Most days were spent in or by the pool. Towels and pool toys were provided in ample supply. We cooked together each night in the well appointed kitchen. Games and laughter followed incredible sunsets. If you are looking for a get away from the Bay Area that makes you feel transported far away, this is it. Karen was responsive and super helpful with any question or need.
Beautiful house and property!
The location of the property up in the hills guarantees a peaceful and relaxing stay. We had a wonderful 4 day stay and I would recommend this property. We had a great time swimming, cooking, and relaxing.
Perfect July Trip
My wife, myself and two of our dogs spent three nights here and loved it. The plan was to drive in and spend a day in Monterey and another in Carmel. We ended up not going to either of these places and stayed at the house from the minute we came in until we left for home.
We spent quite a bit of time out by the pool just enjoying the scenery in every direction. I have never been a bird watcher but turned into one on this trip. It was amazing seeing all of the different birds flying around including 8-10 humming birds feeding together. I don't know that we ever heard a single car or airplane the whole time there, it was so quiet and peaceful.
Two things I would point out. There is no cell reception at the house though there is a landline and internet access with WiFi which worked great for us. It was actually nice not having the cell phones ringing. The other is the drive to the residence which I would recommend be done in the daylight as the road has a lot of twists and turns and is not lit. I thought it was fun driving those roads but understand not everyone enjoys them. It is well worth the drive once you get there.
In terms of weather, we came in from Sacramento and 100+ degree days all week to the low to mid 80's in Carmel Valley.
Karen was incredible and answered every question we had come up. We don't have anything negative to say. We can't wait to go back again soon!
